They indeed are the cabbage butterfly worms. They attack my cabbage/broccoli every year. They are laid by the little white butterflies that you see flying around in the spring and summer. I just got some capsasum at the nursury and am going to try that, not sure if it will work, for now just keep faithfully picking them off every day until you find something that works.

Unless you have a huge broccoli bed I'd say hand-picking is the best method. You could borrow my chickens LOL!

OK, I planted broccoli for the first time this year. It is growing great. I checked it tonight & notice some of the leaves had holes in them. When I checked closer, the underside of the leaves had little green caterpillar type worms on them. I picked off as many as I could.

Has anyone else had these & if so what did you use to get rid of them?

I thought with a raised bed garden, these little buggers wouldn't be a problem.
