tHnks for all the great tips, todays the day! I didnt sleep well and my back is acting crazy but my goal is to get out there and do it for me if i need to walk ill walk emoticon Im still new to all of this running in races so I tend to get nervous i just hope i can Poop before LOL emoticon emoticon

I usually run easy for a few miles the day before or cross train. I wouldn't do any strength training though. Even if it is just upper body, you would be surprised how much you use that in the race!!! Good luck and have fun.

Thanks all... I decided I had to get in the gym this morning but it was an easy 30 min bike ride and some crunches. so tommarow is the BIG DAY - 20K!!!!! Im freaking out this will be the longest run that i have done yet. emoticon it will be fun for sure. It suck though my girlfriend cant make this run with me emoticon

I typically take a rest day before long run and the day after like to do either very light activity or yoga. I prefer yoga (if my kids let me, lol) as it feels great to stretch out after all that hard work.

You'll do great!

Hi Rebecca! The day before a long training run, I usually take as a rest day. The day after I usually do some non-running exercise, like cycling. It helps the muscles recover.

Hi y'all I'm Rebecca and I'm in training for a Half marathon. This Saturday is my first 20K!!!! is it good or bad to do some light exercise the day before ie; bike, sit ups, row machine, push ups, stretching?? I know the day after i will not do a thing, but i feel as if i should do something the day before??? please help! emoticon emoticon emoticon
