Hi JADZEAMAY,

I have alot of food allergies, too, and have to be careful what I eat anymore, so I understand. I suffered with Epstein Barr Virus for 5 years and found out I had developed alot of food allergies that were shutting down my immune system and I had one infection after another. Spent more time at my doctor's office than I did at home or work ~ or so it seemed.

I was sleeping 20 to 22 hours a day and if I woke up with a little sore throat in the morning, by noon, I was coughing horribly and unable to talk. It was a miserable time until I found out about the food allergies and went on the Candida Diet. My system is a bit stronger today but I still have to be careful not to let some of those foods build up in my system or I get sick again.

As time has gone on, I have learned bits and pieces on how to help make my system a bit stronger. I am a very picky eater and always have been but with the food allergies, it gave me even less food to enjoy so it's been a battle at times to "be good". I can't take flu shots either and have gotten sick each time I've had one so I don't take them anymore (and I'm not allergic to eggs which used to be one of the problems).

I still have a weak immune system, partly caused by the post polio, so I now take 8 to 10 garlic capsules whenever I feel anything coming on. I was coming down with a very sore throat last year and just knew I was going to have to see a doctor but started the garlic and took some Claritin D and Robitussin DM and felt much better by the next day ~ never saw a doctor either.

Another thing I learned a couple of years ago from a friend whose nephew is a doctor. To kill germs in the house, put a large pot of vinegar water on the stove and simmer it on low heat all day, adding water as needed. Use only a teflon-like pan because it can ruin an aluminum one. I put about a cup of vinegar in a dutch oven and filled it with water, and kept it on low. I usually 'cook' it for a couple of days and I turn on the furnace fan so it will go into the air ducts where many germs breed like mad.

You can also put a large crockpot of vinegar water in your bedroom to kill the germs in there, especially good if your kitchen isn't close to your bedroom. If you do this while you are sleeping, tip the lid a little so it will filter into the room a little at a time ~ also adds moisture to the air so the sinuses don't get so dry.

You can put the water in a pitcher or something and save it and use it again the next week or whenever you need it. I have also put some in a glass bowl or a spray bottle and used it to clean door knobs and wipe down doors and counter tops where we might place our hands and I use it to clean the phone.

Many people drink vinegar in water, claiming it boosts their immune system and it might, but vinegar or anything fermented are things I have to avoid or I get sick. If I need to boost my immune system, I drink cranberry juice and take the garlic capsules.

You two have your hands full with your health problems but you have a good marriage despite the problems you've been faced with. Hope you can get your ring fixed or find a way to wear them occasionally. Take care and have a great day

Carol :)

Others have but, I haven't. Didn't know about it till today. We don't spend money on that kind of stuff either. Though he does want to get me Wedding Ring fixed as I haven't been able to wear it in years. I'm allergic to the White and Yellow gold in it and after having it on for a couple of hours, my finger starts swelling. Began having problems after our 3rd and last was born. I became allergic to life, and that's no joke. 44 foods and food groups, dozens of airborne and molds etc, all Chemicals whether you can smell them or not, exhaust and cigarette smoke whether in the air, on someones breath and clothes or stale smoke and smoke from fires. Makes life real interesting to say the least. The chemicals start shutting down my heart and lungs. Since my hubby has no upper imune system for colds and flu's, he was born without one and never developed one, I have to do the shopping. If someone sneezes or coughs anywhere around him, he can have pneumonia within days. He worked for a City for 27 1/2 years and 1 year they made them get hepatitis B shots for protection and it didn't take so he had to have another one and they make you real sick. He also had a flu shot that year and got all 7 kinds of the flu that was in it and also got pneumonia 5 times. He only worked 2 weeks in 3 months that year. Fortunately he had alot of sick leave built up or we would have been i trouble. After that, they had him work by himself 99% of the time so he wouldn't come in contact with the other guys germs. He did that the last several years till he could take early retirement. Was not fun.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

That is absolutely wonderful to hear. How sad that young people today don't work harder to preserve their marriages like you and my brothers did. My older brother was married almost 35 years (in Aug) when he passed away last July. My younger brother has been married 34 years this coming June.

I did find lots of good things on there and sent it to him a little while ago. My birthday is two days after our anniversary so I also included a birthday list ~ lol

I'm not much into jewelry and personally, won't spend alot of money on any one item so when I saw one ring on there for $63,000.00, I think I fainted ~ lol Should have put that on my wish list as a joke but didn't think about it emoticon

I think some of my friends think I'm crazy because most of the time, I'd rather spend the money on more practical things that we need around the house instead of on jewelry or items like that. Guess I'm just a bird of a different feather..... emoticon

BTW, I'm going to go to overstock.com later and buy him a digital camera so we'll both benefit. I do need to figure out how to order so SP benefits ~ I didn't look to see how all that was done since I haven't ordered anything yet.... hmmmm Anyone else know?

Thanks for letting us know about this. I've saved it in my favorites and have been browsing some of the sites. Couldn't get the Tupperware site to come up, though, so now I'm browsing jewelry ideas and sending them to my husband for our 5th wedding anniversary which is in Sept :) emoticon

I stole this from a different team but I thought we should all know about it.

I'm probably way behind the times but I just found out about the shopping club today. Spark earns money from several online merchants such as Amazon, Ebay, Shutterfly, etc. if we use the link in the Spark Shopping Club when purchasing from those sites. I just added the link to my team favorites and will be doing a post for my team. You can find more information by clicking on "Spread the Spark" and then "Other Ways You Can Spread the Spark"

I for one love that Spark is free and will do whatever I need to keep it that way.
