somatoform disorder caused by anxiety, anyone eles

do you think celexa could cause somatoform disorder?

thank you all for your replies. yes it is not from the celexa cause before the celexa I was worse but developed ocd pretty bad while on celexa but that could just be from worrying so much. yes celexa makes me more hungry and almost carefree sometimes when it comes to eating unfortunalty

I suffer from Bipolar Disorder and also anxiety. It appears as chest pain. Several times I have ended up in the emergency room thinking I was having a heart attack.

I'm sorry you are having such troubles. I don't know anything about celexa, but it would be worth discussing with your Dr. you concerns. I don't know what your diagnosis is, but I have OCD and sometimes when it is really bad in manifests itself in a hypochondriac sort of way. When this happens I end up seeing my primary care dr. more than I know I need to. It usually means I need a med adjustment of some sort.

I hope that you will feel better soon. If talking to the Dr. or nurse isn't an option perhaps a call to the pharmacist would be helpful.

Have they ruled out it being a side effect of the Celexa? Just wondering.

I've seen you around & have been wanting to ask you about the Celexa also. I got a prescription for it recently, but after I got it, (thank goodness it was generic & therefore CHEAP), I read a bunch of places that it causes WEIGHT GAIN. "Oh NOoooooooo", I said. I've worked so hard these last few months to get off 8 lbs & have another 15 to go. (It's hard when you're 50, & doesn't get any easier with increased age)

Anyway - have you had that problem that you've noticed? I already hate the sexual side effects, but now I read that & don't want anything to do with it. But in the meantime, I've developed awful gastritis, & we all think it's largely from STRESS & anxiety.

hello I suffer from severe anxiety and I take celexa for it which knocks off the edge and helps alot with my anxiety but I now have somatoform disorder where its kinda like hypochindria although you bring on symptoms from constantly thinking about them. i am amazed at what the body can do from anxiety. for example I get a feeling like my skin is crawling with bugs under it and i am told this is from anxiety. my anxiety has caused so many problems for me. anyone eles have your anxiety caused more problems?
