Well, after all my boo hooing early about only losing one pound and going to the Melting Pot for my Bday dinner, this has turned into a pretty darn good day. First we went shopping because most of my pants look ridiculus on me. I tried on a 14 thinking they would be to tight and they FIT LIKE A GLOVE!!!!down from a18! So I bought three more of the same size!!!!I even managed to get a pair of those low rise , skinny leg jeans on but lets just give them another month!!!! Eating at the Melting Pot was not has hard as I thought it would be. Tried a little of everything and the only thing I ate all of was the strawberries after I dipped them so slightly into the melted dark choclate. ( where as my husband concealed his dipper so well with chocoalte I'm not even sure what it was. Ended up being a great day!!!

I started sparkpeople on July 2nd. I am slowly making progress. The pros: the website continues to keep me motivated. I have been fairly good about keeping track of my food, which has helped me from overeating. I have been attending a kickboxing class twice a week, which has been whipping my butt into shape and building my confidence. The cons: As with any big change I am still struggling with exercising more often and trying not to eat high fat/salty meals on the weekend.
All in all, I'm making progress and feel hopeful about continuing to adapt and make healthier choices in my diet and level of activity.

Happy Birthday!!!Please don't be so hard on yourself..it is just number..it could be so many factors water, salt intake, time of the month. Don't always think it is something you did wrong maybe it is something you did right & it will just take a bit longer to reveal the positive results..it could be muscle gain & inches lost...keep positive & think of what you have accomplished so far & re celebrate all those small victories that have landed you where you are...go out & have fun on your B-Day..do stuff for you..I go to the spa & treat myself..do something special for you..K

Congratulations! I am parallel with your successes. I have lost about 7 pounds since starting with sparkpeople. I believe the ability to track the food that I consume has added to the result as well. I am salt sensitive, so I have to stay away from the sodium because of water weight. Stay positive about the weight though. You may surprise yourself! I am looking forward to hearing about your successes!

I missed the original post about weighing in. I joined on July 2 and was 276 lbs.

I weigh myself every day but am only recording a weekly weight on Wednesdays. I weighed 270 lbs on July 9!

I know a lot of it is excess water weight but it was motivating to see a drop in the weight. And I did need to get rid of that excess fluid, my feet aren't puffy anymore! I, of course don't expect to see that much drop every week.

Not a good weigh in day for me. I am taking it pretty hard since this is my first small lose. I know I should be happy it wasn't a gain, but I had been putting up some big numbers and I did not change my eating habits this week I hope I have not hit that dreaded plateau already. I was hoping to get to 155 before that started!! Bummed going into my Birthday weekend. Our annual B day meal will be at the Melting Pot tomorrow. I always look forward to my trip there with hubby but this year I am a little freaked out! I know I should not feel deprived but I am starting to think I am. emoticon

My starting weight is (maybe was) 211. I can easily get emotionally sidetracked if I weigh too often. So I haven't weighed myself since I joined spark. End of July sounds great (I hope!).

I weigh in once a week. I find when I weigh everyday, I get frustrated because the scale doesn't seem to change, (if it does, sometimes it's in the wrong direction). Since last Thursday, I've lost 2 pounds. Seems small but I'm happy with it.

I weigh everyday, but take it with a grain of salt. I have found my weight can vary so much between days and even within the same day I think of my range rather than an exact number (so right now I'm 186-188).

When I used to weigh myself first thing every morning, I found it frustrating to gain even a few ounces.
Starting this Spark program on July 1, I decided to hold off and weigh just once a week .... when I first get up every Tuesday.
July 8 came and I have lost 5LBs.

I feel like I can monitor my intake on the nutrition page. If I stay within my nutrition guideline goals, I shouldn't have to weigh but once a week.

But, do what feels right for you.

I actually asked this same question the other day myself because I'm one to weigh myself everyday just because the scale is there. My friends tell me that I should not do it so often. But I like to weigh everyday so that I know I continuing the weight loss or I need to step it up if I have not even lost a few ounces in a few days.

I actually have just started on July 5th so I'm still working on the steps to success. So right now I have not had the chance to update for a weight loss but hopefully within the next few days. I will have some loss.

When I started on July 1st, I weight 205 and currently the scale says 202, but I seem to fluctuate. Can't wait to exchange that 2 for a 1! I've lost 58 lbs. since April of 2007.

I weighed 198.6 on my scale as of yesterday. I've been doing Weight Watchers, and last Thursday that said 202.6. Guess which I would rather accept?

I have actually lost about 25 pounds since January, but now seem to keep gaining and losing the same five pounds again and again.

I'm weighing myself once a week. When I weighed in on Friday I was at 174. There are two scales at the YMCA. One that is not electric, and it says I weigh 179. The other one is the one the trainer uses and it's electronic and its says 174. So I'll go with the 174lb!
