First of all - at least start with a plan
Second - fill up on a salad before you ever leave your house
Third - drink water - room temp water will make you feel full
Fourth - don't hover near the food table - that will kill you - hang out somewhere else, preferably where there is some physical activity going on.

It does seem difficult to do, but you can do this!

Anybody have any pointers for Holidays or Parties. I was all ready for the 4th. Had some Salmon prepared for grilling and knew how many calories to spend. When I got to the barbecue it was all down hill. Didn't even eat the Salmon. I couldn't take all the food that was there! Fried chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, salads (not the good kind), beer. It was overwhelming. I think part of the problem was I showed up hungry. It was 3pm and I skipped lunch. How do you undo years of conditioning to enjoy yourself at a party? This isn't easy. emoticon
