Good morning and happy Tuesday! Today I am grateful for...

The gorgeous thunderstorm we had last night! Such a surprise, we don't often get summer rain in the SF Bay Area.

My little Foreman grill, it makes cooking healthy meals so much faster and easier, which has helped keep me on track. (Plus it's so easy to clean!)

I have some vacation time coming up and I get to decide what I want to do with it.

I'm sorry you had a stinky day yesterday, Aspenhugger. It sounds like you have a great mindset to weather the storm, but I do hope things get better for you.

I've missed several days due to a combination of mentally checking out and some travel for work, but I am ever so grateful for...

- The gift of a new day and the opportunity to come back into increased awareness

- A business trip that was both incredibly productive and a lot of fun; I'm so lucky to work with people that I genuinely like and consider to be friends

- I've said it several times, but it's still true- I'm so grateful for podcasts

- The night sky

I didnt get here yesterday, I suppose because the Universe knew that today would be a really stinky day and I'd really need to exercise my gratitude muscles ... if I have any. Sometimes I wonder ...

** I'm grateful it was lovely today -- hotter than yesterday but lovely nevertheless
** I'm grateful that I'm almost finished with the 600 page book of short stories. By one of my favorite authors but still, 600 pages is daunting (& heavy!)
** I'm grateful that I haven't stressed out about going to the grocery store only to find that my food stamps have evaporated. My card should have been reloaded today, but evidently not. No notice either.
** I'm grateful the black ink cartridge came today, and also grateful that the refund almost funded the purchase, and helped along by a coupon it was almost free!
** I'm grateful for coffee and whipping cream in the mornings
** I'm grateful that I have enough -- that I can truly say that in this minutes I lack nothing I need

On this lovely Wednesday afternoon I am grateful for:

** the opportunity to tend my friend's cats while she's on a cruise -- that gives me a much-needed supplement to my poor budget!
** my car: running & the AC working!
** my daughter is evidently not coming to live with me after all -- at least not at this time. I'm looking on the bright side of that, instead of dwelling on what I won't have if she doesn't come
** books & music & cats
** hope for getting my knee issue resolved once & for all
** my Mother's Day present of an Ancestry DNA kit. I've been wanting to get my DNA done for a while but couldn't afford the kit. Mailed it off today. I'm excited to find out the results!
** some time spent with my friend before she left
** the week will finish with temps in the high 80s -- what a blessing!

Hope everyone is well and wonderful, with lots to be grateful for!

So much gratitude!

For the workers and emergency teams working so hard to help people and animals in Houston.

And everyone who has made donations, esp the folks here!

And I am deeply grateful to the farm workers and the field workers who labor to bring food to my table, in harsh conditions, sometimes without protection or fair treatment or pay.

Happy Labor Day!

Hi Kate, good to catch up with your world. The smoke and issues in Houston sound really difficult. Our winter has been so warm and mild, I am wondering how hot a summer it will be here.
So I am already grateful for the AC system. It is warm in winter when I need it, and soooooo good in summer. Gratitude sure is flowing

Grateful that the pain in my arm has abated. Specialist said by Tuesday it would have reached its full potential and today is Monday. It feels a bit weak - but the pain is so much reduced.
It is just a case of wait and see. It may heal within the next 6 months and that will be no op.
Grateful for Meg who has been here with me today. We got so much accomplished and some food cooked to get me through till Friday.
gRATEFUl for the chicken in lemon andyohurt for lunch today. Sooooooooooo good.
Grateful for my daily cups of tea.
Grateful for happiness and laughter and friends and
So grateful beyond measure for at last learning to love and accept myself as I am.
That I do believe is the biggest blessing of all.
Other things are changing also. Gratitude is extra special on the days when I really feel it.

On this hottest day of the heat wave, I'm grateful:

** that I'm not in Houston, and that I was able to donate a wee bit of emoticon to help. I have a good deal of clothes I'm going to donate in my ongoing clearing the clutter project -- I wish there was a way to send them to Houston instead.

** for electricity, AC and fans

** that I'm able to stay in the house during this emoticon and while the fires are so bad that the air is gray and the sunlight looks strange

** that I have a catsitting job coming up -- which means extra emoticon in this month's budget

** for my PCP's different diagnosis of my knee problem -- emoticon he's right & not the surgeon, because if he is right I won't have to have the surgery

** for getting another project done: all the materials for my clan sent back to the clan: less responsibility and more of the closet in the guest room cleared out!

I hope the shot works for your shoulder Wispy!

And Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! A 3 day weekend is always so nice, isn't it?

Hi there, things must be so bad in Houston. What I have heard it seems so bad. Pleased to hear about your friends and family.

Today I am grateful for the specialist yesterday who did something to my shoulder with a deep injection. He says it has a 70 - 80 per cent rate of success. So hoping for the best.
Otherwise it will be the jolly old op.
Grateful I have as much help as I do and that am able to cope. Cant really do much with my right arm at all. He says by Tuesday the stuff in the injection should be showing a relief in the pain level so we shall see.
Grateful for loving friends and family
So grateful for people, the taxi driver was a gem. and so kind and helpful
And grateful for the people I chatted two in the surgery waiting room. I seem to be encountering a lot of loving, kind people this last while. Feeling very blessed and grateful.

Hello and Happy September!

Today I am grateful for...

My family members in Houston are safe. emoticon

The company I work for: they are matching all employee donations to Harvey relief up to $1000 per employee, and they donated $10,000 of their own to aid in the effort.

A new month, a new day, a chance to refresh and recommit to my goals. emoticon

On this coolest of the previous 3 days and the oncoming 5 days of triple digits, I am so grateful for:

** electricity, which powers the AC & the overhead fans & the stand fan
** for the possible misdiagnosis of this recalcitrant knee: my PCP think it might not be arthritis but bursitis causing the Baker's cyst and the pain. If that's true, then I won't need a complete knee replacement after all!
** grateful to have Medicare which will hopefully authorize the MRI the PCP wants me to have, so the problem can be diagnosed correctly at last
** books and music, Netflix and the Firestick -- all of which keep me entertained
** my trusty little red car running again

and just for today, I have enough.

Hope you're feeling better soon Wispy, and hope everybody who's too hot gets to cool down soon!

Hi there ladies,

Shoulder is feeling better thanks, but these things take ages to mend. It is an old wound that got re-activated by me lugging bags of compost up the back steps. emoticon
I forget my age - but have to say I am overall grateful for that.
Grateful for a bright sunny, clear blue sky morning. Cant believe the winter is almost over.
I am mostly still in a sarong. So grateful for the 10/11 months here when it is not sweltering and humid. Empathise with all of you in the heat.
Grateful for eating mindfully this last while. It is making so much difference to the flavour of my food. I used to eat while doing all sorts of other stuff. Never just actually sitting down quietly and tasting and enjoying the flavour.
Grateful to be discovering how important different textures are so that I feel satisfied after
eating.
Grateful for Kim who is taking me out today.

Wispy, hope your shoulder is better by now!

And spring seems to come in earlier than scheduled over here too -- I am always amazed to see the fruit trees blooming the last weekend in January, when spring doesn't officially start until the Vernal Equinox in March! Autumn is more unpreduct6able, sometimes early, sometimes never gets here at all -- hot summer straight into winter!

Today, on the first of four or five days of triple digit sweltering heat, after three weeks of pleasant summer weather, I am grateful for:

** my niece, whose company I so enjoy
** learning to just take it as it comes, & not worry & fret over not being as ambitious as I think I should be
** my two cats -- their former owner decided he couldn't keep them after he regained his eyesight, so now they're mine. A surprise, and somewhat of an unwelcome one, but I am grateful for anything the Universe gives me, on the theory that I must have needed it & didn't know it
** farmers' markets and all the fresh fruits & veg of summer
** coffee!
** strawberries, and heavy cream
** my own little house and AC and overhead fans in every room in the house
** only 6 more days until September!

And did I share that my car is fixed? I am so grateful for that blessing that no words will do it justice!

Have a lovely weekend, and enjoy the last of the lazy crazy days of August!

Good morning! Yes, Wispy- I saw the eclipse but from my location it was only about 80% full. Still incredible! My co-workers and I gathered outside with our glasses and took a bit to enjoy it. I am totally with you on coconut, pineapple and strawberries- some of my favorites! That trifle sounds delicious.

Today I am grateful for...

- Mornings; they're a reminder that the world is full of possibility

- Coffee; it's such an enjoyable way to start a day

- Blueberries, they've been so good this year

Good morning ladies. I am thinking many of you will have seen the eclipse. Just caught a glimpse on TV.

Today grateful for the "heavier meds" which I do not like taking - but grateful for the pain relief
Grateful as always for the early morning walk - the smells sights and sounds
Grateful for the first tea of day - all the others too, but first is special
Grateful for coconut, pineapple, strawberries and lasts night's 'trifle'.
Grateful for a new day - so still this morning. It still surprises me how the leaves and branches can be so still sometimes on a morning like this.

On this lovely Wednesday, I am grateful for...

- My walking buddy is back to work (she was on vacation for a bit), it's so much more fun to walk when she's there

- My comfy new walking shoes

- Dogs, they have so many lessons to teach us about love, loyalty and living in the moment

Hi all,

Not sure about the things you mention Kate, we just kind of think of it as being 1st Sept is spring. This may not even be official, it is just a way of defining the seasons. I am actually in New Zealand, just a stones throw from Ozzieland. emoticon Our climate up in the North Island is kind of sub tropical, so we do not get the season changes as in the South Island, where it is more Euoprean in nature.

This has been a very mild winter and only had the heater on a very few times with lots of rain, storms and sunshine. All favourite weathers of mine. emoticon

So today grateful for early morning walk around the mini forest
Grateful for the early morning cuppa
Grateful that my should is not fractured or broken
Grateful that it may even be healed before the specialist gets a look
Grateful for strawberry mousse - I freeze the summer berries

Good morning!

Aspenhugger - in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are reversed. If I'm not mistaken, Wispy lives in Australia so when we experience Fall, it'll be Spring for her.

I am grateful that I got to see the eclipse yesterday! From my view it was about 80% full, but still amazing.

I'm grateful for a cup of coffee and the quiet of morning.

I'm grateful for podcasts to listen to in the car, so much better than just sitting there in traffic.

On this lovely eclipse day, I am grateful for:

** Cooler weather! In part caused by the eclipse (I'm not in the Path of Totality but we got 87%, enough to affect the weather
** for my niece, who is such a blessing to me
** and for the mesh screen doors she gave me, which will solve the double problem of my 2 ornery critters clawing a hole in the screen door, so needing a new sliding screen door & a cat door insert.
** a day of no AC & no fans
** having been able hack back the overgrowth on my front walkway -- took me a couple of days but I got it done!
** following the keto WOE for the past 2 weeks, at least not eating the things I shouldn't. And for getting the courage to tell my neighbor I don't want to go to the food bank any more -- I come home with bread & pastries & noodles & sweets, and I'm not able to resist them. Better I don't get them in the first place
** for our local farmers market where I can get all the organic, local veggies I want!

Wispy, I'm curious. Over here we think the seasons change on the solstices & the equinoxes. The autumnal equinox is Sept. 22 ) (or thereabouts) -- is that what you're referring to? I can't wait for it to get here! Not a guarantee of milder sweeter temps, but usually that's how it goes.

Nightglow, I so identify with you about liking music that isn't mainstream (I refuse to call it alt-music). There's a world famous radio station down by Santa Cruz and whenever I went back to visit I taped it, & then made tapes of the songs I liked. My truck was parked in front of my friend's house & was broken into and the dratted thieves stole a whole carryall of those tapes. I know when they listened to the first one they said very unprintable things & tossed the whole works into the rubbish. Bro9ke my heart!

Love Bob Seeger -- we must be about the same age! emoticon

Happy Friday!

I am grateful for....

- Getting a promotion! My boss told me today that his recommendation was approved, so it takes effect 9/4. It's so nice to be appreciated and recognized.

- Seeing a good friend of mine who's been out of town for a few weeks, I'd really missed her - it was nice to be able to tell her that and hear all about her adventures.

- A delicious and healthy vegan dinner, yum!

Thanks Kali - so you are where the eclipse is. A friend and DH are coming there to watch. What a great experience it will be. Everywhere must be packed to the max. I hear yards are being rented out to park and watch and high prices. Have fun

Today very grateful for waking up to a meeting with friends
Grateful that my shoulder is less painful, although my hand seems a little numb
Grateful that doc has organised a specialist
Grateful for cauliflower. emoticon Got 2 enormous ones yesterday. One roasted, one pureed.

Lovely gratitudes, all!

I'm so thankful for a successful radio show yesterday. I had the mayor on and was a bit nervous going in.

Likewise grateful that the "hump" is behind me, and the rest of my week seems stress free and pleasant.

And for the workers who toil in the fields that I may have healthful fruits and vegetables on my table today.

Wishing you beauty and joy.
