I believe Kelly (SUNGLORRY) just made a stepping stone for Mother's Day, perhaps she can provide more ideas.

Thanks for the tip about plaster of paris cracking. I didn't realize that could be a problem.

I'll only have 3 or 4 kids, so a bag of concrete might be too much. I'll have to check and see what is the smallest amount I can get. I have a $40 budget for the whole week, so I'll have to see if that will fit in with everything else I want to do.

The ones I've seen use concrete from the Building supply store, instead of plaster of paris, which cracks easily. For molds, I've seen everything from boxes to metal rings, wooden frames, and of course all those special molds. If you go to a craft shop like Michaels, they should have at least a couple stepping stone kits. They have butterfly, flower, sun and moon, hummingbird, and other molds. Also plain ones for handprints, or mosaics.

Some of them come with dye to add to the concrete mix, and they usually sell the dye separate as well. Check the builder's supply store near you if you don't have a craft shop. Bags of concrete are still fairly reasonable, anyone know how many stepping stones per bag?

I have a friend that made enough stones for an entire patio and sidewalk, it's lovely.

I'm in the middle of the gardening thing, too. We decided it would be best to container garden. We've got three tomatoes, a bell pepper, a yellow squash, and a strawberry. My gran loves the little salad tomatoes so we have two of those, one sweet 100 and one yellow pear. Hopefully... no weeds to pull with that.

I'd love to get ideas for how to do stepping stones. I have the nursery class for VBS this summer. Our theme is God's Big Back Yard. I thought it would be cute to have a stepping stone with each kid's handprints. But, I have no idea how to even get started on it. I thought of using plaster of paris. But, I don't even know where to go from there. Any ideas? Suggestions?

He is, but being sick and going in circles trying to recover all my files and pictures, thousands of them, takes a lot of time. I'm still working on getting back my internet the way I had it. Still not there.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Was a nasty day yesterday to say the least. My Computer decided it had to have an upgrade of the Service Pack 3. What ever you do, don't allow it to do it. It messed my computer and I have spent 12 hours trying to get it straightened out and can't. DH will work on it more tomorrow. I can't even get my Internet back right and it keeps locking up right in the middle of trying to do my SP. Had picked up all of todays r-mails over 80 of them before the mess started amd had them in a folder to work on. Now, everylast one of my folders are gone unless I do a restore back to 4 PM, then it's lock up after lock up. If I put it back to 7pm it works better but no folders and no e-mail to do. Grrr. Am bummed and exhausted. Going to try and do my huddling and see if I can get away with it. Ended up going over my calories to boot. Like I said a nasty day. I sure hope tomorrows is better.
Poured last night and windy today. Got my Columbines planted yesterday fortunately as it will take hours today getting my computer straightened out.

Dorene, you'll get more than enough of weeding and planting.
Was busy today but too tired to do much. Went to a Yard sale and bought 5 large Columbine plants and a bunch of misc. The plants were supposed to be $3.50 each with a total for all of $22.50. The one at the check out said forget it, she didn't care and said make it 10 even. I jumped at it. Will get them planted tomorrow.

I went to our local library book sale and I bought about 12 books on all different crafting ideas. I have so many books now with my ever growing collection and so little time to actually make things :)

Isn't it great when you find a craft you want to work on, and the customers like it, too! I'm always excited about that!

I never stay ahead of the weeds, and if the Herculean effort they are staging this spring is any sign, I have no hope! They are growing like. . .well, like weeds!

I can't believe the weeds are starting to come out! I feel like I am always trying keep up with it.... and the weekends fly by so fast. I am determined this season to stay on top of the flower and weeds this year :)

I also am making Mosaic Plant stands and I was shocked how many people were totally into them at the art show this past weekend! I told my husband we need to go buy as many stands as I can find now, so I can Mosaic them!!!

Wow everyone is so busy, we actually still have snow. Yuck. North Dakota is so cold. I am busy finishing my lingering knitting projects from the winter, and also I'm ready for some spring cleaning to start, need some time at home first. Hope everyone finishes their lists.

Goal1: Stay on Track!!!!
Goal 2:Consistently exercise, and stay active. At least three times per week.

It's a long road but I've got my walking shoes on. Is anyone with me?

I am just going to be doing the usual. Getting everything ready for summer time craft shows. The springs ones around where I live aren't to great because the tourists are the big buyers and just aren't up yet.

Sounds like you're both going to be very busy! Right now, my main project is finishing up spinning some yarn. A historical society does special school visits, and lets the children weave rugs. I try to make up some naturally dyed and handspun yarn for them to use, but I haven't spun in a long time, and their supply is getting low. Good impetus to sit down and do some spinning, so that's my current project.

I have a wall hanging of a Butterfly with the body as a pouch for flower arrangements that I want to make. But also right now my biggest and most important project is getting my 3,000 pictures on the computer so I can make some CD's and send copies to all my family.

Now that Spring is in the air.... and the snow is finally gone (I live in Ohio) I can't wait to enjoy the sunshine. Does anyone have any art & craft shows this spring? Any big projects around the house or fun activities you and your families are doing?

I have an art show on May 4th, which I have been very focused on. I made alot of stained and fused glass windchimes and I even tried to make some mosaic plant stands. I thought those might be some spring type of things to sell. My husband and I just did spring clean up in our Koi pond last weekend. This was the first time we experienced anything like that since we just put in the pond last June. All of our fish did well over the winter and I was surprised how big they got. I think we are going to try and attempt clearing out some of our flower beds to get ready to plant this weekend!
