8lb a month was my goal. I was actually down 11 according to the scale at the Doctors office. She thought that was too much in a month but I don't think I was doing anything to extreme. I stayed within my calorie requirements and usually try to eat 4 times per day..
NancyPat I admire your persistence. Sounds like you are doing everything right.

Original Goal was to loose 25 pounds, I've since revised that to 30 Lbs and again to 40 LBs.
Current residence is in Texas.

Wow! You have done great! I was really hoping to lose 10 lbs a month but it isn't happening yet. I am very grateful that I am almost down 8 lbs though. I love Spark People. This is a great place.

This is a tough one. I went UP 8.5 pounds even following my plan carefully. I have a personal trainer and a dietitian and they are as confused as I am. Hopefully the weight will start falling off soon and if not, maybe my doctor will have some answers when I talk with him in the next couple of weeks. I track my food and exercise and I have been pretty good so I am really confused but hey, I KNOW it will eventually work off if I don't quit. Congratulations for everyone's great successes!

I'm down 8 pounds this month, not too bad taking vacation into consideration!

While I'm excited about the weight loss, I am really starting to notice a difference in the way I look at food. With anything I want now I stop and ask myself if I want those chips more than being healthy. Most often it's no, but I also feel good that I can take a serving of Tortilla chips and be satisfied instead of eating the whole bag while laying in bed and watching TV.

I lost 5 pounds this month. One thing that I have noticed is I try to find so many different ways to get my cardio. Take the kids to the park? Walk with them and see who can get up the hill first! I love that I am thinking better about my goals. i can obtain them!!

I will improve my life and therefore my family.

Jenny, that is great! I have lost 2 lbs, but I'm back at the gym, lost inches off my waist and legs and in a great routine. I am sure the other 18 will come off over time. The best thing is that my sister who needs to lose 40+ lbs has joined and is starting to follow the program. That makes me most happy. emoticon

Hi all, one month in how is everyone doing?? This has been fantastic for me I feel so motivated to loose weight since finding spark!! I am nearly half way to my final destination and only 1lb from my holiday goal!! I have had a few days where I could have easily sabotaged the good work but managed to reign myself in last min. Going to go for a bike ride on the prom now. Best wishes for next month guys and gals
