Love that plan! Stick to just one little thing for a month, and make a habit. I really should get in on this idea. I'm not sure what yet, but I may come up with something. I'm trying to keep my desk at work clean, so far so good!

I am starting those things about new habits. Clutter stresses me out so I am starting with keeping my car completely clean for 30 days. Sounds easy, but with a kid, uh not so much. Once I get that down, I will move on to my next new habit. I figure 12 new healthy or stress busting habits by the end of the year would be a good deal.

I am also doing a great deal of cleaning, sorting, and decluttering. My issue this past year was that I was job hunting and moving. However, for 2012, I have my new job, so I am set to stay in one place and focus on things like, um, getting healthy.

So, I've already started by setting up a 60 day training program on UFC Trainer Kinect (a video game), plus I am running a half marathon in 48 days, so I have plenty of fodder for keeping myself motivated!

I think a little cheese can be very motivational. I wonder if I can find 2012 things to purge from my crowded house? Or 2012 things to be greatful for? I'd have to allow repetition for that. 2012 steps taken towards being happier and healthier?

I may steel your idea. I really like it.

I cannot make myself be thin today, but I CAN be healthier by making a few smart choices. I focus on what needs to be done today and tomorrow takes care of itself.

I've had a lot of negative things happen last year and thought I'd use 2012 to focus on positive things - read 2012 pages of something FUN (while on the exercise bike), ride 2012 miles on the exercise bike. Cheesy, I know, but something positive to aim for - and something I could easily reach if I try.

I need to do some of that too, Chris. Right now I'm just focusing on building stamina and controlling eating without getting sick. It's been touch and go but I'm making smart decisions. I'm hoping to tackle the clothing situation next weekend since I have MLK Day off work.

every year in December, I clear out everything that I have not worn, used or thought of in the last year. I record it, pack it up, and donate it all to Goodwill. My house is not that big so I run out of storage space, I want something new I have to get ride of something I am not needing or using any more. With the possible exception of books, I love books! I do cull them now and again, for Goodwill or my local library. I get the Tax deduction, and I help someone else, and make ore room at home.

Ive been doing a lot of thinking about why things have gotten so far out of control for me and it occured to me that a lot of it is just a bunch of excess. Excess in every area of my life it seems. Excessive stress, clutter, food, drink, everything.... well 2012 is here and it's time to start getting $hit back on track. Not just diet wise but in every aspect of my life.

SO.... this thread is about what you are doing in your life to slim down... not just your body but your mind and soul. Just seems like when my mind is full... my stomach is empty. LOL
I am going to post one thing every week that I accomplish to help this slimming process. So far I have consistently tracked my food for the last seven Days...

This week... I am decluttering my kitchen and getting rid of all the bad food in the pantry.

Let me know what you are doing to slim down for 2012! 2012 is about taking back control of my life.... What are you doing in 2012 and why?
