I love the Nonna Camp idea and planning! I'm sure your granddaughter loves it!

For all - You may find this article on "How To: Organize to Get More Craft Projects Finished" by Pam Harris in craftzine.com: http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2011/06/

Hopefully you will find an interesting idea or two!

My 10-year-old granddaughter is coming today for a week of "Nonna Camp," so I think I'll let her decide what crafts she wants to work on rather than picking some myself. I'll write out several crafts (with supplies I have on hand) for her to choose from.
Last week when her sister and cousin came, I think things went easier because we were process-oriented instead of goal-oriented this time around. I didn't hurry them to finish their projects to take home for the family to see. I think sometimes we all get caught up in hurrying to finish something instead of just enjoying what we're doing.

Thanks - I like your ideas. The first approach captures all of the "somedays" while the second allows more targeted project timelines.

Happy, healthy crafting!!!

Not that I've done it lately, but one year I wrote out project titles on separate small pieces of paper, put them in a pretty box, and drew one out each week to work on. That way I had sort of a plan, but the process was still spontaneous.

McJulieO and I get together for crafts on Tuesdays each week, and at one time we were going through a book and working on projects from that book. Another time we wrote out our projects for the next three months. Neither form of planning worked for very long for doing a particular project, but setting aside a certain day each week -- and working with a buddy -- has helped me be more productive.

I'm just not really good at sticking to plans. One of my friends kids me that I dislike making a plan because it's a four-letter word.

Oh, I sooo need help with this too! I have ideas bookmarked, print outs stashed around, magazine racks filled with ideas that I'm not sure I could find again if I wanted to. I would love to find a way to organize my ideas so I can actually WORK on projectS!

Does anyone have suggestions for craft project planning? I feel like I have so many ideas of my own, magazine clippings, plans, etc., but I can't keep track of them. I'd like to be more organized and productive in my crafting life instead of squeezing in a random project based on the amount of time, materials, and need immediately in front of me. Help, please!!!!

-Jennifer
