I think we all have very good goals and ideas for this year. We all need to really believe in ourselves! I know I am a great preacher... but this year my actions will reflect my words!

I am doing the Boot Camp to jump start 2009. I have been slacking for a bit too long. I have gained 18 pounds since May '08. That was just dumb of me. I need to get focused and get to work!

I have found to help with time management planning meals is the best thing to do! I also got my daughter involved. Not only did it make her feel she was part of it, she learned a bit more about healthy foods. Having a menu planned may take the spontenaity out of life, but trust me the hour it takes to plan saves hours during the week.

My favorite cook book is the Eating for Life cookbook. The meals are all fairly quick to make, usually 30 minute meals. My whole family liked the menus from that book.

Happy 2009!

I'm excited about this year! I didn't make a resolution at all, but I have recommitted to myself. I have made a promise to myself, and not really discussed it with anyone else, to make a serious run at losing these 30 lbs of fat (or, as a personal trainer friend of mine calls it, "excess stored energy" emoticon she believes "fat" is a bad word)

Anyway, my main issue is time management. I love to knit and bead and play video games and read, I also home school my daughter, and let's not forget all the housewife duties... Those are the main time burners. Where to fit in Exercise?? When is there time to log onto SP and track my meals??

Well, time must be found. I must treat myself as I treat others. I must find alone time I can use for crafting, which I find very relaxing, almost meditative. I must make Myself and Fitness priorities in my life. My husband can fix his own dinner sometimes. The dishes can wait a little longer...

I am resolute, but that's not a resolution. emoticon

I haven't been on our treadmill since Last September... so I am going to become a walking fool again. I have never watched an eposide of the TV series called House.... but I heard it is good. We just bought the first 4 seasons of it, so I can start watching that while I walk on the threadmill.

Kelly,

I like the idea of a Monday sticky topic. I'm going to dust off my dvds and Wii Fit during the cold months and get motivated again!!!

The first thing I want to say to everyone is Happy New Year! I am looking forward to 2009 and the unknown possibilities we can all achieve this year. I started sparkpeople at the beginning of 2008, but I didn't take advantage of everything it had to offer. I was easily side track when devastating news and loss happened in my family. It makes you think that life is to short and the only one who can make me happy or change things is me.

I read that you should not set a New Years Resolution that just says you are going to lose weight. The article focused on making goals to achieve the bigger picture. It said you should set a goal that says you will walk 30 mins for 4 days a week... basically for weight lose.

I know I haven't been the best motivator for our group at times.... but that is going to be one of my personal goals. I want to see this group being more active, so we can all help each other out more. I can't believe we have over 200 members now, which is wonderful. If anyone is interested in being a co-leader for this group, please feel free to let me know. I figured the more the merrier.

I think we need to check in on everyone's progress this year with weight loss and projects you are doing. I think on Mondays we should start a sticking topic and do a weekly weight in. I know some people might want to do it bi weekly which is fine too. Whatever is best for you. I think it is important to log the progress, so I am personally using my sparkpage to log it every monday. If anyone has any suggestions on anything... let us know. We can set new team goals and do whatever we want because this is OUR team.

All the Best of 2009!
Kelly aka: Sunglorry
