Eva - glad MIL's perm is finished. Sorry the warm tea didn't work but hope you're back in the pink soon. Keeping your wrist braced sounds like a good plan.

Feline - sorry to hear about the fireplace, but your pediatrician visit sounds like it went well. Some people don't understand how judgment not only hurts the person it was directed to, but themselves as well. Karma is Karma... Hope you are feeling better physically and emotionally. We know you are a wonderful person.
Joyce - emoticon I too hope your weather man is wrong.

Second day @ the Credit Union as I've been 'afraid' to drive my car. DH's Yukon can go anywhere... I made my training Tuesday night by driving myself and joined him Wednesday (leaving @ 6:30 to avoid traffic to help with some paperwork. (I ended up running back to the house as my iPad could not do anything compared to my Mac.) The roads were better, but I decided to cancel my dermatology appointment and come into the credit union again this morning (7:30) and helped complete (for review) two projects. I was sworn in as a CASA volunteer and picked up lunch!
Planning on getting out tomorrow. Early Birds and Teammate meeting, plus reviewing cases @ the CASA office to be assigned. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather. (Car tires were still spinning this morning...)

Eva: If the first person who came out is to be trusted (he's no longer with the company) we have a two prong ignition system when it's typically a three prong. But I looked that up on Google and I guess while that's part of older systems it isn't uncommon - you can buy a two to three prong converter on Amazon. He said (again, if he's to be trusted) that he thought the ignition system needed to be replaced to get our fireplace working again and it'd be about $850. The guy who came out and called our fireplace weird wouldn't tell me what part he thought needed replacing, he just said he's never worked on that kind of fireplace before and the part would be about $800, so I bet they were thinking of the same one. I reached out to another company who advertises as BBB accredited, fully insured, and references available. Nobody picked up the phone so I used their online form, I'm hoping to hear back today about whether they work on our type of fireplace. This place also sells fireplaces (the other place was mostly a chimney sweep business), so I am hoping they're a bit more knowledgeable.

When it rains, it pours. Our garage door broke. Luckily the repair place I called could fit us in right away so I am taking the day off tomorrow to wait for the repairman. We don't have the key to the garage door, so without the electric door opener working the door doesn't lock. I don't like that, so I want it fixed ASAP.

We're just .2" of snow behind the state record for February, but it looks like 2019 will have to settle for second place because the weather report doesn't predict more snow until Saturday. This month we've gotten 25.2" of snow. I think this is the first year I've been ready for warmer weather before the season ended!

I had to see a different PA for my OB because the OBs office was closed due to our weather, and they rescheduled me for a different location. The PA was concerned about my weight gain (I had a big jump from my last appointment) but I've been adding exercise in lately so she told me just to continue what I am doing and see if it slows down. But I was already feeling bad from that talk, and just feeling cruddy overall because of a flare up from one of my conditions, so this morning I decided to get a Java Chip Frappuccino from Starbucks as a treat. Two tiny teenagers were there watching all the orders get made and talking about them, and when they saw mine one of the girls said she didn't understand people who got drinks like that especially when they were "chunks". I felt awful. I still feel awful. I know I've gained too much weight but I haven't heard comments like that since I was over 300lbs. I usually drink my coffee with 1 cream 1 equal, or just the equal, so this was an indulgence.

Feline: I'm sorry about the fireplace guy. What could be "weird" about a fireplace? Make's no sense.

If your pediatrician has been in the business for 29 years then you're probably good LOL. She'll be a little less" by the book." Ours was younger and had no children. We had an issue about Brenna's weight. Her height and weight match, but not for her age. She's a tall girl. She doesn't fit cleanly into a box. But older pediatricians seem less strict on that if the kiddo is in generally good health.

Joyce: Enjoy your lobster dinner! And I hope Don's treatment goes smoothly.

I'm so sick of funky weather.

My wrist is better, but I plan to keep it braced for a few more days. Allergies are kicking in since we've had highish pollen levels this week. *sigh* if it's not one thing it's three. So lots of hot beverages and being quiet since, according to Brenna, I sound like I have gravel in my Listerine...

Sorry to hear about the problems with the fireplace, that is really weird that no one could talk to you. Glad the pediatrician visit went well.

Tomorrow is another of Don's treatments, so we decided to celebrate our anniversary on Friday instead of tomorrow. Don plans on cooking lobster so I can't wait.

It was raining this morning, then the sun came out and was really nice about 3:30 so I took Kayla for a walk. The weather man said it was going to get down to 28 (which would mean icy roads in some places, but right now the temp is in 30's so maybe it won't drop that low plus they give it 70% of rain/snow tomorrow but the sky doesn't look dark like usual so hoping the weather man is wrong.

Have a great evening and tomorrow.

Kali: He did stay home. He slept the entire day and said it helped him feel much better. He's back to work today.

The fireplace repairman came out yesterday and I am livid. We've waited almost 5 months for them to replace the parts we need to fix the fireplace and the guy game yesterday thinking it was a first inspection! He didn't bring the parts, and after the inspection he told DH our fireplace is "weird" and he doesn't know what to do with it. I called to complain and they said nobody was there for me to speak to but would have someone call me back. That was at 8:30, I called back at 4:30 and they said there was still nobody for me to speak to but they'd email the owner to have him call me. It's 10:30 the next day and still no call. At this point all I really need to know is if we need to be going to another company, since our fireplace is apparently "weird". There aren't a lot of options to try, and this company was one of the higher rated ones, so I am extremely disappointed.

The pediatrician visit went well this morning, though. She doesn't have kids, Eva, like you suggested I look for, but she's very nice and has a sense of humor. She's been there for 29 years and was able to answer all our questions. She has a high rating online and came very well recommended by the clinic staff. Her clinic doesn't have privileges at the hospital I'm delivering (not a big surprise, they're two different universities) but she knows my OB and went over what to expect in the days after delivery, babywise.

Kali: Did you make it to CASA?

Being from the south we don't know much about driving on snow. But I can tell you that driving on ice is a pain, no matter the tires, if you don't have a 4 wheel/all wheel drive.

Mother in law's perm is done. She's curly again. Last night I started losing my voice. It's the weather+the perm. So today I get to sip warm tea and rest my voice. I figure it's nature's way of telling me to shut up and mind my own business. LOL

Feline - sorry to hear about DH - I'd never heard about Pericarditis, but glad they diagnosed it. Hope he did take his meds and stayed home. Interesting question about names... I still go by nickname.

Joyce - the weather is crazy everywhere. We spent an hour in the car trying to get downtown and ended up turning around. It's for the best as my DH forgot his meds this morning and is asleep on the couch in the man cave. Love your wishes for the week.

Eva - glad Bre is feeling better and your wrist is on the mend. Arthritis can be tricky.

I emoticon out of the neighborhood yesterday to find the arterials in worse shape and headed back home. My aesthetician was understanding as I ended up cancelling @ the last minute - she had other things to do and was glad to head home early even driving her husband's truck. I have to admit I'm disappointed in my tire performance. It seems I should get better traction, but maybe since it's just front wheel drive that's what I'll have.

I also didn't get to the treadmill but made the mistake of looking @ email. Turns out I have a half-cousin in Oregon which we discovered after an afternoon of research. Looks like my dad's youngest sister had a baby who was put up for adoption in CA. It will be fun to see if we get together.

Going to look for instructions on treadmill maintenance and am planning to drive myself to my last CASA class this evening (unless DH feels better). It starts @ 6:00, so I'm planning to leave @ 4:30 to make sure there's no problem getting there...

Kali: How was the facial and treadmill maintenance? Your temps are seriously frigid. This has been the wonkiest winter. We have warm temps this week but next week we take a 20-degree plunge.

Feline: I hope DH is on the mend. It'll take time I'm sure. I do understand the confusion with Baby and his name. My whole life everyone called me by my middle name. When I started school the teacher called for Eva. I didn't have a clue that my first name was Eva until then. I thought I only had the one name, Roxanne. Now I go by both. Is it possible for Baby to be called by both?

Joyce: I'm glad you missed the snow, but hate that the mail is hindered.

Brenna is feeling better. Thank you for the well wishes. Mine is getting there. I have arthritis in that wrist from a break when I was a teen. It's easy to aggravate it if a movement isn't calculated. I caught myself when I lost my balance cleaning the shower last week. So I'm guessing that's the culprit. It'll correct itself soon enough, it's more of an annoyance to be hampered at this point.

The rain finally moved out and we will be dry for the rest of the week. Hello, sunshine!

Goodfeline, hope DH feels better quickly

Hi all, It didn't snow here but all around us, Eugene got 3 to 4 inches and it snowed after we hit Reedsport on our way to Coos Bay. Highway 126 was closed due to snow, downed trees and power lines, so no mail from Eugene could get here. Crazy.

Hope you all had a great Monday. Hugs and Wishing you a great week.

The streets were clear enough for donut delivery, but my nieces mom was sick so it was a bust. We'll try again this weekend. It turned out for the best, though, as DH had to go to the ER. We were there for 6 hours and got a diagnosis of GERD and Pericarditis. He's on scheduled ibuprofen and rest for the Pericarditis, and some other meds for the GERD. He's still hurting today so I encouraged him to take the day off from work and just rest. I hope he does, and that he remembers to take his medicine.

He had me call his parents while he was in the ER and when they arrived we discussed many things to keep his mind off the pain, and one of those things was MILs intention to call our baby by his middle name. My husband seems on board with doing that, probably because he himself goes by his middle name, but I really like babies name. I'm not sure how I feel about him being referred to by his middle name, and since I love his name and want to call him by his first name I worry about him getting confused if people call him different names. I'll have to have a conversation with DH about this and get his take on it when MIL isn't sitting right next to him.

Feline - sounds like your AC/Paper approach was a win-win. Hope you like your pediatrician - it will be good to have the paperwork complete.

Joyce - don't you love new furniture! We have a 20 year old couch that is desperate need of replacement... Glad you finished errands and burned calories.

Eva - sorry to hear about Brenna and your wrist. I guess the old saying "when it rains it pours" is true literally... Glad to hear no one was injured with the sinkhole accident - frightening for sure. Take care of yourself and Bre. Sending healing thoughts to you both.

We shoveled out 8" (officially) and thank goodness for our neighbor. He owns an infrastructure construction company. He not only cleared the cul-de-sac, but our driveway as well. I need to take a bottle of wine over as a thank you.

We're looking @ winter hanging around...

Normal temps for this time of year are in the 40s. (So much for an above average temperature farmers' almanac prediction.)

I have a facial this afternoon and other than that, hope to do some maintenance work on the treadmill. We shall see.

Brenna went to the nurse Friday with a sore throat. Turns out she has strep throat. She's better now. I put off the shopping until Sunday and kept her in. I'm hoping that she's feeling good enough to go to school this morning, but I will admit, I would not be sad if the school closed today. But while I was there I found out her 3rd quarter reading diagnostic puts her at a 7th grade level.

The floods caused a road near my mother's house to open into a sinkhole. The road collapsed under a car. The grandmother driving that car was the hero of that story. She got her 2 grandkids out and then climbed out herself. No one was hurt but man was it scary. That road is in our school district.

And during the whole mess, I've ended up in a brace on my right wrist. I'm okay. but that means I have to modify exercise and just, in general, be careful for a little while. I can take it off to do short tasks, like my mother in law's perm tomorrow, but downward facing dog is out! So I'll be modifying my program until it's better.

I decided to work on my paper and told them to just give me a holler if they need anything. They seem happy enough with that, and right now I am sitting at halfway done with my paper and they still have about two hours of work to do.

It looks like Sunday is supposed to be sunny and windy, with a 10% chance of rain. Hopefully that means the roads will be good enough for my donut delivery. I haven't seen my niece in a month so it'd be nice to have a drop by.

Next week we meet with a potential pediatrician. If we like her we'll get booked onto her service, and I can finally drop off the secondary daycare application since we're waitlisted until October for our first choice and baby will need somewhere to go when I have to go back to work in August!

Eva - seems like most of the country is dealing with weather of some sort or the other...
Hope you stay dry. Love your advice about baby.

Feline - it looks like the weather may be better than anticipated for @ least Lincoln. Still hoping for little to no freezing rain. I agree with Eva - the AC folks will want to do their work with limited input.

Was stranded Wednesday - Mini couldn't navigate the unplowed (tiny) neighborhood hills. Thanks goodness for neighbors - they helped me get it back to our cleared drive... I ended up going into the office with Mark and walking to my required court hearing for CASA training. Definite win-win-win; steps, fresh air & seeing some old and new friends (the CASA was a retired UNL employee).
There's been enough emoticon to melt the mounds, so I'm going to a 'positivity' lecture @ NET followed by some much needed shopping. (Looks like more mixed weather this weekend, so gathering food for the Instant!)
Sending good thoughts! emoticon

Feline: Just make it a point to check on them. Believe it or not, the AC people would rather you be upstairs doing your thing.

Children "choose" their gender roles regardless of what their nursery looked like. You won't see that until he's old enough to sit up and grab a toy on his own. If DH is that concerned then make toy choices that are gender neutral, like nothing blue or pink (or an even ration of blue and pink) and no dolls or cars/trucks (again or an even ratio). My girl played with cars in the dirt. Use to give her Barbies rides in the monster trucks... But you have a good 6 months after baby is born to be worried about that stuff. He's going to like toy cats since he will be living in a house full of them.

Niece will enjoy MLP now. I don't think there's anything wrong with your decision.

Some of the area schools are closing due to the threat of flash flooding. I'm waiting on ours to make the call.

The snow let up a bit here, so getting home last night wasn't NEARLY as bad as Tuesday night. One of the weather forecasters did some research and this is the snowiest we've had it in something like 10 years.

We're in for a heck of a storm on Saturday though - hopefully it's not as bad as they're predicting, because I'm supposed to visit my niece on Sunday morning. I'm bringing a well-rounded and nutritious breakfast - donuts (with the required sprinkles). I'm also bringing her a MLP blanket, a crown, and some princess books. DH is upset I am not saving them for our baby and is accusing me of forcing gender stereotypes on our unborn son, but I simply think it makes more sense to let the princess lover enjoy those things until our baby boy can express his own preferences.

I have the day off tomorrow for the AC replacement. Our in-laws generously offered to pay for it so our furnace was replaced last week and they're coming tomorrow to replace our AC and clean out the ducts. I never know what to do while they're working, though. I'd like to work on my paper for school, but that puts me two floors above them and what if they need me? Just sitting on the couch twiddling my thumbs isn't very interesting, though, and I certainly don't want to stand outside in the cold just hovering over them while they work. I prefer letting DH handle this kind of thing but he's starting to get in trouble for all the time off he's taking at work.

We didn't get as much rain as expected. For this I am thankful. We should see the sun today, just for a little while. The rain moves back in tomorrow night and Saturday, then it mostly clears out. I think this will be the wettest February on record.

Eva: Allposters.com was having a 50% off sale yesterday so I got 6 prints from an artist I liked there. They're foxes and bunnies playing in the woods and by a lake. It's muted tones, and I find the images to be soothing. DH didn't see them since I was looking at work but agreed to let me buy them - hopefully I won't be returning them. I love the art style, and really like the woodsy theme for the nursery. I didn't buy them with frames, that added a good chunk of money to the total, so I figure we can get some nice looking cheap ones from Michael's. He doesn't even have to be involved with that, my mom loves shopping at Michael's so she and I can go together.

We got about 5" of snow last night, with the weatherman predicting more snow throughout the day into tonight - they're predicting up to 10" total. My boss is trapped in her subdivision and the Firm had a two hour late start. I was right to do laundry, though - the schools closed so we got to wear jeans today.

Feline: look at calendars. I know that sounds silly, but I clipped artwork to frame from calendars. I wanted vintage Winnie the Pooh art. It was pricey at the time, so inexpensive frames and a calendar worked.

Men can be difficult when it comes into putting in leg work. It's just a stop at Kinkos...

I'm at the point of making bad jokes about the rain. I told Brenna I was going to make a pool float barge to row her to school while I serenaded her with "Old Suwannee River." She did not find that as humorous as the adults did.

Eva: It is a huge jump! I asked the facilities manager, and he said his best guess is "greedy cows". The only price the Firm controls is the cans of soda ($0.25), the rest of the machines are controlled by the vending companies. I can get bottles of milk at the gas station for $1.59, or at the Walmart for $1, so I'll just have to make sure I keep them in stock for myself to bring to work. I like drinking the fat-free ones with breakfast or the Vitamin D ones as a morning snack.

I bought a wall border I really liked for him to put up, but he had strong opinions about it. He said it looked like something my grandpa would put up in a hunting lodge and he didn't like it for the nursery. So I am trying to find something he likes, too. I found some adorable animal prints, and he agreed to them, but then changed his mind when he found out they were PDFs we'd have to print at Kinko's or something. He wants something he can just put up. It was 6 prints for $20, not likely going to find that in pre-printed images! I'll have to hop on ebay and see what kind of children's art or wildlife art they have. There's allposters.com, too, which has tons of posters we could grab a frame for at Michael's - I know they have a kids section.

We're not getting rain, but our city got about 5" of snow the other day (with some areas getting as much as 10") and we're looking at another 5-8" tonight and tomorrow. Somekitty threw up on my one pair of maternity jeans so I will have to do laundry tonight in case the schools are closed tomorrow - if they're closed we get to wear jeans to work.

Feline: That's a big jump in the cost of a bottle of milk. Why?

It's good to hear you're getting your nursery needs together. Had DH let you start decorating yet?

We finished making our floating candles yesterday. They will look pretty cool against the "night sky" we plan to make. This is the video we used for inspiration.

We are back in for more rain. Record amounts will fall between this afternoon and Thursday morning. 5-7 inches. I'm still trying to form that rowing team and am contemplating blowing up the peacock pool float lounge on while I wait for the ark.

I went to buy milk from the vending machine at work this morning to go with my breakfast, which is usually $1.25. I put in my money and tried to open the slot but it beeped at me so I looked at the alert - the company raised the price to $3!! I thought that was outrageous, you can get an entire gallon for that much, so I flipped the switch to get my money back. And flipped it. And flipped it. It wouldn't give me my money back. I ended up buying orange juice as the only $1.25 item in the machine, but I am not happy about it.

I am happy I got an A- in my class. It was a tough one, and the teacher was a strict grader. My new class started today and I can tell it's going to be annoying - in the very first introduction the teacher asks us to watch a video he does not link to or give us the name of, tells us to read two articles he gives us the names of but does not link to, and gives us an assignment that requires us to have been a manager in a company. This is going to be a bumpy 8 weeks.

I had an ultrasound on Friday and baby boy is doing well. He's still small, but no sign of heart problems and he looks overall healthy. He's breech right now which is why I am feeling kicks so low. The maternal fetal specialist estimates he'll double in size by the third trimester, then double in size again by birth, which puts him around the 5-6lb range. Not terribly tiny, but a little smaller than average.

Friends of ours have given us three bags of clothes for him to sort through! Our in-laws are giving us the furniture from DHs old room, and my mother wants to buy us a crib and carseat. So that is a lot of stuff taken care of. My grandmother is throwing is a "Baby-Q" in April. Not a lot of people are RSVPing, but that's fine, I don't like big events to begin with. Small and intimate is better - I can spend more time with the people who come rather than worrying I didn't get to see everyone! It also means it's not as likely to last as long, and since it's on Easter weekend that works better for people who have places to be - like DHs BF who has to be at church that evening.

Had a wonderful Valentine's gift from Jim. He noticed my favorite Yoga DVD was cracked. The disk is only 10 years old and I had taped the hole together. He ordered me a replacement. It seems silly but I'd rather have had that than any piece of jewelry he could have purchased because it means he's paying attention.

Kali: Be safe!

And thank you on my sweet pair. Brenna picked up her new glasses on Friday before the dance. Yesterday she was tickled by how many people complimented her. She told me she was just excited to see easily from her new seat in the back of the room.

We've had a ton of rain. I'm thinking of starting a rowing team. We could practice in my yard...

Feline - sounds like you have a full plate and a broken furnace doesn't help the stress...
You'll do great in your class.

Eva - love the photo and glad you got some well deserved downtime and some laughter.

Winter weather advisory here, so DH drove me to my meeting and lunch and we will run for groceries after work. Gotta love the trifecta - freezing rain, sleet and snow. Oh well, it is February.

Feline: The leave, that's up to you on how you feel. I can tell you that during the first couple of months baby is usually quiet, but baby won't know a sleep schedule yet. So It's up to you if you want to take off a full 2 months. Remember for a couple of weeks you won't be up to much more than a simple walk.

I can relate to heating and air issues. We had ours replaced 2 years ago. If it is old, you'll see a return on your electric bill. Ours has been about $50 per month lower. If the A/C is leaking and will have to be replaced anyway there is a "stop leak" you can buy on Amazon. It's a very temporary fix for your problem. You can see youtube videos on how to put it in the unit. We used it while we were waiting for our new unit to be installed.

Eva: I have heard of that with evening primrose oil, a lot of people take it to try to shorten labor I hear.

The bell choir does have a stool, and they do give it to me, but it makes it very difficult to see the music as it's a short stool. I try not to use it, but when I get so lightheaded I have to squat and take slow deep breaths so I can't play anyway, so it's a toss up.

I don't know if it was user error or the brand of air fryer but it was a flop. The chicken was limp and the breading was sloughing off - pretty icky all around. We ended up getting burritos from Pepperjax.

I am doing better at yoga, I'm not falling as much and I know my limits better. I had feline visitors on my mat this time for a closer inspection of just what the heck I am doing. My work got another trainer to sign up as a contractor, my old weight lifting instructor, so I am psyched. I really like her. I can't do a lot of her classes (too high intensity) but she's holding a barre class that is perfect for a pregnant lady. I signed up immediately. I've gained 8lbs this week - I thought I was doing better, especially with all the water and fruit I've been consuming, but I'm just going to have to fall into an anxious panicky pit this weekend and try harder next week. The only thing different is I've discovered sweet tea so I am drinking more sweetener since sweetening my tea helps me drink a lot more fluid. I'll have to go back to plain tea.

I don't do meditation or guided meditation, so I don't have any suggestions for you. I have heard good things about Headspace, though.

Our furnace broke, and it was leaking fluid through a thingimajig I don't know the name of. According to the furnace repairman it was dangerous, and the multiple problems combined with the age of the furnace came to a suggestion to replace it. We had someone come out last night to give us a quote on replacing it and it is almost $8,000 to replace the furnace! We got financing to replace it, so they are at my house right now doing so, but our AC also needs replacing by the end of the year because of its age, damage, and they no longer make the fuel for it. That's another nearly $8,000 we just don't have and we couldn't get financing for. Throw in the $850 for our still broken fireplace, and the unestimated repairs we need to make to the driveway, and I am beginning to think we should have just stayed in an apartment.

I am in week 7 of 8 of my class, and the final project is going to be really difficult. Then I have two more classes until comps - then my dissertation if I pass comps. It's all going by so fast. After the second class, right before comps begins, is when I am due. I am uncertain if I should take a 60 day leave from school or try to pass comps with a newborn. I know newborns mostly sleep, eat, and poop so I could move the bassinet into my office with me while I am working. Or I could take the leave and be off from work and school for two months just me and baby.

Feline: I haven't heard of that, but I do know evening primrose oil gel caps along with blue/black cohosh will help ease you into labor if you are overdue.

Feeling lightheaded isn't out of the ordinary, but it is scary. Can bell choir get you a stool?

How was the air fryer? We don't have one, but then we don't fry much, so I'm not sure it's worth the investment.

How was Yoga? I have kitty Yoga help. The boys keep me up in Down Dog by tickling my belly with their tails.

Interesting if you are getting light headed avoid deep inversions, like down dog. It'll make it worse.

I'm trying Yoga with Kassandra on Youtube. Yin Yoga. I'm pretty sore from holding poses for such a long time. It's kinda nice. I'm also trying the Calm app meditations. I'd like a subscription for a mediation subscription for my birthday in July. So I'm testing several to see which one I want to pay for. I really like Headspace. This one is nice too. I'm going to try some of their other freebies before I make a decision. Any suggestions on others I should try? I prefer a guided meditation.

Today I need to hem Jim's pants for Saturday. I'm also hoping to get a call that Jim and Brenna's glasses are in so we can all go over and get them fitted either tomorrow evening or Saturday morning.

Eva: They're anti-pineapple because of the rumors it can cause miscarriage and labor. I lost sensation in one of my hands yesterday, too, so I figured baby was on a nerve after awhile. I almost passed out again at bell choir last night - I just can't stand for that long anymore. I get too lightheaded, which my maternal fetal specialist said isn't unusual.

Tonight we're testing out one of the airfryers we got for Christmas. I'm going to let DH experiment while I try not to kill myself with my prenatal yoga video. My maternity leggings arrived so I won't be in pajamas this time, lol. My baby girl cat likes to watch me do yoga. It amuses her. She'll perch on the couch and just grin at me like it's the funniest thing she's ever seen!

Feline: I can relate to the taxes. I do the family taxes and it seems there's always something floating around for someone.

I never had a problem with pineapple. Any reason why they are so anti-pineapple other than the acid content? If Baby is stretching he might be on a nerve. That's when I had the most back pain with Brenna. If you don't have a small cushion with you at work, you might start bringing one. It helps with lower back pain in pregnancy.

I'm trying to carve out an hour per day of distinct "me time" that isn't related to exercise. I've done so the last 2 days. Maybe I should make it a streak LOL

Eva: She wasn't a model, but she did design tattoos for awhile. Mostly she likes the artwork and the freedom of expression. Her wife is about equally tattooed, and they've both won tattoo competitions with their art.

I did my taxes last week and filed, since DH said he couldn't think of anything else we were waiting on even though I had this feeling I should wait until the 15th. The day after I got another form to file! So now I have to amend my taxes, which will be a pain. It was a school loan form, and they have until February 15th to get those out. I suspected I might have another one floating out there but couldn't find which company in any of my records (unsurprising, since school loans get sold so frequently). Sure enough, it was a new servicer that sent me the form. The amendment paperwork won't be available until February 8th, so I just have to wait. I've had to amend taxes before when forms got sent late so it's something I know how to do, it's just annoying.

I have the hungries today. It's been awhile, but I had a very filling breakfast half an hour ago and I am hungry again. My back is killing me, too. This is the first time stretching hasn't helped the pain. I wonder if it's related to what I ate? My support group is totally anti-pineapple, but my fruit salad this morning was mostly pineapple...

Tattoos are a tradition in my family, I'm the odd duck because I don't have any. I was thinking of getting one when I reached my weight loss goal - the outline of a cat with butterfly wings - but I got pregnant 20lbs to goal. I was at a healthy weight when I got pregnant so I probably could have called it goal reached, but I had a specific number I really wanted to get to. I remember when I worked in the prison one of the inmates mentioned it probably bothered me working around people with so many tattoos, and I got to laugh and tell him my mother had more tattoos than him. She's almost solid tattoo from chest down - back, chest, arms, and legs.

I remember when I got my first tattoo (I have 2) my grandmother told me I should have taken her with me. She would have gotten one too because "Tattoos are good identifying marks if you're kidnapped or end up in a morgue." She was 75... I come from a strangely delightful bunch.

Mother got her revenge this weekend when the eye doctor told me Saturday that stress-busting is my priority because my eye veins look like "red wigglers." That would be worms if you don't fish. My BP runs about 103/65 so it's not blood pressure. So now I think she expects me to sit in a state of meditation unless I'm driving. She's called the world and told them she might need vitamins but I'm too stressed out. *sigh* At least she's having fun with it.

I hope you all enjoy warmer temps this week. We will, but we also have some thunderstorms in the forecast. I'll be happy when the weather is nice and the ground isn't squishy so I can take the mower out there and mulch leaves.

Eva - I love that you took charge for your mother's health - I can imagine the scene...

Joyce - I so agree. I can remember my 100 year old grandmother telling my 75 year old mother she should change her hairstyle...

Basement is 99% finished. Still haven't contacted Play it Again Sports, but all else is in place.

Finished my homework for CASA training (realizing I should have entered some information yesterday) but @ least it's finished. Then took the pup out as I cleaned up fallen limbs from 60 mph winds and her poop from sub 0 temps. Other than no sun, it was delightful.

Eva the story about the doctor is funny. I can remember mom getting mad at me for things similar and being in in 40's. I guess to mom's we are always their children they need to tell what to do. Hugs

Feline: I decorated with wall art. Murals are lovely but are outgrown soon. If you really want a mural, consider doing it on a large canvas.

Did you know down dog is considered a resting pose?

Kali: How did the basement cleaning go?

Congrats on surviving the cold! I do not envy anyone hitting those giant negative numbers. I have a fear this is our new normal with ice caps melting.

I'm off to do the shopping for the week. Then I'm hoping to come home and hit the yoga mat myself. It's been a long week.

I'm 38 years old and got in trouble at the doctor's office for telling my mother's doctor that she's not taking a vitamin and that's why she keeps having to get b-12 shots. I told her she should have left me at home! emoticon
