We survived the weather yesterday! We're in a weather warning until Sunday, but nothing as bad as yesterday was.

I decided to try the 30-minute session on my yoga video while DH picked up a pizza for dinner. I completed it! Still a lot of down dogs (it must be the instructors favorite position), and a lot of lunges. It focused quite a bit on the hip area - which makes sense for a prenatal yoga video. Instead of corpse pose at the end I might do 10 minutes of regular yoga to relax. I think I am ready to try the 45-minute session next time, though!

I got a Pinterest account and found some cute ideas for the nursery. I think I will keep the walls white, but decorate with shelves and framed art. That lets me store things and make it cute while he's little, but still let him decorate to his personality when he's a little older.

On the disappointing side of things, we were supposed to get our fireplace repaired on Tuesday but both DH and I were called into meetings and had to reschedule. It will be another month before they can come out. At this rate baby will be here by the time it gets repaired!

Somehow I was unsubscribed from this thread, so good to be back...

Feline - congrats on the baby boy! Sounds like you've found a perfect pediatrician location - hope she's what you're looking for and I'm glad your yoga classes have started again.
Stay warm!

Eva - glad art club will be back next year.

We didn't dip lower than -9 this morning and we expect to reach single digits (above freezing). I plan to build a fire later this afternoon, but am hoping to reorganize the workout space in the basement. We shall see...

Eva: I am actually considering trying the barre video instead of the yoga video because Oz was my yoga buddy. He'd get on the mat with me and purr, laying so I could pet him during and between moves, and even imitate what I was doing. It was adorable. I'll have to check out Brett Larkin, though. My video is vinyasa yoga, which is a great workout but not so much the yoga I am used to.

I have a meet and greet with a doctor from the location by my work scheduled for next month. She's board certified, works in the neonatal clinic as well as the pediatric clinic, is highly rated (5 stars!) on the online ratings, and after I picked her the receptionist told me that's who she is going to go with, too. DH also wanted the one by my work so I don't think we'll do any meet and greets at the location by our house, but we'll see how this one goes.

Next on my to-do list is figure out the nursery. I found some wall borders I really liked and that fit in with the wild animal theme, but DH says they look like something my grandpa would put up in a hunting lodge. Maybe framed photos of animals instead? Or framed posters? I'm hoping to avoid painting the walls because that will make it harder to sell the house if we were to move in the future, but a nice green like leaves would work well with a wild animal theme. My mom thinks I should do a mural but I really don't want to take something like that on.

It was -15 when I arrived at work about 45 minutes ago, and it's only supposed to get colder as the day goes on. I got to wear jeans to work though, since the schools are closed. The firm discovered that so many people wore casual clothing on snow days that they made it an official policy - if the schools close due to weather we can wear casual clothes. So I've got one of my warmest sweaters and some jeans on. Casual clothes doesn't extend to shoes, though, so I am still wearing heels with this outfit, lol.

Feline: I'm sorry you all are still struggling with OZ Cat being gone. My Sonny passed 2 years ago and I still miss him. It will get better.

Brett Larkin does some nice prenatal yoga for free on youtube if you are looking for something more soothing than your video. I like her for Yin Yoga too.

Have you met with either pediatrician? Trust me, you want the one that already has kids if at all possible. And be prepared for them to tell you to get rid of the cats.

It's cold here. the polar vortex has grabbed us. Stupid global warming. I plan some yoga (my fibro is acting up) and some time with my heating pad.

This is the last day of Art Club. Brenna is a bit sad, but Mrs. Darla (I think of the little rascals when I hear her name) has told them that as long as the office approves the club it will be back next year, and will stretch out further over the school year. Basically, she was allowed to do a test group. She had so many to sign up she had to split it into 2 groups! I call that a success.

I am still trying to wrap my head around my Oz cat being gone, and I think my other babies are beginning to realize he's not coming back, too. Three of them have become clingy and the fourth is even grumpier than he usually is. He's turning 15 this year, he's outlived a lot of cats, but there was just something special about Oz.

I ordered my breast pump through my insurance yesterday and my husband commented that "milking yourself" has to be the weirdest experience I will ever have in my life. I couldn't help but laugh - that's basically what I will be doing! I've never heard it put that way before. We decided which daycare we will enroll baby in before our preferred daycare, since we're waitlisted. So with that sorted out I have to pick a pediatrician before my next OB visit. I know what hospital I want the pediatrician through, but there are two potential locations - one near my home, and one near my work (which is also near the final daycare). They both have pros - home is good for when we need sudden access to our pediatrician, but work is good because it's just a 6 minute drive so both he and I could be dropped off quickly if he doesn't need to be isolated from the other babies. I like the one by my work and the daycare, because as a first time mom we'll probably be seeing the pediatrician a lot for things that are nothing.

My work started their yoga classes again yesterday. It was nice to be stretching again. I am going to take today for my homework and kitties, and tomorrow I am going to do some yoga at home with my video. It's 40 minutes at work so I will try to match that home, too. The 15 minute one was hard, though, so we'll see how long I last with the 45 minute routine. I hate downward facing dog and the 15 minute routine had a LOT of that position. Hopefully the 45 minute one does not.

My lunch today is cottage cheese with beets, and a bag of BBQ chips. I forgot to grab a fruit cup this morning so the chips will have to do. Cottage cheese with beets has been on my mind lately - it's SO GOOD. And it's pretty, too. The beets make pink patterns in the cottage cheese that looks so nice.

I hope everyone stays warm today and tomorrow! Supposed to be in the -30s here tomorrow.

Feline: Congrats on Baby Boy! I love the announcement picture.

I'm sorry about Oz Cat. It's never easy losing a family member. And they are part of our family.

Kali: I hope you had a safe trip out. How is your teammate?

I'm happy to report nothing new LOL. I know that's a strange way to say things, but nothing new sometimes is awesome.

Eva - emoticon on housework completed. (I can relate to wanting to burrow in with inclement weather...)

Feline - so sorry for your loss. Our pets become a part of our lives and parting with them is never easy. Sending good thoughts your way.
Delighted to hear about the daycare - that's got to be such a relief, not to mention being able to visit during the day.

The Nebraska Club closed after lunch Tuesday, so we ended up grabbing a burger instead. The concert, on the other hand, was superb. They played for 2 hours (with a break), but the ensemble is highly talented and creative. Great fun.

Heading out to see my teammate and hopefully pick up DH's present - roads are still snow covered and slick, so wish me luck.

My Oz cat crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. He was doing worse so we dropped into the vet early morning and she happened to be there. After checking him over she said she could check him in to rehydrate him again, but she really didn't think there were any long-term solutions that could help him. After talking it over we decided the most humane route was euthanasia - he was so weak he couldn't even walk anymore. I had to call in from work I was such a blubbery mess. DH only worked a half day. He was my baby boy and I miss him awfully.

On a brighter side, we found a daycare we love. It's the most expensive one we toured but they are definitely worth the cost - and they're only a 6 minute walk from my work, so I could visit every day if I wanted to, weather permitting. They're inside a federal building so they're extremely secure, too. Not only do they have their own security, but you have to go through a security checkpoint to even get in the building. We're on their waitlist - right now they're waitlisted to October, and we need a spot for August. We can't agree on our second favorite, but each of our second favorites said they would for sure have openings in August if we wanted to wait until closer to my due date to decide, so we have a little time before we need to make a decision about enrolling him into another daycare and transitioning him or what we need to do.

Eva: My mom cancelled the shopping trip due to weather. Which I suppose was a good thing, since it gave me an extra day at home to snuggle my Oz cat. I stopped by Target on Tuesday between daycares and they don't really have a great in-store selection anyway. I got a couple cold weather outfits for when he's 6 months and winter rolls around again, and a stuffed sloth with a sloth rattle, but the stroller and crib selection was disappointing.

Kali: I'm glad you enjoyed your tour of the Thrive center. I hope you are eligible for the Renew Active program. It would be interesting to hear about it.

I hope you enjoyed dinner with DH and hopefully, his gift won't be delayed too long.

Our high of 54 is this morning with temps dropping all day with an arctic front and a bunch of rain coming through.

I'm caught up on housework! I'm still tired this morning, but I think it's weather related. I want to sleep more with the clouds and the rain. emoticon

Eva - love that everyone had a great weekend - Sorry for the two days' work being accomplished in one, but I have a feeling you will be rewarded with a great sense of satisfaction.

The AgeWell Center was all that I expected and more, well less exercise equipment (no rowing machine) but otherwise super. They are now called "Thrive" and even though we would not be eligible until Feb 1, are checking either our SilverSneakers or Renew Active eligibility. Renew Active has more benefits (including memory apps), so we'll wait to see which program is available in this area.
More ice with emoticon predicted for this afternoon, so I cancelled a meeting with a CASA trainer and instead will do some homework on the site this afternoon. Also plan to take an Uber to meet DH - it's his birthday and we're going out to dinner and then to see Jesse Cook @ the Rococo.
Only emoticon thing is his birthday present is ready for pickup and I just don't want to venture out... Surprise will need to wait a little longer.

Kali: How was the Agewell Center?

My oldest niece found a dress! and the younger had a nice drama free weekend here. The 10-year-olds were worn out but at least they had fun while it lasted. Today is back to reality. My Monday chores have shifted to Tuesday. It's going to be a busy one!

Eva - what a fun weekend - sounds like all had a great time and it was productive too!

I have found some fabulous instapot recipes - in fact, I'm using it to defrost meat as well as meals. (I bought the 3 qt. pot, which works perfectly as a pot-in-pot insert in the 8 qt.)

Frigid here with a chance of more freezing rain before snow.
Spitting snow now - we can only hope that form of precipitation will win...
Hoping to get to the AgeWell Center this afternoon to check it out.

Feline: How was baby shopping? Small ticket items you'll want in place, burp clothes, tons of diapers in more than one size (if you are going with cloth think of diaper covers to save clothes and furniture), bottle system that you like (yes even if you breastfeed.), several receiving blankets, a light way umbrella stroller separate from any stroller/car seat contraption you may choose. A nice diaper bag. I preferred a gender-neutral backpack so Jim wouldn't cringe at carrying it.

Yes I know 2 strollers sound like a lot, but I took the travel stroller with me and left the umbrella stroller in Jim's car. It's easy to remember the car seat. A stroller in your trunk or hatch, not so much.

Joyce: I'm sorry to hear about Don. Take care of yourself so you can take care of him.

Kali: You sound like you are on a roll! Glad the pool is on $10 per month. That's worth it. You'll spend more than that on upkeep.

Have you found any good instant pot recipes? I have one and love it for chili, soup, and stew.

I've had my niece, Anna, all weekend. Her mother and sister are prom dress shopping. It gives Brenna and Anna some much-deserved cousin time (they are 3 weeks apart in age. Cousins and best friends) and gives Rhonda the break of her girls not fighting in the middle of a dress shop. I think it's a win-win. And I'm now the cool aunt that made caramel popcorn to celebrate National popcorn day. (Thank you Sparkpeople cookbook.)

Oh my Joyce - you have every reason to be off track - what news...
Sending healing thoughts Don's way and strength to you.
Glad to hear Kayla is feeling better @ least.

I have so much to be grateful for, I'm almost hate to post. We're shrouded in fog and it's 30 degrees, so everything is covered with a thin sheet of ice and I don't have to leave the house. Mark will need to be careful coming home, but he has a Yukon, so @ least will be safe. After finishing medicare signup and setting up an appointment to see the AgeWell Center, I am now on to the next 'to-do'. I've ordered a fireback for the fireplace (after 45 years, the fire brick has multiple cracks) and am researching InstaPot recipes - what an amazing device...

Sending good wishes to all.

Good evening all. Sorry team between yesterday and today I have been just off track, haven't done a thing, I think just unwinding from the drive yesterday and the news. Not sure how long Don's radiation treatments will be, once he get the medicine he will start.Don has mycosis fungoides. He will have radiation 2 times a week. It will pretty much be a full day, the drive is hour and 15 minutes one way. Then the treatment and back home. I will get back on track, I have too.

Kayla is back to old herself if it wasn't for the stitches and the shaved area you wouldn't know she had surgery.

Have a great evening.

Eva - sounds like you were a life-saver. I can't imagine what would have happened if you hadn't come along... Glad you're taking it slow with your ST regimen - if the injuries have healed, you'll be back to full form in no time. Our meals on wheels is based out of Tabiitha and I'd volunteered to deliver, but they haven't called me. (May have something to do with good friend being fired without cause.)

Feline - so sorry to hear about your fireplace, but thanks for reminding me to look into a new fireback for ours. The chimney sweep said it's only a matter of time before a log will accidentally break the block. The good news is the MN firewood we burn is the best. 4 years and no need to clean the chimneys.
Can't wait to hear about the baby's gender!

The wellness manager @ the AgeWell Center got back to me and using the pool is only $10/month/person!
emoticon Here I come!
I also got my Apple Health and FitBit to 'talk' to each other (sort of) thru Sync Solver. Had to contact all three parties, but now I know that most of my steps are being counted toward our family challenges. Getting my sis up and moving!

We're supposed to be in for sub-arctic temperatures this weekend, but my fireplace is STILL not fixed. We've been waiting since October and we finally got an appointment date, but it's not until the end of the month. I'm upset and plan on asking for a discounted rate because nearly 4 months to replace a part is ridiculous.

I gave my prenatal yoga video a try yesterday, and decided to do it at home instead of the gym at work since it was a new experience. I'm glad I did. The video went faster than I would have liked and it was vinyasa yoga. I was falling over and trembling holding the poses - and by the end I was racing to the bathroom!

My mom is taking me shopping on Monday for baby things and asked me to make a list of my most needed pre-natal baby items, like a car seat or a crib. I'm not sure what to put on that list - I'd hate to ask her to buy all the big ticket items, but they're mostly what come to mind. Any suggestions?

Tomorrow is my next maternal-fetal appointment, and they should be doing the gender ultrasound according to my OB. I'm excited and nervous. We both want a girl but suspect it's a boy. I like the boy name we've picked out better than the girl name, but oh so want to dress up a little girl and my brother has so many hand me downs I could use. Plus I've helped with my niece so I know what to expect, generally, with a girl - a boy would be a whole new game!

Kali: We're in for some cold weather as well. I'm not looking forward to Sunday's temps, but they are not as low as yours. Our local news has put out a reminder about opening cabinets and dripping water to keep pipes from freezing.

Plumbers are about to be busy!

We have a Silver Sneakers program at our Senior Center. Those ladies burn it up. They have a retired personal trainer that comes. I think she's the one that helped get the classes started. She's a hoot. I hope you get use of the pool.

Those ladies also run the "Meals on Wheels" program for the southern end of the county. The ones that can't drive cook. The ones that do drive deliver lunch/dinner all over the south end of the county.

I'm still enjoying my ST program. I'm trying to get a round robin of programs so I don't get bored. I'm looking at a couple on YouTube with beginner "classes." I'm not a beginner but I'm being careful of old injuries.

I swap books with my neighbor regularly. I walked a couple she had expressed interest in up to her yesterday and boy am I glad I did. The part of the ice maker that fills it up had malfunctioned and it was pouring water. She was freaking out trying to catch the waterfall in a drip bucket and keep towels in the floor. She had no idea there is a shut-off valve behind the fridge. I reached down and turned off the flow. I can't fix the fridge but at least the kitchen didn't flood.

Joyce - hope Kayla is feeling better and glad you got your exercise in

Eva - WTG on your strength training - still on my to-do list as I slowly restart my exercise program - 20 minutes a day so far...

Feline - hope the tours were great

Medicare sign up is complete! emoticon Apparently we'll get letters saying we owe a penalty for prescription coverage as Part B and D don't 'talk' to each other. Our independent agent said they'll give us a number to call and shouldn't be a problem.
We also signed up for AARP supplemental insurance which includes SilverSneakers. Our local Immanuel Community has an AgeWell Center which offers several SilverSneaker classes (including yoga) emoticon I sent an email asking what amenities were available to us as they have a pool. My guess is that will be an uncharge, but we shall see Feb. 1!
Looks like we're in for more emoticon this weekend as well as arctic temperatures (single digits @ night)

Snuggling before the emoticon is in order!

Feline: Good luck with the tours. Is this the visit to the OB when you find out the gender?

Talk to the OB next week about how you've been feeling. Could be nothing and could be blood pressure or a deficiency. Being tired is normal. Hormone fluctuations can cause that, but the dizziness is a concern.

Joyce: Glad Kayla is on the mend!

I'm well on my way through week 2 of my ST program. I'm doing pretty well. Now if Fluff would let me sleep I'd be awesome. He has woke me up 2 nights in a row wanting a snuggle. I think he's hearing something outside that freaks him out.

Feline take it easy, I know (and this was years ago) I got tired easily when pregnant, I only fainted once, my blood pressure dropped. What does your doctor think is causing the dizziness and lightheartedness.

Eva glad all is well,

Kayla is doing very well today and we can pick her up so she is on the recovery trail.

Have a great day, it is a bit chilly here today.

We remembered my sweater today! And we're both taking next Tuesday off for a very busy day. 9:00 is my next OB appointment, and then we have daycare tours at 11:30, 1:00, and 3:00. We're touring a daycare that partners with my work for a discounted price - they're near my work for convenient drop offs and pick ups, but would require my husband to change his work schedule. We're also touring the daycare next to our favorite pizza place, which has convenient hours (and convenient dinners!) and has won awards and been voted #1 in our city for several years, and we're touring an out of the way daycare that has convenient hours and good reviews that is considered a "discount" daycare. Hopefully one of the four tours will result in a reserved spot for August. They all have unique qualities talked about on their websites that make me love them, the one by my work is especially comprehensive (it makes me worry about the cost), so I can't wait for the tours.

I am finding myself quite tired lately. I am falling asleep at work, on the couch after work, and falling back to sleep after turning my alarm off in the mornings. I am getting 8-9 hours of sleep (possibly more with all the dozing) but it certainly doesn't feel like it. Yesterday during my annual review I kept yawning! Oh, so embarrassing. I was certain my tiredness, dizziness, lightheadedness, and muscle cramps were from low potassium but my maternal fetal doctor says my blood work shows good potassium. Maybe it's my calcium or iron.

Feline: I hope you have your sweater today. I'd figure in the cost of diapers and formula to take to a daycare that does not provide to see if it will actually balance out before you tick the pricey one off your list.

Kali: I'm not an old lady and I'm a wimp in funky weather! Your yard is beautiful. We don't get that down here!

Joyce: I hope Kayla is feeling better. Poor baby. Maybe she can lap sit by the end of the week.

I'm just happy there is nothing going on in Eva Land beside today being arms day on the ST program. Yesterday was a bit easier than last Monday. I'm planning to run this one 4-6 weeks and see where I am at the end of that time. I have a "next" program in mind. It'll give me time to review the videos so I'll know what Im about to get myself into.

Thank you all for the condolences.

Kayla came through surgery well, she is still a little woozy, she likes to lay in our laps but it is hard to pick her up without her wincing, she had 2 cysts removed that were filled with gunk as our vet called it. When we go to pick her up she moves away, then looks sad she in not in one of our laps. Hopefully she will feel a little better tomorrow. Did get my exercise in.

Joyce - hope you got your walk in and love your hat!
Eva - glad Jim is using purple mats and resistance bands. emoticon

Feline - glad to hear the antibiotics are working and you are checking out daycares. Sorry to hear about the cold office - Hope you have a sweater for next time.

Saturday was a snow day - I took these @ 6:00 am and it didn't stop snowing until late afternoon...

Good thing the crews had the weekend to get all in order. Even plowed out some of the residential streets.
Facial this afternoon and hoping to donate some christmas lights to a local elementary school. Wish me luck getting out (the original old lady weather wimp driver...)

Eva: My Oz cat seems to be feeling a little better. They've determined he has a bacterial infection in his tummy, which caused severe dehydration, which exacerbated his kidney failure. It's early kidney failure so his tummy infection let us catch it. He's drinking plenty and eating a little. He got up and moving yesterday and even purred for me a little. I think the antibiotics are starting to work.

Shopping went well. I got a weeks worth of lunches and some healthier snacks (except for the bag of M&Ms). I also got a chia drink to try. It's pomegranate blueberry with chia seeds in it. It looks good, and is full of omega-3s. At the moment I am doing about three snacks a day - I eat breakfast at 7:30ish and then eat every two hours until dinner. So my snacks today are strawberries and blueberries, fig newtons, and some crackers with cheese.

I weighed myself this morning and being more careful of what I eat plus the sporadic recumbent bike is working - I've lost 4lbs. The holiday chub is coming off! One more pound and I will be where I should be for the month, and I should be able to do that by my appointment on the 22nd if I keep things up.

Not so great is I asked DH to grab one of my sweaters from the dryer this morning and he started the car instead. My office is freezing, so I am going to be cold all day. My shirt has no bulk to it at all - I would have worn something completely different if I'd known I wouldn't have my sweater. My office mate is in menopause so keeps a fan running pretty much all day, so of course I get the blow back from that. I'm okay right now as the only person here but when she arrives I'll be hunkered down shivering.

We had our first daycare tour on Friday. It was fine, I liked them. I love that they do personalized curricula for each child and provide formula and diapers. They're a little pricey though, so DH wants to look at a few other places. I am going to try to arrange tours with two other places for before the end of the month. Infant spots are filling up fast.

Feline: How's your baby in kidney failure? Please don't feel guilty. You didn't invite this or cause it to happen. It just did.

Your DVD selection sounds good. They may even be helpful when you are post-natal but not ready to return to regular exercise.

How was shopping?

Joyce: I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. How are you?

Jim got the decoration totes moved to the attic. He surprised me over the weekend asking me about how to prevent injury as he gets older. He's 45. He pulled a muscle 2 weeks ago and now it has him all a flutter. He's fine, but now he's going to be a sight using purple mats and resistance bands.

Feline sorry about your fur babies, please don't feel guilty.

Today was a friend of mine Celebration of Life, it was a nice service. then went to store and picked up items I forgot yesterday, came home doing sparks, not sure if I will get to go out for a walk today or not, it is nice but getting late, lunch/dinner is almost ready.

Hope you all have day and rest of weekend.

My other cat is in kidney failure. I had been talking about the possibility of giving up two of our cats before baby came, because five cats and a baby was overwhelming me, so I feel guilty - like I caused this to happen. Cancer and kidney failure in my babies at the same time just seems like too much of a coincidence otherwise. They're keeping him overnight with IV fluids, though, to see if they can reduce some of the damage and send him home today.

I searched Amazon for some prenatal workout videos and found a 3-DVD set of different barre and stretching exercises, and a yoga video. I figure that should replace my regular DVDs nicely and get me back into a good routine. We haven't been grocery shopping in a long time so I need to get out to the store and stock up on healthy foods - these two things should be some good first steps to getting back on track.

Feline: I'm sorry about your babies. It hurts to lose one. Poor boy.

I think we all indulged too much over the holidays!

Kali: Have you hit full retirement?

I sat on my butt too much during the holidays. I exercised some, but not nearly enough. And I haven't done ST in ages. I'm sore, but not uncomfortably so. Yesterday was legs day and my hamstrings are reminding me this morning of my holiday lazy streak. Today is a sweat day then I get 2 days of active rest.

I did gain some this week, but that's to be expected. ST breaks down muscles to build them up and cause water retention. That half pound will disappear soon.

Last night I made shepherd's pie. My neighbor gifted us with some ground venison so I used that in the place of the lamb. It was fantastic. Next time I may top it with sweet potatoes. They pair well with venison.

Eva - sounds like your exercise routine is going great. (I'd be afraid to even begin planks...)
Good luck on scoping the remodeled supermarket.

Feline - I'm so sorry to hear about your cats' health. I hope you can have them with you as long as they are comfortable. Glad you have some options for lunch and a walk sounds perfect.

I'm headed to the frig to grab my veggies. It's been a while since I've made my workday lunch!

From Thanksgiving to New Year I've indulged far too much, and I am struggling getting back onto the right, healthy track. I've gained 9lbs in the last month! Nearly twice what my OB told me to gain. It's supposed to be almost 40 this afternoon so I am thinking of walking to the smoothie shop and getting a strawberry banana smoothie. My potassium is low, I can tell, and the walk would be good for me. My other options for lunch (since I forgot to bring one) are pretty good, too. I could get a sandwich from Jimmy John's or Little King, some soup at the café down the street, a protein box from Starbucks, or stop at the health food shop.

Last night I was definitely emotionally eating. I found out my old man cat has cancer, and all we can do for him is watch his quality of life to determine when he needs to go. My next oldest cat is sick, too. He has an appointment today to get checked out. I am horribly worried about the two of them.

Kali: What a beautiful cake for a beautiful lady! Enjoy your busy days! We'll see you when you slow down a second!

Kurtzie: Monday was a wished for PJ day here. Hopefully, you get more sunshine than rain today.

Feline: My doctor just told me to be careful on my back and do what I'm comfortable with. When your pregnant movement is movement. I think prenatal Yoga is a good idea. I know a lot of women that danced through pregnancy. It's supposed to ease labor pains. I can't say if it did or not, but they seemed to enjoy it. I practiced yoga, myself and had a long labor, but not particularly difficult.

Yesterday was Core Day of my program. It reminded me that my doctor is right, my core needs work. It could be worse though. Today is leg day.

I plan to move my shopping to Saturday. They remodeled my Kroger so I need to find our specialty items on the shelves for future reference and I have a stack of coupons I can't allow to go to waste. Chicken and salad green coupons for the win!

Hi checking in to say emoticon and hope everyone is doing well. Yesterday I was very lazy and did absolutely nothing, in fact stayed in PJ's all day then at 7:30 took a shower and put on clean PJ's for bed.

Today got back on track, went to Bible Study, took Kayla to vet and got done things I didn't do yesterday, It just rained hard all day today. Supposed to be 40% tomorrow. Hope it is a little less.

Have a great evening

Great picture Kali, you do look very happy.

Eva: There are no chairs in the area at work, but I wonder if doing it seated on the floor would work? Or I could start doing my workouts after work again, I can use my dining room chairs at home. I might have to do that anyway since the rucumbent bike is beginning to feel like I am kneeing myself in the stomach when I use it and it's still too cold to resume my lunchtime walks. I'm a wuss for temperature - I am only comfortable walking outside in the Spring and Fall. I'll do it a little in the summer, but I have heat urticaria so I try to avoid going out when it gets too warm. I am thinking of looking on youtube for more prenatal yoga, and doing that more often. It really helped my back.

DH loves podcasts, he's always listening to something. I've never really gotten into them. Same with books on tape, I tend to zone out and stop listening (a problem I have at work during webinars and phone conferences, too).

Is there any way to modify and do your upper body in a chair, like in this video?

I tend to like to walk and listen to a podcast. Specifically Lore, Cabinet of Curiosities, and Unobscured. I like Arron Mankhe's voice. He's a great storyteller. Or I zone out with Yoga. I have no idea why I'm resistant to strength training. So I have a feeling that my journey to being fit at 40 will be an emotional one. I usually figure out why I'm so resistant to something as I resolve to do something I don't like.

Eva: Your suggestion of the crown led me to a great idea - My Little Ponies! It's something my husband and I both love, and my niece enjoys it, too, so if we end up with a boy I can give her the blanket and crown. I ordered a fleece blanket showing Twilight Sparkle with her princess crown and a crown that looks kind of similar (I wanted one that could lay flat for the photo). I still haven't found a prop game controller that will arrive in time so I have to figure something else out for a boy, or just use the real controllers we have. The hard part is for Mario it has to be a Nintendo controller, and most of the prop ones and cardboard ones are playstation or x-box. I did find a chocolate one that would arrive on time! And a cute little bow tie designed like a game controller, which I'd have to upgrade shipping to be sure it arrived on time.

We're opposites, Eva. I love strength training and really miss it and feel like cardio is a chore. I do best when guided, so I need a video or a trainer guiding me. We cancelled our personal trainer, my work ended the weight training program and didn't renew, and my video has me on my back for half of the upper body training. My OB suggested nothing on my back past 12-weeks. I need to find some other way to get it in, because I am losing definition!

Feline: If Baby happens to be a girl, change the blanket out for pink and add a princess crown. After all, Princesses Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina all compete on Mario Kart. If that mini controller is just a prop, then make it glittery.

Your mom is right, cleaning with a baby is a difficult task. Heck cleaning with a 10-year-old is a feat!

I made Brenna's allergist appointment yesterday. She has to have testing done this time to see if the allergy is less sever. *sigh* So I put the test off until the end of May so she can be out of school. My mom is going with me so I think we may turn it into a girls day out since the appointment is the first one of the day.

I started a strength training program. That's going to be my 2019 focus. I'm hitting peri-menopause. It's time to make sure I don't start losing muscle. So Now's the time to make the shift from Cardio focus to strength focus.

Man I am not a fan of strength training...

I did some cleaning in the bedroom and the master bath. Got all the garbage into a bag, loaded some clothes for donation into bags, hung up the clean clothes, drug the linens that need laundering into the hallway, and did a load of clothing in the laundry. I still need to put the clean clothes away, put the clean linens in the linen closet, sort through the items on the shelves, sweep the bathroom floor, wipe down the bathroom counter, and vacuum. Then that will be one room completely done! I was working by myself but if DH helps for this second part it should go pretty quickly. We're terrible housekeepers, and my mom cautioned me about remedying this before baby comes, so the plan is to completely clean one room at a time so it becomes all about maintaining. Hopefully it doesn't jump ahead of us again.

I have been catsitting for a friend who moved out of state suddenly. She will be coming this weekend to pick up her cats and get some of the stuff she has in storage. I won't see her much, unfortunately, as she'll be running errands and I have a daycare interview, my brothers birthday, and homework this weekend. My mom also wants to discuss her will after my brothers birthday lunch, which isn't something I am super excited to discuss. I pretty much plan on her just living forever.

I have a onesie that says "Player Three Has Entered the Game" and ordered a Mario receiving blanket to go with that, for a boy announcement. I don't really have anything for a girl so I figure if it's a girl I'll stop at Walmart to pick up something cute and a pink or white receiving blanket for that announcement. My husband insists the gaming one is gender neutral - which it is! I get that. But I want something obvious and whether we like it or not the statistics still show that more boys than girls play video games. Am I being silly? Should I just use the gaming idea for either gender?

Feline: I saw a cute family announcement photo with everyone eating something blue. O never did a gender reveal. It was a thing when I was pregnant.

Good luck with your assessment. Do you think the holiday caused it to suffer. As I recall you were starting on Christmas Eve.

Enjoy your Yoga class. Depending on the pisses it might energize you for the week ahead.

School started back for my kiddo on Thursday. I put my house back to normal. Today I did the shopping. Thank goodness the produce looked awesome this morning. Tomorrow is my mother-in-law's 70th birthday dinner. I made her favorite raisin pie. It's a fun one to make and not milk based. It's one her mother made for her. As I recall it's from the depression era.

I think I am going to follow my moms suggestion and just do a cute picture that I can share on social media and text people. I have a boy idea set up, I just need to find a reasonably priced child-sized video game controller. I found a really good one on etsy for $11 but the shipping cost more than the controller! I might just have to use a full-sized one. I am kind of leaving the girl idea until the last minute since I am so sure it's a boy, but it won't be hard to pop by Walmart for a cute girl onesie/dress and a teddy bear. I found a pretty downloadable PDF on etsy announcing whether it's a girl or boy and their name, so when we find out I might buy that, too, and print it off.

I got back into the gym for 20 minutes of the recumbent bike for the first time in two weeks yesterday. It was hard! I was sweating and my legs ached. It felt good, though. I've been trapped at my desk for two days working on a project for an attorney and moving was nice. I will be trapped at my desk again today working on all the work I have to catch up on that got backlogged while I did the project so I am looking forward to doing it again during my lunch break today. I also signed up for another round of yoga classes. They're on Monday this time instead of Friday and I don't know if I like that, I loved ending my week with some relaxing yoga, but we'll see. Maybe it'll be a nice way to start my week.

I got an A- on my first assignment for my new class, and the teacher was very reasonable in her explanation for why. I agreed with her on every point (basically I could have worked harder on the assignment). The first assignment with a new teacher is always kind of testing the waters, so now I know what she expects. I would have liked to get the grade back faster, I only have two days to work on the next assignment now, but it's the same type of assignment as the first so I really needed to know if I was on the right track for how I did the first one or not.

Oh, please don't do latex Balloons. Sea Life sees it as food and tries to eat undigestable balloons & die. Just my thought.
I clicked as a goal "Mindful Movement for 10 minutes". Today was my first day. In college I could do the sun salutation for the full 12 rounds. Today I struggled with just getting on the mat and moving. But I kept it gentle and kept it real. I had an ankle injury last year, break required surgery. As I was unable to walk for about 3 months I'm working on rebuilding my stamina. Hopefully the 10 minutes will turn into 30, but right now I'm proud I did the 10! Peace

Joyce: How awesome congrats on your weight loss! I love the picture!

Kali: Happy retirement!

Feline: You could always do a gender reveal video and then send that to the family. No party, immediate information, and the fun of the gender surprise. Then have a regular baby shower later. I had a friend that released a box of latex balloons.

We are back to a normal schedule today. I personally am undecorating the house today. Mother-in-law's birthday is Saturday. That means tomorrow I make a raisin pie. It's her favorite. One her mother use to make for her. We are an odd pair. We swap pies for birthday gifts. She gives me a lemon, I give her a raisin.

Joyce - you have a great start on what will be a wonderful new year!

Feline - Maybe you could combine naming and gender ideas (as opposed to gifts) as themes or games @ a family shower? Regardless, it's exciting that you will know in a few weeks!

Starting my last official week of work after great tax advice from our HR folks. Weather will be warming, so I can move my office plants home and start a 'real' new year on the 4th!

Eva: Bowling was fun. I got so dehydrated I almost passed out though, but my friends mom is a nurse and his dad is a doctor so I was in good hands. They didn't do a raffle or anything this year, just door prizes. I got a $5 coupon to Village Inn and my husband got a leopard print blanket. I am a terrible bowler, my highest game all night was 60, lol. I think I may have got a cold from being out so late and going from the warm to negative weather back to warm multiple times. We'll see if a few days of extra sleep doesn't help cut that off.

Kurtzie: Congratulations! I have gained 20lbs this year. I know at least 6lbs of it is just from the holidays - I always gain a little around the holidays. Overindulgence of treats, eating out more often because it's easier, and slacking on exercise. The other 14 is most likely from the pregnancy, and 14lbs isn't too bad for 4 months. I am hoping I can drop, or at least maintain, the 6lbs by getting back to healthier eating habits (especially with the instant pot and air fryer I got for Christmas) and returning to a regular exercise habit.

I find out in just over two weeks if baby is a boy or a girl. I am trying to decide if I want to do a gender reveal party, get gifts for the grandparents to tell them, or just text everyone immediately after the ultrasound. I googled gender reveal parties and I guess you play games and things at them - I don't really want to plan something like that. And gifts I'd have to order the day of to avoid having both genders, so I'd be hiding the gender for a few days but I know my family won't want to wait. Texting or calling just seems so boring though! My moms think I should do a naming party instead, but that presents all the same issues except personalized items are even harder to return.

Happy New Year, a new beginning, a new start. I reviewed goals, took measurements, weighed. Today we celebrated New Year's. So I did eat a little more than I should, all healthy but still too much. Last night we watched the ball drop from NY at our time, which was 9pm, so we went to bed our usual time, New Year's Eve is quiet for us.

I do feel good about the past year, Jan 1 2018 I weighed 200.6 and today I weighed 183.8, a 17+ loss. Have a great evening . Hugs and blessings.

Eva - love pajama dancing!

Linda - we're too old for parties too.

We did however stay up for the ball to drop (couldn't believe those diehard folks weathering the rain) as well as midnight to strike in CST. Lincolnites love fireworks, so we wanted to make sure Liz would be as calm as possible. We put her in her kennel about 12:40 and headed to bed. No pajama dancing, but definitely couch celebrating!
