I find it very helpful to rinse m,y nose when allergies are high. I don't use a Neti pot, but a plastic squirt bottle with a saline solution. It really helps! Word of warning: don't use tap water -- use bottled water to prevent infection.

It is possible to see an allergist and get allergy shots that will desensitize you, so the allergies are not as bad.

Dont know if you have tried this, it is a bit extreme, but for a period of time I had to be very careful because of a low immune system.

The doc suggested wearing a mask when in supermarkets where germs are high with the air con system.

They are also helpful for all kinds of gardening activities. Thinking it might also help with the pollen.

You look like a freak of course..... but in some countries it is quite common I understand - wearing a mask I mean, not looking like a freak. emoticon

Sorry to read about your allergy issues - I can totally relate. If you can find humor in the situation, as I was reading your post, there was a Claritin-D advertisement on both sides of the post -- this made me laugh. I hope you find relief soon.

I've been having bad allergies this spring here in Northern Florida. I tried to walk outside when the pollen count was high and I was miserable. You can monitor the pollen at Pollen.com or at Accuweather.com. The pollen is worst in the mornings when it is dry and breezy. It goes down when it rains. It helps to take a bath after being outside or at least washing your face. I know how it feels to have severe allergies. Try to be patient for the pollen season to end. You can also get a high efficiency filter for you air conditioning system that will filter out the pollen and dust. This can be very helpful for indoors.

This has been a bad year for allergies in So. California where I live. We didn't have rain for many years and this year we almost got rained out. Needless to say the rain brought out all kinds of pollen. So, I am doing my best to hang in there as they say. So send me some positive healing vibes, OK?
