Kelly- The pool is the one place I love too!! Water is my peaceful place since I grew up living right on the ocean. I swim laps for exercise.

I am here anytime you want to vent. Not having your body what you want it to do can be scary and frustrating. I think the only other people who really understand are those that have MS.

I am so grateful that I found this team!

Kelly

BARRISTER2011 - Thanks for listening and offering words of encouragement. That definitely goes a long way. That must be difficult in court, I can only imagine.

I'm glad you brought up needing to rest. I think that may have played a part in it. I didn't realize I was tired, but I must have been. The next day a friend of mine was feeling really down and I had her over and stayed up very late talking to her. The next day, I could barely get out of bed, literally. Unfortunately, my friend chain smokes and even though we were outside, I think it may have affected me.

Anyway, I'm glad you are able to have a lazy Sunday, sounds fabulous! As for me, when I'm not working, I spend a lot of time in the pool. That's the one place I feel happy and have some energy.

Have a great weekend!

Kelly- You are not alone. This happens to me quite often as well. You can imagine my embarrassment when it happens in court!

Usually, when I notice this happening I take it as a sign that I need to rest. So I try to take it easy for a few days. Even though it goes against the Spark rule of exercise I don't even exercise when this happens. I don't know if this will help you or not but it does for me.

I make myself have a lazy Sunday every week. I find that if I don't do this I have an extra hard time making it through the week. I know not everyone can take a full day to rest but my family and friends know this is a must for me.

I'm just as smart as I used to be, but sometimes I can't find the right words, slur or completely forget what I was talking about, in mid sentence. Actually, I usually love that I can act as bonkers as I want and get away with it.

Ohhh; I'm sorry Kelly. MS throws us so many losses. Although I dislike things that slow down/imapir my physical abilities, I think that cognitive losses are harder for me to accept. Although my college grades were not a 4.0, like yours, they were good, and being unable to play a simple game would be a big blow.

Perhaps you were having a bad day, and trying the game another day might yield different results? Or, perhaps, a different game might access different cognitive abilities than that one, and those might be intact?

Not sure that these are actually suggestions, or, even very encouraging. But, yeah. Come here to vent any time. We "get it". Although we all vary in our exact symptoms, and in the degree, we can all relate to the emotions that we encounter when it appears that we have lost yet another ability.

Hi Kelly! There are days you will have difficulties and other days when you will be at the top of your game...not to mention you are at work and that is distracting even if you think it isn't....keep doing games and you will find new pathways will open up in your brain....and you need a diagnosis to get on medicine and that will help too...

Hi everyone. I was just on the games section here and I tried a very simple game at the easiest level and I couldn't do it. I am SO sad. I have had subtle cognitive changes for a while, but recently, I seem to be going downhill rather quickly. I know that cognitive changes don't mean you are less intelligent, I am just freaking out because I had a 4.0 in college a few years ago and now I can't even play a very simple game. I am at work, so I am trying not to cry. Imagine trying to explain that! Thanks for letting me vent. If anyone has any suggestions or words of encouragement, I would love to hear them.

Thank You,
Kelly emoticon
