Got in a good cardio workout at the gym yesterday. emoticon Felt soooo good. Didnít make my TRX class. By the time we got back from taking the truck in, my schedule was a bit out of whack. Today is my circuit training class with a nice walk to and from. Hubby may be ready for a gym visit today. I am going to try to talk him into a morning one since I am giving blood today and should not be exercising after.

We had a second showing on the house last night. Fingers crossed that something comes out of it. Also have a buyer from New York coming in next week to see the house if it is still on the market. emoticon

Elayne ~ emoticon first meeting for you. I will be going on Friday.

Melinda ~ emoticon emoticon emoticon Prayers with you and your family. My hubby had a triple bypass over 15 years ago. He was 54 at the time. It was the best for him. He feels so much better now. I wonít sugar coat it. It was quite the road to hoe. But it is worth it. Modern medicine is crazy at best.

Sitting on the veranda waiting for hubby to join me for our morning chat.

Good morning.

Beachcomber, OH my LORD! I would not want to make that call either.

Yesterday was a stressful mess.

Michael (my husband) had an abnormal stress test a few weeks ago. Because of that he had an angio-gram yesterday. I expected they would come out and tell me they had to put in a new stent or two. Instead the doc came out and told me he needed to have bypass surgery. As the day progressed we learned he needs a quadrupedal bypass! Holy crud. Tomorrow morning the doctor is quite literally going to crack open his chest, stop his heart, remove veins from his chest and leg, and make a new "highway" in his heart. Whoa!

Today we have to go to a cardiac class for 4 hours to learn more about all of this. He will be out of work for 7-12 weeks.

Moriah (the one off to college on FRIDAY) understands this is best, that he do the bypass now, and she can go off to school knowing it is done. Still it is hard. Faith (our oldest with all of the mental health issues) came over last night, and slept here, so she could spend time with her dad. I do NOT want either of them (or the boys) at the hospital tomorrow.

I am just trying to balance everything I need to balance, and not fall apart.

Before we knew his surgery would happen so quickly, I asked him, "If I PAY for you to join WW would you do the program?" he said no. Later I said if you are going to let them open you up and do all of this, you must do some program. Any program. You are out of time to say "I wish, I want, I can't." You must just do.

So, no workout again today. Just trying to hold it together and maintain.

Participate in life with enthusiasm.

Embrace your unique beauty and grace.

When someone tells me I can't, I turn around and say Watch me!

Hi everyone. Had a great mtg. today. The subject was about finding the good in any situation and not to depend on just the scale as they are only numbers. It's important to move on if one should make not the best choice. Learn from it and move forward.

My weight today was 139.2. I will get this off. My goal for now is 125. I can always change it if I want to. It's been 2.5 years since I've been to a mtg. emoticon

Today we are taking hubbyís truck back to his repair shop. Seems they didnít do something right. It was a emoticon 6K repair, so they need to get it right. Not sure how long we will be without it. Thank goodness we donít need it for everyday driving.

I will probably go to my TRX class today. We should be home in time from taking in the truck (I need to bring hubby back home). Would like to get a cardio gym visit in and then spend some time in the pool. Also need to get a grocery list together and shop. I am not sure if that will be today or tomorrow. emoticon

Nell ~ Tough situation with your mom and sis. emoticon

Melinda ~ We will probably go back down and look at another set of houses before we pull the trigger on the one house we like. With no offers on our house, I donít feel the urgency to put in an offer on a house. Because we have our trailer to live in, it takes some of the stress away. emoticon

Beachcomber ~ Oh my! emoticon

Just about time to take the truck in.

Melinda- I know those hearing aids are expensive! I had a little boy year before last who wore hearing aids to school and one day I noticed that one of them was gone. I asked him where it was and after much discussion, he finally told me he flushed it down the toilet! I was dumbfounded! I did not want to make that call home! emoticon

Good morning.
I like that I can view connect on line, and click the like button, but still can't comment or write a post. Some people write really long post, but that seems like such a hassle to do on my phone! Maybe they are using a tablet with a keyboard..... hhhmmm.....

Nell, wow. That must be a hard sell, needing to do construction/deconstruction on a condo.
as to your mom, how frustrating for you. For my grandfather, with Alzheimers we got him something called a Pocket Talker. It was basically a small black box with a microphone, that fit in his pocket (so he needed to wear something with a pocket, most often a breast pocket). Attached to the little box was essentially an earphone that he put in his ear. He could also set the box on the tv stand to be able to hear the tv. He was able to manage this device even with his Alzheimers. Of course he did live in a "home". This little box may still exist, and is waaay less expensive than hearing aids.

As an aside, the daughter heading off to college has a hearing loss The cost is no joke! When she first got her hearing aids she was 6. I sent the little box to school for the teacher, and wrote "$3000!" on it with the instructions that Moriah was to never wear them on the playground or the gym! We made those hearing aids last 7 years, and trust me that is a long time.

Terri, happy house hunting. I still like looking at houses online, even thought we are kind of stuck here for awhile.

I'm on a condo board, and I see contracts fall out all the time. Sometimes it's because they read the condo docs (and few do) and realize they can only have two cars or two dogs. Sometimes it's because their lender refused the loan, sometimes it's because the house they were selling in order to buy had a contract fall through. And sometimes it's because a repair they'd have to make is too much for the contract price and the seller won't adjust. That's happening right now; the previous owner of a foreclosed unit added walls to make an illegal bedroom in the kitchen, and a new owner would have to remove them. That unit is on its second contract now, let's see if it closes.

My mother says she wants hearing aids. She does need them, but with her dementia there is no way she'd be able to figure out how to use them. I took her to an audiologist a few years back, and we showed her how they worked. When we told her to try putting them on, she'd stick the wrong end in the wrong part of her ear and the other part in her hair. She can't figure out how to change batteries in her TV remote, there is no way she'd be able to handle battery changes on hearing aids. She can't even figure out how to use a cordless phone, I had to get her all corded phones. And she'd lose them or wear them in the shower. They are way too expensive to go through that hard lesson. While my sister and her husband were vacationing all over the world these last 40 years, my husband and I have been saving, so we have more money. My sister thinks it's worth the chance of losing the $3000 investment, but I'm too money sensitive for that. If Mom runs out of money, I'm the one who would have to support her.

We are home safe and sound. Today is another open house so hubby and I are jumping in the car and taking a drive to Calistoga. Not much else on the plan. Still looking at houses, virtually, and will probably go back down in another couple of weeks to see what is new on the market. The urgency has quelled a bit since we currently have no offers on the house. But we are still moving forward with packing, etc. emoticon

Not sure what, if any, the workout will be today. emoticon

Good morning!

I worked 9-6:30 at the Renaissance faire grounds yesterday. Hard work, physical labor, and I love every minute of it. :) Don't love the bug bites though. over 16k steps.

I was up at 3am yesterday, and since I was gone all day, I told my daughter I would watch a movie with her, then I couldn't get to sleep. Finally asleep maybe at 11. Xavier woke me up at 3! ugh! I really REALLY wanted to sleep. Finally gave up and got out of bed at 4.

No real workout today, as 1, I am exhausted, and two we are going to take everyone out to lunch to celebrate our 30th anniversary (next month!) our oldest daughter's successes, our college bound daughter's birthday (also next month!) and Yeah! You're going to college next week. All in one meal. :)

Terri, our house had 3 "sold" before it actually did. errr....

Sandi, I can't image how quiet your house must be after a full summer with your crew. enjoy it!

SLJWATTS Fantastic! Keep it up.

Nell, never heard of Vanda. But I was born in the 60's. :)

Beachcomber, I do have the cateracts, but since my issue has been under control for the past few years, it has not progressed. Thank goodness.

Yesterday I did not track, but I had limited time or resources for food, so I am confident I stayed within my points. Nothing is,of course, open at the faire yet, so no food vendors. And as we are currently short staffed, we worked non stop! (except for lunch break which was a salad at Perkins.)
Have a good one,
Melinda

Hi Well the kids are back in school and so far doing good. The house is very quiet now lol. I find myself bored so I been using the home gym more and cleaning everyone's rooms and then I take a nap before they come home. Hubby says I just have to get use to them being gone during the day.
Notice that WW online closed their community and now all they have is the tracking and connect. I use the community for support and questions. Hope all is well...

Hi everybody!

It was quite a scorcher today but I did trim the bushes and sweep the front porch in addition to running some errands.

Melinda - I hope the doctor was wrong about the cateracts! I have no line bifocals. It happened about 2 years ago. Sometimes when I get out of my car, my glasses fog up. I guess I am just a smokin' hot chick! emoticon LOL

Terri- Sad to see the sellers backed out on your chosen home. Keep looking and something better might come on the market.

SLJWatts- Glad to see that app is doing the trick for you! I have been really focusing on tracking my food and staying within my point range for the past 2 weeks.

Hi all I am dancing today! After many years of pulling my hair out trying to loose I have found my method to weight loss- the WW AP has been working like a charm for me- allows me easier tracking and I am more honest on it since it is password protected and I feel more privacy, I love the connect that allows me instant support and it is working- another 1.5 lb down.. I was nervous because my scale broke yesterday= my husband got on it and it was reading error... so I was in a panic because I know all scales don't weigh the same. Went out last night and got a new one and it seems to be weighing the same- my husband said it gave him the same weight as the other one... and I dropped the same amount as last week. I am returning to work from a stay at home vacation, so I am putting some thought into how I am going to continue my healthy habits while the pressures of work are hitting me in the face. We will see if I can find a rhythm that works.

Nell- Glad meeting was better than you thought it was going to be...
Rskating- Glad you are taking some time to get things in order before Sept...
Sassax- Meetings are the way to go it that works for you, finding what works and sticking to it is a wonderful thing to do for you..
BeachComber- Eyes and Age- uck! I don't get why we have aging anyway... LOL Love your description of the beach.. I felt like I had a vacation during my vacation just dreaming of being there...

Well I am going to bask in my weight loss for a bit more, eat breakfast and go on a walk....

Oh the ups and downs of selling a house. After finding a house and ready to make an offer, we found out our buyer had cancelled. emoticon Donít have the details (and really what does it matter) so back on the market we go. It was never really off the market. No sold or pending sign. And I am thankful that is happened early in the process rather than later. But still disappointing. We will still make the offer on the house, but it will be contingent on the sale of ours. emoticon

We are probably driving back home today. emoticon Not quite sure yet.

Good morning!

Elayne I completely understand. I find I do better at meetings as well. This spot here has to by my meeting though. My husband and I work opposite times of day, and we have a 3yr old plus a 1yr old grandson. Glad you are here!

Nell, sounds like your meeting wasn't horrible, yet not great. As a hiring manager, absolutely. A person has a nice resume, interviews well, then isn't able to put into practice the skills they have on paper, or learn quickly enough the tasks of the job.

My mom did Avon back in the territory days as well. I don't think she made much money, but we sure had a lot of Avon! This time it was only $15 to join, the website is free, and I was very careful and clear about what it means to be "active". While it would be awesome to have this major windfall, my expectations I think are pretty realistic. :)

Beachcomber, the eye doctor told me I had cateracts! Umm... NO! I'm not that old. Granted I do have a chronic eye issue and used to used steriod drops quite a bit until it got under control, but sheese! Then he told me I needed bi-focals. What??

Today's goal is to go back out to the Renaissance Faire grounds and continue getting our booth ready for next weekend, and do a MUCH better job of tracking!!! I am not meeting my goals and need to get my arse in gear. Please hold me accountable!

Have a good one!

Nell- I am glad the meeting was better than expected.

Wow! It is so hot today. I went out to play fetch with my dog (Bella) and I had to stand in the shade because the patio was burning my feet.

I took myself and my two children (son and daughter) to the eye doctor today. My son and I ordered new glasses, my daughter is still lucky and does not need them. My eyesight was always really good until the age related stuff started kicking in. I was so surprised when that happened. I was sure that would not happen to me! LOL

Hi Everyone. Here I am again with a better mind set .I'm going back to mtgs. Monday mornings at 8:30. That's very early for me, but it'll get me up and moving. That means I'll be up at 7 Sat, Sun and Mon. I usually get up at 8 am. during the week.I decided last night I do my best when I attend meetings. Accountability is what I need and meetings give m that. It's been 2 years or more since I've been to one. emoticon

The board meeting wasn't as bad as I thought, but it showcased the shortcomings of our site manager. The owners present were baffled, the board was frustrated, but we couldn't discuss anything about the problem in front of them. But the board agreed that we need to search for a new employee. They are hard to find, though. A smart person could learn it and pass the licensing exam within two years, but how on earth do you determine intelligence prior to a hire? You can check references to be sure a prospect shows up for work on time and does a task, but when there is only one employee it requires complete understanding of the whole operation in advance of learning it. It's tough.

Melinda, I sold Avon way back when you had to buy a territory, and you were only allowed to sell to homes within that territory. It wasn't enough money to make much of a difference, but there were women (they were all women) who made a serious income from Avon. They were the ones who treated it like a real business and took it seriously. But like any business, it was a lot of work. I got hooked on Avon products, though, and buy them online to this day, giving all credit to an agent I haven't laid eyes on in years. She still must be selling because she still shows up as an active agent.

Good morning!

Perfect! SLWATTS. Good for you.

So,Nell how did the condo meeting go? I know you've been talking about a change in management.

Terri, I hope you did get to follow through with your plans!

BeachComber if you have a smart phone you an download the app, and choose either use the full app, or just the Connect portion. Connect is also going to be available online, Currently we can only view the Connect content on the WW website, but not comment or post. Hopefully that will change sooner rather than later.

Yesterday I got 9999 steps. Ha! I spent a lot of time at my desk. I'm cherishing these low numbers because I know this won't last. I am leaving our enrollment low for one more week, due to staffing issues, then I have three more starting, family vacations that are ending, and soon it will be Sept and we will be back to full enrollment! Craziness.

I also became an Avon Rep. to help my daughter. I told her as long as she helps promote Avon at college, any and all money I earn will do directly to her for whatever she chooses. This is an idea she likes! So far my first couple of weeks has gone well. Of course my first order was from her, with MY credit card. :)

I'm still babying my knee for two more days. So no kickboxing today. :( I did not schedule myself out of the room, just to ensure I don't decide to "just give it a go!".

Have a good one!

Thanks for the welcome everyone...

well today my husband and I went to Gettysburg, Pa to walk around the battlefield. It was nice to walk and relearn about a part of history that I remember some and but learned more.. It was a good day with my husband and I got walking in...

We looked over the restaurants, and I know I am not good at a buffets- because they always end up with me overeating.. so we found a sit down restaurant that had some salads. So my husband and I ate salad- I had them remove the candied pecans and serve the cheese on the side along with the dressing.. and added roasted chicken... We did great- and it was a good day.

Hope all things went well for everyone.

We are supposed to be on our way this morning to Paso to look at more houses. I am up but hubby did not have a good nightís sleep and is not feeling so well. If he can get a few good hours of sleep this morning, we will probably still go. If not, we may have to postpone our plans. emoticon

Good morning everyone!

It is a hot one here. I probably will try to stay inside most of the day. I may go for an evening walk with my dog when the pavement cools.

Nell- Good luck at the meeting tonight. I hope it will be better than you expect it to be.

I liked that comment about the brain being 50. I walk to our office which is all the way down a long hall and then remember something I need from my classroom. This happens often because my brain is 50 too! emoticon

That WW app sounds great. I am using an old WW system so I do not have anything fancy like that. emoticon

Good morning!

Just a quick one today. We only had 16 children yesterday, and I have 3 Teachers plus a volunteer, so I stayed back and got tons done in the office! I still managed over 11K steps! That is what happens when the office is upstairs and the classroom is down, and your brain is 50!

The AP is the first time in my life that I have felt in control of what is going on. I can write my food diary with complete confidence that it is private- I can see how my exercise fits in... I couldn't be happier with it. When I need some energy I can see the people who are reporting success. This is the perfect AP for me...

I went for Mexican food and was really dreading that I would not be able to keep in points- and found a seafood soup- clear broth with veggies and several seafood- shrimp, white fish, and clams. I was so happy- it tasted wonderful and it was within the plan easily... happy girl

Hi- I am new to WW and new to this team. I have tried WW years ago and resisted going on for ages as I never had much success, and have been trying to figure out how to loose 50 lbs- the program I worked on was just like smart points.. and when I heard it I am decided to give WW another whirl. The moble AP has been my salvation. I can manage my program much better with the record keeping I am doing there... I have been on for two weeks and walking every day- and loosing for the first time in ages... and with a program I am believe that this is the way I should be eating- low sugar and good quality fruits, veggies and protein. Looking forward to seeing people here..now I am going for a walk!!! emoticon

Hello everybody!

Terri - I am glad your house sold quickly! Nell is right, you will get lots of exercise moving. I try to go through the house once or twice a year to get rid of excess but I know I would do even more if I knew I had to pack everything!

Melinda- I hope you and the kiddos enjoy your day at the nature center. I spend most of my field trip days frantically counting heads! emoticon

I got out early today and spent an hour weeding my flower beds. I feel pretty good about that. I will try to take my dog for a walk later today. I need to move more!

Great workout day yesterday. Also got the first wave of paperwork done on the house. Today I have my trainer and hubby has his boysí lunch. My plan is to work on the downstairs closet. It has all our ďcowboyĒ clothes (clothes we wear when we used to shoot at events all the time). I will have to try most of it on to see if I want to keep it and will be seriously evaluating the clothes and only keeping some of them. We plan to start shooting again when we relocate, but I certainly donít need a whole closet full of clothes! emoticon

We leave for Paso tomorrow. The house hunt begins in earnest. I will start packing for that too. That wonít take too long. My daughter turned on the fridge in our trailer, so we can use it when we get there. emoticon Our plan is to come back Saturday or Sunday.

Nell ~ emoticon emoticon

Melinda ~ Enjoy nature! emoticon

Thinking about a smoothie this morning, but oatmeal may win out since Iíve got to be ready for what my trainer may throw my way!

Good morning,
Nell, wow! That is a scary story. I agree, we should not rely on internet alone. I do think with my knee I'm pretty sure it is bursitis. I remember having it one other time, several years ago. That time I had been at skating practice, hit a very VERY tiny little bead on the floor, and stopped dead! Slammed down directly on my knee. Other than obvious immediate pain, there seemed to be no ramifications, until almost a week later when my knee was the size of a soft ball. I did go to the Ortho that time. They had to drain my knee. ouch! This time I can't place any precipitating event other than life, but the feeling is the same, and it is getting better since I have not worked out since Sunday. I'm still getting over 11k steps in, so I'm definitely moving it.

Terri, Yahoo! I can't imagine how my mom moved so many times. Packing up is crazy! Though is sounds like you have already done a lot of pre work in that area just getting ready to sell.

Today I will be at a beautiful Nature Center all day with my class. That will also be a workout! :)

Have a good one.

Terri, if you are doing your own packing, you won't need a gym until you are settled in your new house. Remember the two primary rules of moving: you always have more stuff than you think you do, and it always takes longer than you think it will.

And, of course, it's all worth it! emoticon

Our house sold. emoticon We are now on a 30 day clock to move. Fingers crossed that all goes smooth. Hubby and I will be on a daily mission to accomplish something related to the move. Today we will be filling out disclosure paperwork and putting together our to do list. Excited and nervous all at the same time. emoticon emoticon

I have my circuit training class this morning. I will not let this major change get in the way of my health. If hubby wants to go to the gym, I will go with him. But because I walk to and from my class, I donít have to go. emoticon

Sandy ~ It is nice that you are enjoying your kids. emoticon That doesnít always happen!

Melinda ~ Hope you get your knee to cooperate and pain free soon. We sold for $5K under asking. We are happy that it only took 3 weeks and with the selling price. emoticon

Melinda, you should get to an orthopedist for a real diagnosis. I went through something like this last fall. My neck had been getting tireder and tireder, I could barely hold my head while bowing over, like cutting vegetables or reading a book, and I had to lift my head with my hands out of the hairdresser's sink, I couldn't do it on my own. I did my internet research and thought I just needed to strengthen my neck muscles. I finally went to the doc, and it turned out that my neck vertebrae were displaced, I was a gnat's eyelash from a severed spinal cord, and it required surgery right away. Nowhere online did I find my problem, just similar problems that weren't as bad but looked the same to my non-medical eyes. If I'd done the exercises I found online, I'd be in an electric wheelchair right now.

Good morning,
Sandi, I get it. Love summer when my girls were little. Also love them going back to school. Now however, if I could stay home with Xavier and home school him, I would. :) We take my baby girl to college next week! I can't believe it. My older one didn't go to college, so this is new for me.

Woke up yesterday with a very tight knee. Research says Bursitis. I'm surprised, because I would assume this would happen more likely after a great workout. While I worked hard on Sunday I would not consider it a workout. I did climb a ladder and a stair case many many times, but I didn't think that was any big deal. So, no work out yesterday, and since I just got my hair done, swimming is out of the question! So no workout today. eerrr.... I highly doubt I will rest it as long as the internet says, because that would be impossible.

Terri, I hope they accept your counter offer. When we sold, we got offers right off the bat, but didn't accept them. We finally sold for over our asking price!

Evening Everyone, Well today got paid and we went food shopping and we saw a big fire off one of the highway. they said it burned over 1500 aches and was out of control. They were blocking streets so we had to go a different way. I feel bad for the people who live in that area you know. We was a bit cooler today we reach 97 so not too bad. The kids are so excited that school is Wednesday. My other son don't start still Aug 15th for his high school. We pretty much have everything for them. I got each two outfits and sneakers and backpack filled with supplies.
Today I did some pool exercises that was fun. It was different so I enjoyed it. My in-laws come back from their vacation as they went to NY to visit family and hubby going tomorrow night to pick them up from the air port. Everything is good on my end just been relaxing and enjoying what time I have left with the kids before they off to school. One side of me is happy that they going back and the other said eof me is not. Anyone one else feels like this??
Well hope everyone is well and doing good. I am off to watch a movie with hubby. Night all

Congrats to you both Terri and Happy Belated Anniversary. Also Congrats Terri on the new offer....

Finally got to the gym. Yeah! It felt good. I canít go to my TRX class this morning because we are having out of town family visit. But my plan is to go once our visit is over. emoticon I am guessing they will be leaving our house around noon or so.

Yesterday was very full of selling house stuff. In addition to going over the offer and submitting a counter offer, we had another open house. We will wait and see if our counter is accepted. Both hubby and I are firm on the price and are willing to let this buyer go if it is not accepted. emoticon

Nell ~ The offer was not exactly what we had in mind. emoticon But hubby and I are in agreement. We will wait and see.

Melinda ~ What a great day for you and your daughter. emoticon

Good morning,

Little man is feeling better, but is giving my husband a run for his money right now at 3:30am!

The hard part is, my daughter does struggle, which is why we adopted her first son, and the little one lived with us his whole first year, and she does have an open CPS case in our county. I agree, docs DO need to be vigilant. Especially in the county she is now living in. This has just really thrown her for a loop, as she is clean, sober a year on Sept 17th, and living in a supported situation. I believe the doc made a mistake in saying little one has been sick for two weeks. Anyway, this is another opportunity for her to practice her new skills in handling "life as it comes".

I took her out to the Ren Grounds with me yesterday. While the grounds are beautiful, they are in the woods! 7 weeks a year humans take over. The rest of the time it is up to nature to do as it will. My booth has hornets, a bat, bugs, mice and Lord knows what out back. She worked her little patootie off and never complained once. We didn't eat lunch until late, and still she just worked. This is a first and I am proud of her.

Today back to reality.
Have a good one.

Congrats on the offer, Terri! I hope it turns out to be what you want.

Melinda, your daughter should contact an attorney if CPS contacts her. I have a friend whose teenage daughter reported her to the school for child abuse. In reality, she wasn't allowed to hang out with certain friends, and this was her way of getting back at her mother. Unfortunately, the blot was on her record, and she was never allowed again to help with school activities, even though the daughter admitted to making up the charges. A lawyer might have gotten the false charges expunged. As it was it was there, just with a "resolved" note. People using the legal system to try to make money off of errors have ended up criminalizing errors. The ER doc has probably erred in the other direction once and gotten into trouble, so now the hospital if probably insisting on charging everyone just to cover potential liability. I can't blame him, but it's tough on everyone.

Home Sweet HomeÖ.at least for a little while. Our agent called last night and we have our first offer. emoticon No particulars at all. He will be here at 11 to go over it. We also have an open house today from 2 Ė 4. Hubby and I are talking about going to a movie maybe.

Off to the gym this morning. I so need it. emoticon I need to get better on alternate exercise when the gym doesnít work out (no pun intended). I bring my stuff (jump rope, bands, etc.) but just canít seem to pull the trigger.

Beachcomber ~ And when they arenít practicing with their teams, their dad has them outside practicing. They love itÖ.so far. So it is a win-win for all! emoticon

Sandy ~ Looks like we got married in the same year. emoticon Hubby and I celebrated 16 years in June!

Melinda ~ The doctors now days are IMHO a little over zealous with the child abuse accusations. But if it saves one and is inconvenient for some, I guess it works. emoticon

Coffee and a banana this morning before heading out to the gym.

Good morning,

We have our grandson again right now. We usually have him Sunday evening until Tues afternoon. However, on Friday our daughter took him to the ER. He has pneumonia. He was running a temp up to 104.5 most of the day yesterday, so I spent my day sitting with him.

The hospital accused our daughter of being neglectful. I anticipate she will be hearing from Child Protection in that county this week. The kicker is she is absolutely hyper vigilant. She called to tell me he had a fever. She wants to take him in every time he has one. I said, yup. He's cutting 4 teeth. Fevers happen. (she didn't tell me he was breathing weird, or coughing) When he was with us last week, he was just looking like he may be starting a little cold. On the 1st he went to his well baby check, seeing "his" doctor, not just a random one (the same doc my all my kids have seen) and he was just fine. The ER doc says he has had this for more than 2 weeks. I really don't think so. Should be an interesting week this week, as we watch how this plays out. I believe the ER doc made a mistake.

Today I am heading out to our Ren. Faire grounds to work work work. That will be my workout today. My husband and 18 year plus a friend will be here with our son and grandbaby. The weather promises to be great.

Hi Everyone, How is everyone Saturday going? Hope all is well...

Well my Anniversary was nice and I even stay within my calories and I even had a glass of wine too. The kids made us homemade cards. We went and played putt putt mini golf as a family. We all had fun too. Can't believe 16 years went by quickly. Hubby said he would love to renew our wedding vows. I think that would be nice you know. Maybe for our next anniversary will have to check into it.
Yep the kids can't wait till school start back up. Well most of my kids anyway. We started getting their notice about school in the mail already. They changing the hours on the Elem school and also making it only from K to 5th. The six graders are going to middle school now. So middle school is now 6 to 8th. So we will have three kids in Elem and 2 kids in middle and one in high school.

I use to lived in Elmira NY and moved from there to Adelanto CA.

Wow Terri, it sounds like your granddaughter stays busy. My son played baseball for several years and a little soccer. I remember what it was like to be at the ball field several times a week. I think it is good for kids to stay busy.

When I was a kid I loved the library. I read all of the autobiographies, nancy drew, hardy boys, trixie beldon?, little house on the prairie, etc. I do remember the card catalogs and having books stamped with the return date. Are we showing our age? emoticon

Getting packed up and ready to hit the road soon. They lost their second game yesterday afternoon so they are out of the tournament. It was a great experience for my granddaughter. I can tell she is ready for a break. Now comes soccer for both of them and Fall ball for the younger one. emoticon emoticon

Nell ~ Oh I remember those card catalog days! emoticon

I LOVE the library! Favorite place on the planet. I enjoy both all the access I have online, and actually going in. I go pick up books for my classroom all the time.

Terri, I think I forgot, what sport is your granddaughter playing?

Have a good one folks.

Participate in life with enthusiasm.

Embrace your unique beauty and grace.

When someone tells me I can't, I turn around and say Watch me!

If I bought every book I read I'd go broke. Thank goodness for our county library!! It has 23 locations and I can reserve a book from any of them and pick it up at my local branch. Online access has made all the difference. I remember card catalogs, and checkouts that involved stamping a card that went into a pocket inside the back cover. Has it really only been 20 years?

I used to remember things based on where I was living at the time, we moved every 3 or 4 years. I've been in this house for 31 years, so I have to segment time by other things changing.

Granddaughter lost their game yesterday. Todayís game is at 9. If they lose one more, they are out. So I may be going home tomorrow. Holding out hope that they will battle through this bracket! emoticon

We had another house showing yesterday. Hubby got mantel painted and scheduled the shower door guy to clean the doors and floor pan. Still moving forward. We will probably drive down to Paso on Tuesday to meet with the Lake realtor and see what lots they have and what may be coming up for sale soon. emoticon

Melinda ~ Enjoy your day. emoticon

Beachcomber ~ The library is a great resource. I listen to books and get most if not all from the library (and it is all on line Ė I never go in!). emoticon

Youngest granddaughter slept with me last night. She wanted to have a sleepover with Nana. She is still slumbering away! I feel so fortunate at this time in my life. I want to pinch myself to make sure it is real! emoticon

Good morning everyone. I am kind of shy but I am going to try to pop in a little more frequently. emoticon It looks like I am in good company. I also just reserved a book at the library. My mother buys tons of books and I rarely need to go to the library or buy a book but she loaned me the first book in a trilogy and I just had to read the next one. I was so happy to think of the library. That saves me $20.00! emoticon
