Lindie, did you get to the exhibit? I don't like rides either but I enjoy seeing the people at events like that. My favorite Chinese dishes are sweet and sour or sesame options.

Dianne, I have the same question as Cathy, is your DD performing in a choir in New Orleans? I do hope you can find a better home that will appreciate your time and talent.

Cathy, enjoy your quiet weekend. I hope DH listens and wears the brace the next time you go out.

Terri, does your home look like a canning factory yet?

Anne and others, I have done day care for a very long time and found that it does take a full month for everyone to get into a pattern. Right now I am taking it one day at a time. Last night I spent a couple of hours going through slow cooker cookbooks ( sorry, Anne) for meals for the week because I know I will not want to cook at the end of the day.

We will have four people staying here next weekend so we are trying to get the house ready slowly this weekend and through the week. I don't have much energy but we have gotten through the farmers market this morning and I have cleared the dining room so it is no longer a catch-all place. Next up is the family room and then we are going to the annual Riverfront Jazz Festival in the park. It is a bit cool but we'll wear layers so we'll be fine. I better get back to work...

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning Friends, Cathy the PNE is the Pacific National Exhibition - like a state fair but provincial - they will have petting zoos for the kiddies, a house that they give away - course you have to buy the tickets, I never do, I dont' care for the house(s), other places, for rides, ring toss, that kind of stuff, but also an eatery and other events we can check out -I am not into rides or ring toss environment, so will just go look at the exhibits ... Not surprised that you got an "orange" small bin LOL I guess DH will have to address his medical issues one at a time, but it will be good for him to be "active" in some way. I am sure you will leave him direction lol.

It's raining right now but suppose to clear up this afternoon. Time to get ready for my meeting at the Kingdom Hall, have a good day everyone !

Dianne, hope you can find another place to go use your talents. Are you going to New Orleans because DD3's group will be performing? You will hear some amazing music there. Are you using timeshare points to stay there? Sure hope no storms in the works when you go down there. Of course no one takes care of those animals the same way because it is not their job on the line. Hope the newbies are willing to learn and are good workers. Glad your mom's ceiling is almost done and hope those new windows get put in before the cold really hits there. I know i really appreciate my new windows compared to what we had, it makes such a difference.in heating and cooling.
Lindie, what is PNE? Not a bad price to go there for you. Hopefully she will work out with the kids. Once we get into a routine I am hoping it all smooths out. I did buy some food supplies yesterday and an orange small bin to keep them in at school.
Dh did go shopping with me--but his back was really bothering him. I told him he needs to wear the back brace when he goes out from now on to see if that helps. He did say his ankle didn't bother him but the bottom of the feet where he cut the callouses off were a bit tender.
We went to my church last night for supper and ladies and men's meeting. I need to clean out the fridge tonight for dinner---LOL
Nothing really planned for today.

Good evening Friends, Friday is almost over and it has been a low key day after a day of shopping or two and two loads of laundry and cleaning up spilt coffee under the stove.

The little flies are still around but we do have sticky paper out to catch themj, they are quicker then our swatter ! LOL or I am really slow !

WE may go to the PNE tomorrow but it is still up in the air - I get in for 9.00 because I am a senior ! But there is not a whole lot I want to see, so if I don't go that is ok too ...

Dianne welcome back and glad you had such a good time on the cruise - I will look forward to seeing your pictures. It's unfortunate how you are being treated at the home, considering you do this as a volunteer with no payment - maybe find another place where your efforts would be appreciated... I hope the hurricane does not have an affect on New Orleans as well.

Betsy, glad you found your keys FINALLY !! LOL one place you never thought to look, right ? Hope you have a quiet weekend so you can be refreshed for the work week. My favourite chinese is chicken chow mein with broccolie and crispy noodle !

Cathy, I sure hope that teacher calms down some and LISTENS to you since you KNOW the behaviour of these special need students. It's one thing to have experience in it but totally another to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to things that she should be interested in knowing. I hope her being late is nipped in the bud as well, not very thoughtful of her to be late all the time, not a very good planner by the sounds of it .... I know you will look forward to time in the garden area and good that DH was released from the wound place, now lets hope he keeps an eye on it and behaves LOL

Terri, glad you are back and got a lot of canning jars as it sounds like you will be real busy but with lots of helping hands ! How is Steve doing with the steps and the other project(s) you want done ?

Anne, money over ? I am sure you will find out why. It's too bad you did not get your nap as planned. maybe you as well can have a relaxing weekend.

I still need 2000 steps so I best get stepping !!! emoticon

Yes, it was a Disney cruise--so the characters were around but always with a big line so we didn't try for any photos. I did get one of Cinderella to show to the folks at the home. It was so fun--and I need to get DH to help me find the photos so I can easily put them up.

We had cool when we got home but the AC is on again--drat. I am looking forward to fall--a nice long fall would be great. I also have to get ready for New Orleans--I leave on the 14th! I sure hope we don't have any issue with hurricanes--I guess one year they had to MOVE the whole convention due to weather/damage--that must have been not fun and $$ for all. I am going for the Sweet Adelines International Contest/convention/singing.

Anne--hope you have located the error. I think you should suggest it was a tip to you!

Betsy--glad you are getting back into things slowly and easily. I know it was harder on me than the baby when I went back to work!! And I am so glad 1) you found the keys 2) DH doesn't need the surgery 3) you have done so well in the 5% Challenge. I may have only gained 2-3 pounds--hubby has already dropped his gain. ARG!

Terri--I'll bet you are busy with canning. My mom may do some tomato juice but that is about it. At 82, she doesn't have the gumption she used to. They are getting the ceiling completed--finally! It has taken all summer to get that room done--and they haven't started the windows upstairs that we are paying for--they need to be replaced.

Cathy--sorry the summer has come to an end--and really sorry that Andy wasn't checking in before he realized that your DH's troubles may impact him....kids sometimes don't think. I hope the new teacher works out--can you request a transfer if she doesn't? How close are you to just retiring?

Lindie--sounds like you had a busy week. We had rain/cool weather till we got back to Vancouver and they were glad of the rain in Alaska. Now when you talk about your Compass pass, etc, I know what you mean!!

I am not going to see my Alzheimer folks today. They have entertainment and I was basically told not to come after to sing or anything. I do need to find another place--or just stop trying to work back there--I could volunteer up front or just sign in to visit people and not worry about the volunteering. I may have to ask about that. Our adopted grandparents move into another, brand-new home in October so I will be going there to see them and may volunteer there instead. Really don't want to leave--I love my people but....when you aren't wanted....

So--I'll see Bob. I also need to make well woman, regular physical and and ENT appointment. My hearing is going--and I have known it for a year...but I don't really want it verified! So--better get at it.

Oh--DD2 went home Tuesday at noon--she is trying to teach the 2 new folks about the critters but will be doing animal care for the next while. She was not real pleased to see how things had been done while she was gone but all the critters were alive. She did her big shop last night to replenish her pantry. DD3 is trying to make up her Monday hours--plus 2 hours from Tuesday cause she dragged in a bit late. She had her vacation figured but I guess planned to make up those hours--just hard to do when tired.

The one time we felt the waves we were open ocean but pretty close to shore. The Inside Passage is good that you really aren't out in the ocean much but the waves can still build up and get into those areas, I guess. Glad I wasn't planning a cruise in the Caribbean right now!

Betsy, woohoo on finding those lost keys and having help with the kids yesterday. Always nice to have help at any time in your situation---esp. because you have another adult to talk to. That's one reason I could never do your job--I like to be around people.
Terri, glad the fruit trees seem to be doing well and that at the moment you don't have to worry about mowing grass there since it has died back. Will it come back with rain? Nice that you were also able to get those canning jars as you will need them for the fish next week. Good luck with the cobwebs and the dust---never ending chore for us all.
Dianne, sounds like a nice trip. Was this a Disney cruise? I didn't realize that---I did just read something about Disney doing an Alaska cruise. Woohoo that your Dh wants to take another one. I like the idea of being able to sample the different desserts instead of having to pick one when so many look yummy. Looking forward to the pictures. When will DD2 go back to her new place and take over the animals again?
Anne, hope you figure out the overage easily this morning---at least that is better than a big shortage. Glad you slept better. I will do a bit of volunteering at the high school greenhouses in another week or 2--but not that busy in the Fall as we only have mums, pansies, and a few perennials. But I did talk to the science teacher that does the gardens at my school and offered my help if he wants it. He wants to convert the raised beds to hoop frames to grow cool crops all winter long. Just me and the teacher this year so it is going to be hard for me to have any breaks this year during the day---I will be glad to leave at 2:45 if that is the case. But she is providing a water cooler in the classroom and a Kuerig so I like that. HOpefully she won't be so scatter brained as Amy was---LOL
Went to the foot doctor---he prescribed something new for Dh's ankle and cut off his callouses. Then later we went to the wound doctor---and great news there---he was released from there but was told that if he saw any sign of this occuring again, he is to call them right away so as not to let it get that bad again. So we had a little chat on the way home that now he needed to start picking up the slack slowly---I don't mind doing a few of the chores now and then but not all the time with being back to work. He does want to go shopping today---his offer---as I want to go to Big Lots which isn't that big and he wants to go to Food Lion, too. I need to do some laundry today but otherwise nothing else planned.
It is nice enough this morning to have the front door open for a while---we will shut back up when we run errands as it will get warmer later on but I am enjoying some fresh air while I can. They are saying we might get some rain/wind by the end of next week from the storm but still iffy since they really don't know what that storm is going to do.

Good morning!

Betsy, yay to finding the keys! Hope the daycare settles down faster than a month! We do like Moo Goo Gai Pan, but it is a bit boring so we don't order it very often.

Dianne, welcome back...sounds like great touring even with rainy, overcast weather. I would have been awake just like DD1 & DD3 with those swells! Were you near the coast at the time or out to sea? Looking forward to pictures!

Terri, glad you were able to fix the car and head home as planned, though a bit delayed! Too funny about needing to kick Ali and Pablo out...wishing them well as they adjust to no longer being home schooled! Glad the fruit trees were doing well!

Cathy, glad Howard is at least thinking he can start doing chores...hopefully the thinking will become doing. I'm hoping your first impression is not what this new teacher continues to be like! I can not imagine arriving late on the first day or two! I also hope she will appreciate input from the "seasoned with these kids" staff! Will you be assisting with the gardening department again? Hope your knee is feeling better and that the brace helps!

I'm already up and running. Bad shift yesterday...but instead of short we were way over. I decided to put it away and deal with it this morning. I never got that nap and had an awful night's rest that night. However, I did manage to plug along and got through yesterday as well. Slept much better last night. Hopefully today will go by quickly since I still feel too tired to work, lol! Off to work to figure out why there was extra money there...maybe it's a tip for me, lol!

Yay! It's Friday and a long weekend coming up! Have a great day!

Anne

At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. ~ Phil 2:10

Aside from a few glitches, that sounds like a wonderful trip, Dianne. emoticon

OMG, I am so excited! DD1 is here and we just went to the store to buy buns for supper to go with the meats DH is grilling BUT that's beside the point. Anyway, I couldn't find my sunglasses and she was in a hurry so I just went without them. We used her car and she often has extras so I checked in her glovebox and I FOUND my keys that have been missing for over a year! emoticon

I'm here!! Tuesday was really busy with DD2 getting her stuff done for the class she is writing for her work. And yesterday was grocery store and visiting Bob--and going through the mail, finishing laundry and trying to come up with a plan for the rest of this week. Now I have gotten caught up on reading and will give you at least a brief rundown of the wonderful vacation!!

We got into Vancouver late--to the hotel after 1 AM (which was 4 AM feeling!). We stayed right down town in Vancouver--took the train from the airport and then walked 5-6 blocks to get there. DD3 was tucked into bed, DD1 waited up for us. We spent time on Sunday doing a run around Stanley Park (not me or SIL--we ended up taking the ferry back to downtown after the bus wouldn't let us off at the park). Then we joined Lindie for the aquarium--it was very fun. (Yes, Cathy--we have been to the one in Baltimore when DD1 went to college there. I do like that one as well.) After the aquarium, we went to Blaze Pizza and had make-your-own personal size pizzas--hubby and I shared one and that was plenty.

Monday AM, 3 went for a run but DD3 and I went to get her eyes scanned for her Nexus card--it will make it easier to get into/out of Canada. We found the place but they had no appointments so she decided she'd try to do it at the airport when we left. By noon, we were down at the waterfront to get on the ship--and we were having lunch in the Cabana buffet by 1:30! They had just about anything you could want--and I had shrimp that I had to peel to eat. MMMM! That and a salad! We got into our staterooms by 2 but luggage didn't show until after 6. The kids figured out what was going on and everyone took off in different directions. We did get together for dinner at 8:15 (later time avoided having most of the little kids around so I adapted!). I thought the food was wonderful and the service great--we had 2 servers dedicated to maybe 3 tables so very attentive.

Tuesday was a sea day--we learned our way around the ship and again ate!! Breakfast in the Cabana buffet, lunch as well but our dinner that night was in the fancy Palo restaurant--had to pay an extra $40 per person. This was a gift from the kids for our anniversary. Very nice meal and we did get fancy formal photos taken. Just being all together was so nice.

Wednesday we went to Dawes Glacier--a big one that comes right down to the fjord. We saw little ice floes all over (the ship did pick one up--the ice was SO CLEAR) and DD1 and I went to a champagne tasting--tried 5 different champagnes and they were all good--but I still can't tell the difference between a really good one and a cheap one. We saw a ventriloquist one night--he was really good--had been on America's Got Talent, I think. Also saw a juggler--he was good and did a bowling ball, tennis ball and an M&M at the same time--then did 3 bowling balls!

Thursday we were in Skagway--did a tour of the Red Onion--a brothel from 1897-99 when the gold rush hit that area. Very interesting tour and talk. They have the original building and upstairs they still have the different wall papers that the girls picked--the madam paid for new wallpaper if you joined her "stable" of girls. One room had 18 layers and the place was only in operation about 2-3 years. Our guide was from Brooklyn--the town has 700 inhabitants in the winter, 3000 in the summer with the seasonal help and over 10,000 if more than one cruise ship is docked.

We did see a Frozen deck show--30 minutes of story and a Frozen show in the big theater that was reminiscent of Broadway--both were good. Friday we were in Juneau--largest capital city of any state. We took a tour to the Mendenham Glacier which is 15 minutes out of town. We got off the bus and could hike around--did a nice 2 mile hike that took us pretty close to the glacier. Maybe you remember reading in 2008 or so about a lone black wolf that was playing with dogs near a glacier in Juneau? Romeo seemed to have no pack and would spend the winter around the glacier but would play with large dogs like they were packmates. Small dogs--well, they didn't always come home. There is a book about Romeo. He has died and we saw his plaque on the hike. Then we went to the Glacier Gardens--abuts the Tongass National Forest (largest in the USA) and the tour took us through part of it. Most of the tour was within the garden property--after a bad storm/mudslide in the 80s, this guy built a stream with pools to handle the water and used up-side-down trees to hold arrangements of growing plants. The story goes that he got really frustrated at something and picked up a tree with a broken top and jammed it into the ground--leaving the roots up. He decided to cut off most of the roots and plant perennials in the root ball so the plants would be up in the air. Very pretty and those flowers were pretty big.

Most of the days in Alaska were cloudy and rainy. We did get Disney ponchos on the Juneau day since it was so wet. We saw bald eagles on that drive to the glacier and whales and seals in the Dawes Glacier fjord. There were at least 4 whales surfacing and blowing. I also saw salmon in Katchichan. Didn't do any tours there--I guess I should have walked a bit farther (but it was really raining) to see more of the salmon and some totem poles.

Saturday night we were wakened--felt like we were on a roller coaster. Our rooms (7004 and 7006 and 7016) were near the bow--and we woke to the UP and down. I got up, went to the bathroom and went back to sleep. DD1 and 3 stayed awake for the whole time. No one had expected this at all so the next day they were very apologetic! There had been a chance of swells again Sunday night but I didn't notice anything.

All the food was great--we often had one of each dessert brought to the table so we could taste them. The portions for the appetizers and meals were "chef-sized"--not really very big. I had enough to eat and could go get more at the buffet place or the pizza place or burger place or salad place--but I only ate my 3 meals a day (and one or two baby ice cream cones from the ice cream place).

We had to put the suitcases out Sunday night if we wanted them to haul them off the ship for us so we just used one to put last minute stuff into. We had breakfast and then could leave about 10 AM. Went to the airport, had a horrid time with all the crowds/lines/etc at United but a fine flight home. We were delayed--DD3 almost missed her connection in Chicago but she made it okay.

Hubby put down money to do another Disney cruise in the future....it was $250 down to get 10% discount and $200 in credits on board. Photos to come.....

Cathy, I hope you click with the new teacher but it doesn't look good for her to be late all the time. For Pete's sake, what's wrong with these "professionals"? I'm sorry your knee is acting up and not surprised that the cold seems to aggravate it. I hope you're able to get some pool time soon as I think that might help. If Howard is going to be home all day, he certainly needs to find more ways to help out with the chores. I know he's a helper at his church, but he probably feels more appreciated there and finds it more rewarding than at home where it's just expected. It's the same with our kids.

Betsy, I guess we should have expected some emotional adjustments with everything changing at your daycare. I hope it doesn't take a full month for everything to fall into a routine, but agree that it's best that you only have one baby starting at a time. Hope Mia gets well quickly and that this isn't a sign of things to come! Too bad DH didn't like the dish. I've had it (chicken, broccoli and water chestnuts) and enjoyed it, but I prefer the spicier dishes. Mom and I went out for Chinese with her sister and brother-in-law on Tuesday night. They ordered a Dinner for Four and it came with a good variety of dishes, so I got to try some things that I probably would not have ordered ala cart.

I had an unexpected visit from Ali and Pablo last night. He's been housesitting for me while I went to Placerville with Mom and had forgotten that I told him I'd be home last night. So Ali brought him over to stay and found me home. They sat and visited with me until 11:00, when I kicked them out. They've been homeschooling for the past couple of years and are going to start at the public high school next week. They are excited and looking forward to it, but I'm kind of sad that they'll lose a lot of the freedom they've become used to. Still, it will be a good experience for them all around and I'm sure they'll benefit from having some time with friends that they don't get to see often now. It's just so far away that they'll be catching a bus at 7 am and not getting back until nearly 5:30 pm. The high school is in the next town to the east and is an hour's drive WITHOUT any construction stops, or mudslides. Their dad works on the coast--an hour to the WEST, so that really spreads the family out during the day.

Everything was fine in the canyon. Mom and I watered my fruit trees well, loaded up 6 boxes of jars, and left. The lawn is dead and so are all the flowers I'd planted, but that can't be helped. Grass can be replanted, but the 2-year old trees would be a bigger loss. They are looking good and the deer haven't gotten to them at all. There is evidence of gopher activity in the garden, but the trees were planted in 3' x 3' cages made of wire cloth, so they'll have a chance to get established well while being protected from those root-eating devils. Mom liked what Steve did with the roof.

My washing machine signal just rang, so it's time to change it over to the dryer and start attacking my list for the day. The dust and cobwebs have taken over and are way out of control, so I need to get the vacuum out and fight them back. It's going to be warm today, so I probably won't do much cooking, but do have the last of the apples that we picked last week still sitting here. They're going to have to wait while I take control of the the clutter and mess, though. If I'm going to have a team here to can tuna on Monday, I have to have room for everyone to work, space for all the clean jars, and for the cooling jars that come out of the canners. That means that all my pickling spices and jars have to be put away for now so we can focus on one thing at a time.

Cathy, I hope your teacher wakes up and listens to you! We do freeze bread if we find great deals but that is rare. DH doesn't mind. I hope the bread is the only thing freezing today and not you! We have yet to find the item we were looking for at the store, we have one store left to check. DH likes Asian food but he did not enjoy the Moo Goo Gai Pan. We think DD2 may like it.
Towels can be folded from a chair so Howard has no excuse. Thank goodness you had something to grab when your knee gave out, how scary!

Dela isn't coming today but DD1 is! She wants some baby cuddle time and she'll get it, much easier day for me having an extra pair of hands.

Blessings!

Betsy, oooh, gross to your dinner choice but I don't like Asian anything---LOL sounds like a horrible day for you. The baby was in a new situation so of course it was difficult for him---but I sure hope his mom hasn't been holding him the whole time because she has created a nightmare if that is the case. Wonder if swaddling him up tight would help when you put him down. Hope he is not a colicky baby. Hopefully you will iron out all the other issues with the kids. Man, that is cool weather but I wouldn't mind---it was very hot and humid here but the cafeteria was freezing and we spent all morning and I didn't bring anything with me---meant to but forgot---I actually had to leave a couple of times to go outside to warm up---and my knee was killing me last night---I really think from that cold. Sounds like you found some great sales---does dh freeze his bread? I really don't like thawed bread myself but know others do that. Bummer that the item that you really went in for was not there----did you find it elsewhere?
Anne, hope you got that nap---you must have really needed it---hope you are not coming down with something.
Terri, yikes to the car issue but glad you figured it out and were able to head home to your own bed.
Lindie, you did quite a bit of walking---hope you enjoyed the chicken.
Dianne, you must have been busy or super tired not to post at least something about your trip or to say hi.
It was a very long boring morning---and freezing as I posted ---met the new teacher---not too sure how it will go---she didn't want to hear about the kids and what we did to deal with them last year---but i persisted in the afternoon when she said she had heard bad things about Amy---I did tell her that Amy was the first teacher that Jeremiah did not hit---her eyes got a bit big when she heard that he has hit teachers---so maybe she will listen to me now. She has 6 kids at home---blended family thing---and has already been late every day---so that sounds like a repeat of Amy---she says she is very structured in her running of the classroom---we will see how that goes---you just never know what will happen with our kids so you do have to be able to roll with the flow of the kids and not sure how she will handle it---but she has experience with our type of challenged kids so maybe it will be alright. I did get on the computer in the afternoon to put in for today off and put in for my trip to Disney in November. Came home and dh had not folded the towels for me---sigh---so I will have to do that---I think we will need a little talk about things either after our trips to the doctors today or tomorrow when we are home all day. Want to wait until I hear what the doctor says---I figure if he can drive himself to church, then he can start doing some chores again here at home. Some things I don't want him to do just yet but he can do the easy stuff. He's got to stop sitting all day in that chair.
Put my knee brace on this morning---the knee was killing me when I got home and it gave way on me in the middle of the night when I got up for the bathroom--thankfully I was next to something to grab hold of---the brace does make it feel better. Lots of driving today so the brace will give it support.
Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

Anne, I hope you got some rest, I am looking forward to resting this weekend.

Terri, hurray to figuring out your car problem!

Lindie, it has been so cold here ( not like winter but for August) that DD2 wore a winter hat to work today for outdoor playtime. It was around 40 degrees when my cherubs arrived. Oh, I wish my week was easy, an explanation will follow...

Lindie and Terri, my first days have been filled with a crying baby who doesn't like to be put down, a teething toddler who is adjusting to not having baby status any longer and a four year old who is fearful of going to 4K so she's having bathroom accidents again. That's not to mention the two year old who always wants what Nellie wants. It hasn't been easy but after a month, we'll get to our balance. Once again, I don't want Mia to be sick but I am grateful for the staggering of the start date for the babies. DH had "meet the teacher" night tonight and thought they were giving the teachers a cookout before the session but it turned out to be school lunch hot dogs. I have had them and they are not good. We usually wait for the weekend to order out but today warranted an exception so I just ordered takeout. I hope DH likes Moo GooGai Pan. I don't even know what it is but he has been wanting something different so he'll get it!

Change of plans. When I got ready to leave Mom's, I went to flip my AC fan on high and got the 4wd switch instead. Now my car feels like its stuck in 4wd and I can't drive like that. I called the dealership that sold it to me and am waiting for a call back from them. They might be able to tell me what to do to fix it, or have their mechanic look at it if I can have it towed to their shop. I may be staying another night if it doesn't get resolved.

Welcome home Dianne! Glad you had a good time.

Hope you got your nap, Anne. Even 30 minutes can really make a difference.

We're waiting to hear how Cathy's and Betsy's first days went.

Good afternoon friends, in the mid 70's here this afternoon, very pleasant, with a nice breeze blowing - went to the credit union and back and did not sweat so much. Also got out this morning and did other shopping out of the area - and filled my compass card so I can travel here and there when necessary.

Anne, I hope you got that nap in, I should have napped too but nope kept going. Have you looked into all the information about taking out funds for the new truck to pay cash and what the penalty might be, or how it might affect your taxes? You might want to research that and share with J - but why does he want a new truck when he's retiring anyway ? Does he plan on going into business for himself ? Wonder if its a mid life crisis thing ? Never know eh ?

Terri, hope you had a good visit with the aunt in the hospital - its not easy to see someone deteriorate no matter what the cause, glad you had a good visit with your mom, how was the other place ?

Betsy, how is Cooper adjusting ? Kinda of an easy week for you then? Hope so !

Cathy how was your first day back to school? Do they assign new students to you or do you still have the ones from last year ? I hope it was a good day for you. Glad DH is doing better and trying to move more and do chorse, must really want to go to church on Sunday then LOL by himself !

Dianne, did you miss your own bed and did you enjoy sleeping in your own bed ? Did the girls get home ok ? Looking foward to any pictures and or blogs you may post ! Welcome home eh !

Chicken for dinner, picked up a rotisary - can relax a bit now only need 500 more steps to meet my step goal !

Just popping on to say "Hi!" Very tired today. I think I may skip lunch and take a nap! If Fr. J get back before I stop to do that, I will ask to go home. Will catch up later!

Cathy, I hope you had a great first day at school and that you aren't too tired after your productive day yesterday. Mia's fever was up to 103.2 last night so she is seeing a doctor this morning. At seven months, DH and I agreed we would have taken her into the walk-in clinic last night but she's not ours so that's their choice. I will not see Mia until next Tuesday due to whatever this illness turns out to be. Cooper's mom did really well leaving him yesterday, I was surprised. It will be an adjustment for me figuring out his patterns/likes/dislikes but we'll get there.

Terri, smoking definitely does destroy lives, not only of the person smoking but of those around them as well, so sad.

We went to the store to buy a few items last night but found so many unbelievable sales that we stocked up and spent a little over $100 but we saved almost $100 as well so it was a worthwhile trip! DH likes a particular bread that often runs around five dollars and it was on sale for .99 but only if you purchased five. Day care goes through a lot of Cheerios and they had a similar deal. There were several other things we use too. The trouble is the item we went for wasn't even there so we had to change our dinner plan and wound up eating around eight PM!

We are expecting a high of 66 today, where is summer? Oh well, at least it is above zero!

Welcome back, Dianne.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Betsy, I can't believe that mom asked that question---would she want someone else to bring their sick child around their healthy child? Duh---but it inconviences them---that's why we have so many issues in the school system---the kids inconvenient their parents so they push them off on others to do what should be their job. Hope the mom did okay with leaving the new baby. At his age, he will be okay but hard on the mom---and she wouldn't have been happy to have a child with a fever around her baby, for sure. I just saw where there were 4 young men that walked 160 miles to support veterans in your state. And with heavy packs on their backs. We need more young people like that. LOL to seeing my comment that way---but he did successfully manage to get in and out and start up the truck and put his foot off and on the brake and gas a few times. He says he is going to start doing his chores again--we will see when I get home today if he did anything.
Terri, good thing you can pick up those canning jars at the canyon since the fish will be waiting for you when you get back home---sounds like you will have many hands helping so that won't feel like such a chore. Hope if goes swiftly and well when you get started on that. Glad you have time to catch up with your mom and that she felt like doing a bit of the driving.
Felt like I got a lot done yesterday even with my car in the shop---took it in and they brought me home. I got towels in the washer and then started tackling a deep clean of the bathroom. It was nice enough to open the window so I could spray the shower with deep cleanser and the curtain. Then it sat while I did something else---then back to the scrubbing. Had just finished that when they called and said the car was done and my ride was returning for me---so I changed back into good clothes---had put on old stuff to get in the shower with. After I picked up the car I headed to Walmart to get bread and milk and a few other supplies. I also emptied the dishwasher, put dirty dishes in, and washed a couple of things, dried towels, washed Dh's clothes and dried and folded them. We went out for our usual Tuesday night dinner, I came home and took a shower in my clean bathroom, and collapsed on the couch for the night. I am up early because I fell asleep before 9. Ready to get started this morning. First day of school when you are a staff member is not as exciting as sending your child off though---LOL

It's nuts to pay the kind of money they want for a brand new vehicle unless you're wealthy enough to pay cash. To think he wants to dip into your nest egg for something that is going to drop in value like a rock--he may as well throw money out the window! I like nice cars, but not that much. Considering how hard you work just to stay afloat, no wonder you balked at the idea, Anne.

Mom and I are on our way to my aunt's house. She's driving, obviously. My aunt was a smoker for many decades and that's most likely how she got cancer. It's the kind that has tumors popping up all over her body and in her brain. She's been taking chemotherapy and radiation treatments for months. It shrinks some tumors, but others still grow. I don't think I'll see Dad on this trip as he's out of town today. We'll go out to the canyon to water my fruit trees and pick up the canning jars I left there, and then will be meeting Mom's sister for dinner. It's been nice to visit with Mom and catch up with her a little.

Jenny messaged me and said she's picking up our albacore on Thursday. She'll keep it frozen until Sunday and bring it to my house in an ice chest on Monday and we'll can it. Jennifer will come and help so she can learn, as will Mary Beth. Lots of work but it will be fun.

Cathy, sorry but I had to laugh at your comment that DH wants to work on getting into his truck with the female PT. It made me think of Terri's lost post explaining why she slept in the back of a vehicle with her DH. emoticon How fun that you got to give Reagann her first taste of your favorite fries! Enjoy your last day of summer vacation even if it does have to be at home.

Terri, how nice that the state will pay Steve well but how sad that you will barely get to see him for quite a stretch. My house is far from perfect but I don't understand how someone could live in conditions that you describe with mice infestation! Perhaps that is why my "neighbor" chooses not to live in her house.

Lindie, your weather is identical to ours right now. It's comfortable for sleeping but couldn't we have a little more warmth for summer?

Anne, new cars are quite the racket, even used ones aren't cheap any more unless you have a mechanic in the family! How nice of you to buy nightwear for Kat and Dexter. how old are they now? Did the high cost purchase Kat made get straightened out?

Dianne, I am sure you are having the time of your life and I'm happy for you.

Baby Cooper, age 3 1/2 months, starts today and Mia was supposed to but she has a fever so she'll be delaying her start. Her mom said she seemed fine except for the fever so wondered what my policy was. I thought of how scary that febrile seizure was and told her she could return 24 hours after the fever had broken, normal policy. I don't want her to be ill but it will be nice to have Cooper without her for his first day. Speaking of Cooper, I need to finish getting his bed ready and do a few more things before his mother arrives with him. It's going to be a tough separation.

Have a great day!

Anne, J needs to find out how much tax you will have to pay on that money if he takes it out of his retirement fund---it is a big chunk---I know because we took money out of ours for closing costs on the house--but it wasn't anywhere near that amount and I would hate to see how much that would be---it would really hurt---let me tell you that. He would be best to take out the loan and if he decided to retire later, then he could take out less to pay it off. But honestly, as long as he was out of work and how much you had to do to stay afloat, how can he think about retiring? Make his start putting aside the truck payment now so that he sees how things are and that he has some extra money to put down to lower the payment some---figure out about 400 to 500 and also how much higher your car insurance will be. I would love to buy a new car for me---I need the new stuff like warning when you are changing lanes that another car is next to you. And a back up camera---LOL Glad you got to enjoy part of the day---nice that you sent the kids something.
Betsy, glad you had an easy start to the week. Hope today isn't too bad. Sounds like you got a lot done.
Terri, sounds like that wasn't that short a visit to the new place with all you got done. Hope it isn't too sad a visit with your aunt and that you enjoy the time with your mom. Hope the stuff comes in for Steve to use this weekend and that there is no rain while Steve is home on weekends---LOL Will he have a long weekend with Labor Day?
Lindie, Yes, we got our fries--she didn't understand why no ketchup---LOL---do you believe they had never taken her to OC and got fries? Honesly, want to wallop my son at times. But she does go to the local firemen carnivals. She wanted to go into the arcade so we had fun in there while Dh sat out on the boardwalk. It was really cool down there---very windy and the ocean was wild---very high waves and very treacherous looking.
My car goes in for service today but they are bringing me home and picking me up so I don't have to stay there for ever and Dh is not home alone yet. Tomorrow he will be but the nurse will come visit him. His ankle looked a lot better yesterday and he did pretty well with the amount of walking he did yesterday. He didn't complain last night about it hurting so maybe he really is on the mend. I did get to the pool last night---I needed it after the time on the boardwalk---boy, it is hard to fight the wind when walking. I didn't even dare get soft ice cream as my hair would have been all in it.
PT comes today and Dh wants to work on getting in his truck with her.

Good evening Friends, well there are only a couple of more days for August and then we will bein September, I hope everyone had a good summer, although it will continue into September, our temps are very cooler then yours in the upper 60's lower 70's - works for me, I can go for nice long walks. Today had a nice breeze blowing.

Cathy, Did you have Thrashers? And what did you wind up doing with your grand daughter ?

Terri, that is good that someone was with you to brainstorm about the cabin, I hope you got some good ideas that you can work with, but removing all the other occupants things and cleaning is first as you have stated. Can you put bounce sheets to keep the mice out ? I take it the place needs a good airing out - are you having any second thoughts about moving there ?

Anne how are the spread sheets coming along ? No, I have never seen that bbq sauce you mentioned. Did V get everything straightened out ? Hope so !

Dianne, cruising along, hope your enjoying the ship and the activities and the food and what not.

Betsy, are you now ready for your regular daycare babes? I hope you had some small "me" times here and there and paced yourself.

Almost time to call it a night. Have a good one tomorrow folks !

Betsy and Terri...you are both busy beavers! Good job on all you have accomplished so far! Good luck with what you have left to do!

I'm going backwards motion, I think, with the list of things to do, lol! Fr. L has a cousin down from Montreal and we went to breakfast before I brought her back to the "residence" at St. Martha's. That set me back about an hour, but I did manage to stop at the Outlets on my way back from the residence. I picked up double set of pj's for Dexter and a double set of nighties for Kat...those are in lieu of a back to school outfit. I stopped at the Post Office on my way back and put them in the mail...no wrapping or cards...just a quick note saying that I saw these and thought of them. If I brought them home, who knows when I'd get them in the mail, lol! Now to do some filing, balancing of the checkbook, and banking. Like Betsy said...Heigh-ho!

We made a "quick" trip out to the ranch yesterday to take their clean laundry out, check the pressure in the water system with the new gauge Steve had bought, check out Adam's work upstairs in the barn (building walls for the kids' bedrooms) and a little more cleaning in the cabin.

Sarah is taking an old armoir that Jim (the previous tenant) isn't taking and I don't want, so we had the guys haul that down to her house. She and I looked around in the living room area and brainstormed a little as to how to furnish it. I'm not there yet and it's still full of a lot of Jim's clothes and things, so I can't get my brain to go there until we move his stuff out.
There's a trundle bed that she might want (if neither Jim nor I want it) so she can have it for sleepovers when Jennifer's kids want to stay with them. We talked about what kind of dining room table and chairs would work best for me and how I might set things up. Then I went back to work in the kitchen.

I emptied two lazy-susan shelves under the counter and used the shopvac to get the rodent droppings out. I'll scrub and bleach them later, but at least they are emptied for now. With all the old food removed from the kitchen, I'm thinking the mice will not be as likely to stay there. I do have traps set, though, and they will be eliminated if they don't vacate the premises!

One of the lazy susans was full of canned fruit and empty canning jars. I have no idea how long the fruit has been there, but the seals on most were still good. If it's iffy, I'll feed it all to DS1's pigs and wash the jars to use for my own canning. I washed some of the dishes that we'd pulled out last week and tossed some old, useless ones that weren't worth saving. I will ask him if he wants to keep any of this stuff and donate anything he doesn't want. I don't think he ever looked in those cupboards at all because there is one bank of drawers next to the stove that is clean (no rodent poop) and it's obvious that those are the ones he used. There aren't many upper cabinets, but I haven't touched them yet. I'll finish clearing and cleaning the lowers and get rid of everything I'm not keeping, and then I'll have room on the counter to empty the uppers. The place is beginning to smell better already, but I think I might get a diffuser and some essential oils to help with that.

Mom and I are going to Placerville to see my aunt who is fighting cancer (and losing the battle). This is my dad's sister and though Mom and Dad have been divorced most of my life, she and Mom have remained friends. Mom doesn't like to drive long distances if she doesn't have to and I'd like to see my aunt again, too--so I said I'd go with her. We'll go out to the canyon and check on things out there while we're in town and that might be the last time I get there this year. I'm just waiting for a phone call right now, so I can order some log preservative for Steve and hopefully have it waiting for him when he gets home on Friday. He left this morning for Happy Camp--a town 2 hrs from here--where he will be working to clean up a slide that is threatening a main highway to a remote area. It's only a small, two-lane highway, but is the only one giving access to that area so it has been declared an emergency and the state is paying well to have it cleaned up. The boss says they'll be working on it "until the snow flies" so I will be on my own except on weekends.

There's my phone call. Time to run. I'll try to keep up on my phone, but may not post much until I get back on Thursday.

Good Morning, the new school year for teachers officially begins today with inservice meetings so Dela will be here in a few minutes. Today I only have Nellie ( 22 months) and Dela ( 4) so it should be pleasant. Tomorrow is when the real fun begins with the full crew.

The Brewers lost yesterday but DH and friends had a great time in Milwaukee and were very comfortable in beautiful weather. I spent about ten hours organizing and preparing day care for the younger crowd. We will wash the floors and vacuum tonight.

Heigh Ho...

Have a great day!

Good morning!
Thanks for sharing concern over the PlayStation incident! She is going to call me today...if she doesn't I will call her and I hope to get filled in more than what the text said.

Cathy, it is funny how different pastors do things. Some want the ornate church, others want funds to go to projects, others to ministry needs...then some come in and take out what the previous one added and put in what they want...often it is a terrible waste of money. That is sad that they do not want you on their Praise Team, especially since you work with young people. You know what they are into and may be able to provide input on how to get more young people to stay after they are no longer brought by parents. We are looking for a decent priced 10,000-12,000 BTU unit, but we need the correct size to fit the hole in the wall, lol! Hope Reagann wants to go to Ocean City...even if it is to just go to Thrashers!

Lindie, I have problems with the days merging into each other, too! Good idea to get the chair so you didn't have to sit on the ground! We use Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce, not sure if it is available in Canada, or Kraft. I have cooked the ribs in the oven that way, too. Slow and steady, and yes, they do tend to fall off the bone nicely when done that way! Hope you enjoyed them! Did you make it to 7 hours sleep? Is that straight through or during the course of the night? I am lucky when I get 3 straight hours before needing to get up to either go to the bathroom or reposition myself.

Terri, that's a good idea to move the previous owner's stuff onto the porch and cover it until he gets back in the area. I hope he will come get it soon. I am sure everyone is going to be very happy once the place is cleaned up and things are where you all want them to be. I think the flannel shirt is a great idea for the older ones...though it would be fine for the younger ones, too. Is it more work because of the buttons and collars? I'm sure the kids will be pleased no matter what you make. Good luck with all of that and helping out supply Jenny's Christmas Boutique!

Betsy, hope you got what you wanted to accomplish done and that you had some "me" time!

Dianne, hope you are having a great time! Looking forward to hearing about the trip and seeing pictures!

We had a lazy day yesterday...Mass and nothing, lol! I did waste a lot of time on the computer yesterday after Mass looking at trucks until J and I had a spat about how he wanted to pay for it. He wants to take it from his retirement fund and I want him to take out a loan. I have a feeling he doesn't want to take out a loan in case he retires in a year...then how would we pay for it! He didn't say that, but I do think he was thinking it. If that were the case, he could take the funds out then and pay it off. It is scary because the vehicles...whether they are new 2018 or 2019 run about $40! He really wants the Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab and he has to have the accessory package that has power seats! And he doesn't want one that is older than a 2017, but since some of the used '17's are close to the price of the new ones he is no longer looking at the used. He doesn't want to look at any that are older because of what they are made from...they will rust out just like my Explorer! After that spat I went and took a nice long bath. We were fine after I came back down. Just a quiet late afternoon/evening.
I have to make a to-do list in order to make sure I do all the things I want to accomplish, lol! I need to get the picnic tickets from the respective parishes, tally the funds, create the new bank and leave them in their respective offices. I also need to find out if anyone has purchased tickets online, call the board of health, and measure the thickness of the picnic tables that are at the park so that I can get tablecloth clips that will fit them. I will take my initial "bank" money back...I hope! I have some house cleaning, banking, and bill paying to do as well. Going to be a busy day!

Have a great Monday!

Anne, you should go ahead and replace that bedroom ac now when they have them on clearance--I am sure a new one will be much more energy efficient and save you money on that bill. I know our bill has been a lot lower this summer with the central unit---last month's bill was only 167 and it was super hot---so I was very happy with that. Bet she can't take it off that game because of the male in the household---but then he shouldn't be able to do it either---LOL---Reagann knows to not do that on my Kindle but occasionally I will put some more of for her---but it is on a Amazon gift card on my account and I get them for doing surveys so not out of pocket.. HOpe this week goes by quickly but in a good way, too.
Terri, sometimes you just have to push. I saw a funny sign at Hobby Lobby---said something about a man doesn't need a reminder every 6 months about something he needs to do---LOL I did think about getting it for Howard. I just don't like going to a big church anymore and there is nothing there for me to do to stay for both services---it worked out well when I was on the praise team there but now they only want young people on that and no spiritual things allowed there now. I don't agree with the changes and don't trust the pastor there either. Howard has blinders on his eyes about things there. Too much money spent on things instead of giving more to missions---although they do have a good feeding ministry that has expanded. Maybe you should ask the kids which they would prefer. Sleep pants, pjs, shirts, or a robe.
Lindie, must have been a good weekend if you don't remember all that you did to keep you so busy---always a good sign if you weren't exhausted afterwards.
I spent more time out on the porch yesterday---it was cool enough to wear jeans all day and need a blanket for my nap---LOL I had put a roast in the crockpot for our dinner so we had a nice meal without too much work on my part. Dh is getting up and moving more---bathroom and getting a few things for himself in the kitchen. I have noticed that he is walking better when up---a good sign.
WE have Reagann again today so I need to go get her. HOping she will want to go to OC today but we will see what she wants to do---I could go for some Thrashers once more before school starts and we can either go into the arcade---Dh can sit and play a game there---or she can go on rides if she wants---we will see once I pick her up.

Good evening Friends, but my where did the weekend go ?? I was so busy with things - since last time I posted a lot has happened, First I got a paycheque I was NEVER expecting and am pretty sure it will result in an overpayment next pay audit - but since I no longer work, I can no longer access HR to work things out so will wait till they send a bill - then will address it. In the mean time I paid off what I owed Revenue Canada and I contacted Canada Pension to make sure this did not affect my pension. I was told it would not. I had trouble getting into my online account to check my pension status and Revenue Canada Status and that took 2 hours and 2 phonecalls to straighten out. I hope I never receive another pay cheque, I never wanted that one !

Still battling flies but these are now tiny ones and only a couple - just enough to be annoying.

Friday Gene and I went shopping - or was that Saturday, I cna't remember now , but I got a lawn chair as I had a picknic to go to today at 5 pm and I did not want to sit on a blanket and then struggle to get up. I walked to the park and then walked home - used my cart - it came in handy as the garbage bag holder for the garbage. Left before the skeeters started to nibble !

Terri, funny you should mention sewing, I was just thinking it was time for you to get into your sewing room and start on a few projects - shirts it is then lol BUT I hope you are getting help getting the cabin in order, and I hope your prince was not too too put out with you lighting a fire under his butt so to speak to get a move on with it.

Anne, I do not make my own bbq sauce, I just get the kraft chicken and ribs and do two bastings, after I take the foil off and let the oven brown/blacken where it wants. I followed an internet recipe that says to bake the ribs slowly at 200 or 250 for a few hours. That seems to be working as the ribs are tender unless you heat them up too long in the microwave ! I need ot use up all the noodles so that might be chopped and put in a salad - we will see. Did you use the zoodle maker ? Boy what a fiasco for V and I hope it got straightened out and monies refunded, how can they do that anyway with an underaged child ? That does not make sense, the child would need the CC and the special code ?

Cathy, did you take DH to his church? Why doesn't the church friends come and get him, or do they even visit ? Boy you have to really be tough with him especially wanting to be "dropped off" you know he would do things he's not suppose to ... remind him wheere the kitchen is if he needs to burn energy instead of sitting. No wonder your not feeling well. I do hope you are feeling better though.

I did not sleep well last night, I hope I sleep better tonight - I am trying to get a good 7 hours but so far only getting 6.5 or 6.75 not a full 7.

Betsy, is it regular daycare today ? Did you get everything organized? I hope you have energy tomorrow.

WELL have a good day tomorrow folks, not even doing dishes tonight, I am too tired!!

Oh dear, Anne! I sure do hope V can fix the parental controls so that NOBODY can access the account for purchases. I'm pretty sure that we don't ever really catch up. If we ever do, we'll just find another project to work on. I know I do. I'm already thinking about my winter sewing and what I should make for the grands this Christmas. The pjs are popular, but I'm thinking that flannel shirts are more practical for the big boys as they use them all the time. Timothy's family is begging me to make him another shirt because he LIVES in the one I made him and they're sick of looking at it! LOL If I do shirts, I'll need to start earlier in order to do them all--then there's Jenny's Christmas Boutique that she's invited me to contribute to. She is thinking about doing one in her new house in town, but it's not a sure thing yet.

Cathy, I'd hate to think that Andy only thought of his dad in terms of his availability for childcare. Is he really that self-focused? If so, that's pretty sad. I hope your tummy is feeling better by now and that you and Howard are over your spat. You're probably right that he doesn't want you being his keeper, but he might need one for a while. Why would he be up and doing things he shouldn't while at church when he doesn't do it at home? I know you have reasons for attending different churches on Sunday, but I confess that I find it odd that you share the same faith traditions but worship separately.

While cleaning the cabin last week, we emptied drawers of towels and linens and I brought them home to wash and sort. Many are rodent-eaten and were discarded, but I have a large basket full of towels and cleaning rags now that we can use. I sent an email to the previous occupant to let him know that I've begun cleaning but haven't heard anything back from him. I suspect that he's not checking emails, so I'll have Adam text him to let him know what I'm doing. If he's concerned about anything he left behind there, he can let me know what he wants done with his things. In the meantime, I'll move forward room by room. I was right that he's been driving truck lately and is simply too busy to come out. I don't want to add to his already overloaded life, so won't expect him to do the cleaning. I just need to know what to do with things that may be sentimental to him. Right now, they're going on the front porch where they'll be covered in case of rain, but outside so that I can move and work inside.

Steve has been working on the front steps this weekend and trying to get as much done as possible before he leaves for the week. I don't usually push him on any of his projects, but admit that I'm being a little pushy on these things. He's leaving all his wood in the carport and I will have to walk/work around it while he's gone--and then there's the issue of what to do with it if it rains. So I did strongly suggest that he apply himself to the task of getting these things buttoned up. Our house looks like a war zone--both inside and out right now and I'm getting tired of it.

Time to get back to rotating the laundry so that I can be done with that job, too. Then I need to take the rings off the pickles I made yesterday and while the dates on the lids. Out of 45 qts of pickles, I only had one jar break and one not seal. That's a pretty good day!

Cathy, I would love for J to leave me and come back and pick me up from Mass...he wants to get out right after Mass is over. I would love to chitty-chat with fellow parishioners that I may only see at Mass. He probably wants to help out, too! I hope the spat doesn't continue! What a royal pain insurance technicalities get! And of course, it is the person who is not well (or family of) that has to deal with it! Glad you got Howard's visiting nurse situation resolved! Sorry you got so soaked while shopping! Was the downpour expected? Funny (not really) how some of our kids only call or ask about us when they need us! Yay to cooler weather! We are experiencing it, too! Good thing! Our bedroom ac doesn't seem to be doing very well...wish it would just die, lol! We have had it for about 38 years! Running both ac's has been very costly this summer! Yay to being able to get some pool time in the other night! Hope you can again this week!

Betsy, thanks for the update on DH's eye situation. 7 Retinal Tears! I wonder if they leave scars when they heal. Continued prayers! I hope Landon continues to appreciate the book and doesn't wreck it because he's mad about the new daycare place. I also hope he doesn't ruin Dane's train game. Good job on that shopping and scanning spree! Hope DH and Little Brother had some "man" fun! Glad you got those numbers down! Hope the trend continues! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished so far with that downstairs cleaning...but it also sounds like there's quite a bit left! Boo! Hope you have some R & R time this weekend!

Terri, do we ever really catch up? LOL! That's a lot of apples and cucumbers! You all are going to be pickled out, lol! Hope Rylan was helpful and learned a lot from you! You have a lot going on and to do! Hope you relax here and there! How are the stairs coming? When is Steve going on that job, or has he already?

Lindie, what a nice surprise that Gene provided for dinner! Sounds like you were preparing a number of "made ahead of time" meals! I really need to discipline myself to do that! I still haven't used my zoodle maker...J brought in a large zucchini, I think I will ask him if he wants to use it and try the zoodler. Were the ribs good? Do you make your own BBQ sauce? Hope your battle against the bugs over! Sounds like you were doing quite well with it!

I do not know why time is going by so quickly! I can't believe that I haven't posted since Wednesday...but I haven't had much computer time! I have been using the Kindle Fire or my cell to read my emails and check the posts here. I really hate responding on them, so I generally wait til I'm on my computer. My fingers can dance across the keyboard with ease...not the watch where you "touch" on the phone or Fire, lol! Those things make me feel like I have fat fingers, which I don't. It has been a fast week!

V called me all upset yesterday afternoon. Her daughter, Kat, bought $140+ of PlayStation apps while the great-grandmother was supposed to be watching the kids. It took her a while to calm and then she tried to "chat" with the company and hit the wrong key and lost the chat and then couldn't get back on. She did get some results from her work computer, and they will supposedly reimburse the account. I wish there was some way I could help her out so that she could work days, but even I wouldn't be able to do that if I was down there...I have to work to pay back my parent loan for her schooling...ughhh! I hope she will either fix the parental controls or remove the machine so the kids can't access it so she won't have this issue in the future.

Time to get ready for Mass. Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Anne

Betsy, hope you got lots done and can relax a bit today. When does the new baby start? Do you reorganize toys once a month? No before school programs start before 7 that I know of around here. Reagann's school doesn't start until 8:30 or 8:45---not sure what time---so that would be a long time for before care and they would have to pay---with us they don't have to pay--LOL
I spent some time out on the front porch yesterday---that was nice--and the door stayed open until I was ready to go to bed. It is open again this morning, too. We both wore long pants yesterday too. The lawn got mowed but I didn't pull weeds---should have but didn't want to do the bending over to upset the tummy area. I did finish all the shredding yesterday and went thru a stack of magazines on my coffee table and put them in the recycle bin.
Dh and I had a spat yesterday---he asked about church on Sunday---I told him I was taking him about 8:30 for one service---he wanted me to leave him there and come back---no way---too far---plus he wants to see people in 2nd service, too. I told him we would stay for a while---figured I wouldnt' make my service anyhow---and he got mad at me---why I do not understand. He wants me to leave so he can do stuff that he should not be doing yet---I know that and that's why I won't just leave him plus it really is too far to go back and forth. WE will see if he has changed him mind in a bit.

Cathy, I hope you are feeling better today. It's nice that you could open the door again for some fresh air. Our before school programs start very early and they are right in the school so there is no problem with getting the children where they need to be as they are already there. If the students have been off for the summer, they are tired at first but once bedtimes are adjusted, they adjust as well.

I am super excited because I finally got down into the decade of numbers where I want to be again, now I have to get down to the bottom and STAY there! yesterday was a cheat day so I am shocked but thrilled.

The hallway between the stairs and the large day care room was getting rather full as I had allowed the older children to play out there while the little ones were in the large day care room with me. Last night I got everything moved out of that area and as I moved it, I separated things into dollhouse toys, Lego blocks, kitchen toys, etc. that had gotten all mixed up. I also got things out to set up a bottle warming and monitor station again. This morning we will head to the farmers market briefly and today's task will be to tackle two large shelving units that include the microwave and the real dishes, cubby bins, music area, puzzles, books and diapers/wipes/extra clothes. The bathroom is also on the checklist for today. Cleaning and organizing will take a long time. We will go to the farmers market briefly and then I will get to work, setting my timer for motivation to keep going.

Have a great day!

Betsy, no before school program starts early enough---they leave about 6:15 for work---before school programs might start at 7--but then you have to get them there, too. Can you imagine how tired she would be if she had to get up that early? Hope Landon doesn't tear up that book and maybe you should think about hiring Aiden next summer as a helper---I bet she would love the idea of doing it occasionally and make her feel so grown up. Glad you had her help this past week. Hope your dh feels up to doing something alone with the boy. You need a break from kids. Hope you get stuff done but have some time to just relax, too.
Terri, guessing you have been super busy either canning or cleaning. How did the applesauce turn out? Do you just can the pears or do you make a pear butter with some of them?
I got some things accomplished yesterday---got my bills paid and the papers put in the filing box instead of just crammed in a drawer since I had the file box out and emptied. Dh's nurse came and changed his bandage. Once we ate lunch I headed to the post office, then to CVS, then to Food Lion---came out to rain---got so wet I felt like I had just washed my hair again--and I just washed it this morning. I don't know if I got chilled from that or what I ate at lunch didn't settle right, but I ended up not feeling well at all. I fixed Dh some dinner and then I just collapsed on the couch and stayed there for the rest of the evening. Even put on a long sleeve top and long sleep pants and curled up with my blanket.
Nice weather for our weekend--I have turned off the ac and opened up the front door--haven't been able to do that in 2 months+. Nothing planned for today---have no place I have to go to which will be a nice change.

My summer roster has ended! Cathy, I have a very, very sturdy book that even Landon didn't destroy, called I Love You Through and Through. He loves the book and although he has been difficult, I love him and wanted him to have it. Big brother Dane loves trains so I found a board book for him about trains and hopefully, it will stay on a high shelf in his room when he's not reading it. Although Aiden is a very popular name for a boy, the one who has been helping me is a beautiful red haired girl! She has been amazing, I spoiled her with breakfast ( blueberry bagel from Panera) and lunch( Hawaiian pizza,) paid her and gave her the gift card to Starbucks as she loves the vanilla bean frappuccino.

That is terrible that Andy only asked how his father is because he needed something! I am so sorry that is the case. It would make me not want to help him at all but of course I understand you want to see Reagann. Is there no before and after care offered at her school? Most of our elementary schools have that service.

DH agreed to make dinner and while he is doing that, I need to get downstairs and start the dreaded cleaning process. I think I am going to have to have DH do something solo with our Little Brother this weekend. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon ( Wishful thinking on the fairy, I need one! )

Lindie, nice that Gene brought home a treat for dinner. Sounds like you are cooking for the week so as not to have to turn the oven on again. The ribs sound good. Reagann and I went to Petsmart to get cat food for Raucous and we spent time over with the kittens that were out on display---so cute and so tempting to take them home---LOL---she made friends with someone's puppy, and we looked at the birds and the lizards. Then we went over to Hobby Lobby to look around in there before going to Chick-fil-a. We brought lunch home to Howard. Then we chilled a bit before heading down to the Wound doctor. We took the tablet so she would have something to do while there---she was very good for us. Then her dad was waiting for her when we got back.
Betsy, sweet of you to give him books but seems like he doesn't take care of stuff so why buy him that? Nice of you to treat Aiden for helping you out. Sounds like he has been a big help to you. Now I want some doughnuts for breakfast, too. Sounds like a busy weekend ahead for you
Andy finally asked how his dad was doing---but only because school starts soon and they are worried about what to do with Reagann on the days Shari or both have to go to work before she gets on the bus. But he is doing better with his walking. He is going to ask the PT person to work with him on getting up into his truck again. Right now it looks like I have to take the 2nd day of school off to take him to the foot doctor---even if I take just a partial day off, I will have to rush home to take him to another wound doctor appointment. that day, too.
So glad to have nothing I have to do but we do need to go to CVS to get prescriptions and I might as well stop in at Food Lion to get some milk and bread---no trip to Walmart as the college kids just moved back in yesterday so that place will be a bit crazy this weekend.
Have a good Friday!.

Once again, there are not enough hours in the day. Day care was crazy busy all day and as soon as that ended, baby Cooper and his parents came over with a lot of supplies for him to start on Tuesday. Dinner followed ( which I made with Dela during naptime) and then I ran out to do errands. $10 Starbucks card for Aiden for helping so much for the past two weeks, dollar store for sympathy cards( Landon's mom had a good friend die of ovarian cancer at age 35 and a man from DH's ushering crew also went to eternity,) TJ Maxx was another stop for board books ( Landon has destroyed most of mine and I wanted to get some as gifts for his last day,) a trip to Wal-Mart for paper products and more...and lastly, a trip to the gas station for the free ATM to get Aiden's pay and since I was there, why not fill the tank? Everything has been scanned, DH has gone to bed after being worried about me being out "so late" ( 9:20?)...and the alarm has been set for 6. I promised my charges donuts for the last day of summer celebration so of course I have to go out and buy them before they get here. ( I want fresh and our grocery store has great Friday donut sales.) I really will catch up someday but it may not be for a week! This weekend I have a ton to do to switch day care over from older ones to younger ones and then the school year is here, yikes!

I would post now but I have to get away from this screen or I will never get to sleep. Hope everything is going well for our team.

Good afternoon Friends, its a sunny day today after all that rain yesterday ! Gene came home last night with A&W and he had text'd me to ask me what I wanted, so he picked up two momma burgers, one for me and one for him and an order of onion rings and fries to share which was nice .. course I did have the zucchini spaghetti in meat sauce to eat still - I picked up more zucchini to zoodle later to add to it as there was more sauce then zoodle lol plus I got some fresh parmesan to put on it and can use that on chicken later in the week. Have ribs in the oven on a slow bake - will based them shortly. Went out and got a pedicure this morning and chose pink for the toes - looks nice - there were two different toes with ingrown that she had to dig out and it was painful, think next time they are that bad I will go pay a pediotrist to do them ....

Cathy enjoy your day with your granddaughter today, what did you wind up doing ? I bet that pool felt real good last night too !

Terri, how much did Rylan help with the canning, etc? I hope that is going well, its good that you can do that as the price of veggies are getting out of hand - I would love to garden but have no knowledge at this time. One day I will learn not today though lol I do not envy you having to clean up that cabin, no telling what you will find, and what has to be tended to - I hope your sils' will help with that as you have done a lot for them too - and they seem to work well together as a team, so that might make the cleaning less daunting, although I know Sarah has her own area to tend to as well. How is DH doing with the stairs, and how is the trailer, men dont' seem to care what they sleep in as long as they can sleep ! And I think the trailer is a smart idea.

Anne, have not won the war yet, but am still battling now although they are fewer and smaller, almost just a little bigger then fruit flies so hard for me to see on the wall - but I will get them ! Or the sticky paper will - if only they would go land on it LOL Have you given Tom a wish list kind of thing as to what would be acceptable for you to up and move ? House wise, unless the grands are coming to stay a lot - like Terri's seem to do, you most likely do not need a large house / lot - course DH would need somewhere for his tools, and that would make sense, since that is his work tools too. I hope everything works out well for you, but I kinda think you want to stay where you are ....

Betsy what wonderful news on DH's eyes and the surgery not needed other then cateract - he might find his eye sight better once he has it, I have cateracts too but the flax seed I was eating ( been slack on that this year ) was keeping it at bay. Do either DH or your daughter take 369 vitamins ( oils ) ? I can't take them that is why flax which is an omega is better for me. I know today was Landon's last day and I do hope you get to relax some this weekend, and maybe not have to go to a lot of places so the daycare can be ready for Monday.

Dianne, glad you posted and hope you are taking lots of pictures that you can blog about when you get back. Glad you are having a great time !

Off to go bast some ribs - have a wonderful Friday !!

Anne glad your son is looking out for you and J on the job front. Honestly, J should set up his own business and do small jobs for people---it is impossible to find someone to do them anymore and he would be in great demand. But not sure how you would like having super hot weather a lot more than you have up there. I told Joy that what we should do is that I live with her in the summer and that she come live with me in the winter so that we can both enjoy nicer weather during our times together---LOL
Betsy, Michael''s dogs have free range of the house and have an enclosed area to go outside in with their own doggy door. I don't think they have an enemy in the world in their eyes---LOL So no issues with crates or growling. I am just not a dog person----small doses are fine and much better when someone else was with me so that I didn't have to constantly give them attention. Glad your Dh doesn't need the surgery but sure hope no major issues this school year. Will he need cataract surgery on both eyes or just the one? A good time for one is during Christmas break. Glad your Landon time is about over. I bet you will find it a lot less stressful with him gone.
Terri, he just wants to be there when it is finished so he can eat all he wants right away---LOL---but hopefully he will be of some help. Or is Rylan a girl? Maybe just a break from being at the new site---Mom might be giving them a lot of chores that a break is needed.. Did you even go in the cabin to see what you will need to do?
The visiting nurse called to say Dh had been taken off her list---she was told it was an insurance issue---so I got on the phone to the Carefirst nurse who put me on the phone to the Carefirst insurance in a 3 way call---insurance lady said we had had our coverage extended until Oct. 11 just the day before so that should not have happened--so she called the home health agency and we were on a 4 way call--it was all straightened out and the visiting nurse was called and she was able to come change his bandage---there has been some oozing this time---not sure if that is good or bad----but thinking it might be from one of the exercises he has been directed to do---so when PT came, we talked about that and she said not to do it until we talked to the wound doctor today to see what she has to say about that.
We have Reagann today---that's why I am up early---I have to go pick her up since Dh can't do that.. I am looking forward to seeing her but I have nothing on my calendar for Friday and Saturday and I am so glad---seems like since I have been home there has been too much to do right before I go back to school.
Got to the pool last night---the water felt so good and released some tension I had been feeling

Just barely caught up with you all, but it's late and I need to get to bed. We spent the afternoon at the ranch and had intended to clean more of the kitchen, but got sidetracked picking pears and apples. There weren't as many pears ready as I'd thought, but Rylan and I picked most of an apple tree. I told him I'd make applesauce and he wants to help, so he came home with us tonight. We have about 20 gallons of apples and about the same of cucumbers. I'm not sure how much help he'll be, but how could I refuse?

This has been a long week but I have GREAT news, the retina specialist said DH's eye is healing well on its own and he does NOT need the surgery! He also said a hemorrhage may or may not happen again, could be 3 weeks, 6 months, five years or never! He would like him to have cataract surgery sometime in the next year or so but that can be done locally and by our regular eye doctor. We are so relieved! He will see the retina doctor again mid-September and DD2 will see her glaucoma doctor in early October.

Anne, both eyes have had surgery but only one is causing trouble now. I have lost track but I believe one eye has had seven retinal tears and one has only had two. Thank you for your prayers.

In all honesty, I haven't read the posts and have to get to the dishes before DH gets home but I am picking and choosing pieces from Anne's post. I have substituted applesauce for oil in many cooking ventures with great success. I am envious of Dianne's vacation as well. I could really use some time off between Landon and Dane's departure on Friday and the babies starting next week. I will have to remember that next summer, perhaps two weeks in July and one near the end of August? Cathy, I had to help DD2 with dogsitting and the dog growled at me like crazy as I let her out of her kennel but then she was fine, hope you didn't experience that as well. Terri, you are making me want zucchini bread but I am sure that wouldn't help the 5 % challenge at all! If I had zucchini, I would make chocolate chip zucchini cake, it is delicious and good for you as well!

DH is at the end of summer park "picnic" which is being held at a bar, catered and revolving around league volleyball. We were invited but declined. DD2 and I miss the old way of a good old fashioned pot luck style picnic at the park. I better get to those dishes or I won't have any clean ones for the kiddos tomorrow.

Cathy, that was nice that your co-worker assisted you in caring for the dogs. I bet Howard feels cooped up, but hope he is following doctor's orders. Remind him that you want to get to your service, too!

Lindie, good luck winning the war against those flies! Ughh!! I hate bug wars! I'll have to check with Rich about Sunday shopping there. Wish we all no longer had Sunday shopping! It would help slow us down!

Terri, wow! that's a lot of zucchini bread. Could you taste the difference using the applesauce and bananas in place of the oil? Hope everyone enjoyed it! Hope you can "evict" that previous owner without any issues! You are treading on tough ground, especially with Progressives and Liberals, about people feeling they have the right to things they didn't work for! I think this mentality is messing up our society big time!

Betsy, how is the week going...it's hump day! I hope dh is really paying attention to his eye situation! Does it involve both eyes or just one? Prayers for healing!

Dianne, sure hope you are having a great time! I am jealous!

I have been busy! What else is new! I talked with Tom Monday night, but never had an opportunity to ask him about the credit card situation. I'll have to try and remember to ask the next time I speak with him. Instead we talked about how he has a job for me and Dad lined up and a house, too! He said the house has 4000 sq ft. I told him no way! Not interested in a house that is almost 3 times more sq ft than what I already have! Besides it is in a 55+ community, which doesn't bother me, but I do not want an HOA dictating to me what I can and can not do to my own home AND I do not want to pay an HOA fee! His job description sounded interesting. I told him I need to take care of a few more tasks before I will consider putting the house on the market...but after they are done I am game!

I need to get moving...Mass in 15 minutes, so I need to pack up and get to the church!

Have a great day!

Terri, that was a lot of zucchini bread! Hope those who got it sent home enjoyed it. Smart to put the rest in the freezer so to avoid temptation, but did you leave some out for Steve? Or did he have it with the boys? My work buddy went with me again last night and gave them lots of attention---I would have taken them out to run on the big lawn but it had rained a lot yesterday afternoon so it was too wet and I wasn't going to clean them up or the house if I did that---LOL I hope it isn't horrible in that cabin when you got to clean it---but it might take a while to get it really clean so not sure if you would want to do your canning or dehydrating there.
Lindie, just wondering if you pored some cider vinegar or some drain cleaner down the pipes to help destroy those flies if that is where they are coming from. Not sure if it would help but worth the try. We did cool off a bit yesterday when i strong rain storm came thru---even lost power for a couple of minutes---it turned so dark that our automatic lights came on outside in the back.
We did get out for dinner---Dh said it was nice to get out for something besides a doctor's appointment. I told him I would take him to his church on Sunday for one service but he would not be allowed to work any at all while there and would have to sit the entire time. Just hope I can get him away in time for me to go to my service.
One more time to feed the dogs this morning---Michael is due back today. They will be happy to see them.
Hope you all catch the story about the girl that had the angel pictures taken for her senior portraits---her dad died in Afganistan and the photographer took a copy of his picture and made him appear in her pictures beside her---They were wonderful pictures.

Good morning Friends, its almost lunch here but thought I would check in before I get too busy on my flyswat mission !!! I got to the dollar store and got two fly swatters and some more sticky paper from RAID - these tiny flies are in for it -and it ain't gonna be pretty for me or the flies - got 3 already just in the bathroom - pretty sure they are coming from the drains -couild be something the plumbers let loose when they were doing work on the pipes - never had them like this before !

Terri, I will take you up on that as I would love to learn canning etc as long as it does not give me a head ache LOL I find somethings I try to learn give me a head ache, not sure why, never explored it - most likely why I did not like camping, gardening, or girlguides lol however, just as our pallet changes for the tast of food, I can learn perhaps. I am also making a spagettie meat sauce and putting all that zucchini I zoodled into it, I checked them they are still firm and even if they melt into the sauce at least I know more veggies in it. That's a lot of zucchini bread, did you know that here at the specialty coffee shops, something like zucchini loaf slice would go for 2 or 3 dollars a slice ? Just think of that LOL Next time your baking for raising funds, use those loaves and charge a 1.00 a slice or something like that. Yes the tap is through the chip on the various cards - if your cards do not have chip, no problem. ALL the information for your banking is in that chip - I know Gene has been hit 2 x now on his credit card using it while shopping as someone in the line up or near him had a chip reader and the purchases were made in Philadelphia ! There are several "rings" of theives who do this, its all about materialism and selfishness. You might see the display on the debit machines for tap - it just means you can touch your card to that machine and they don't ask for a pin or code ...

Cathy, you poor cat person, did you have a better interaction with the dogs today ? How is DH doing, good to hear he is doing his PT even if it hurts - sometimes it will hurt a little. Did you get home before it got too too hot for you ? You can still keep that heat, I have no desire to have it. Dianne should have had good weather for sailing out of Vancouver yesterday, and hopefully saw a good sunset too - hope their cruise is going well too.

Betsy, I hope your day is going well and that DH is doing good too - I am just wondering if you can call the nurse reception for that appointment to add any information that you might think DH may not think to give them. How often do we go to a doctors appt and they ask how we are and we say, fine, when actually we are not ! Plus you may ask questions that DH might not think to ask too ... hope it all works out for all including insurance !

Anne, I hope your day is going good too and you have somewhere to be cool in that heat index, I certainly do not miss the heat and humidity of Southern Ontario - I hope you do get to go to PEI Prince Edward Island, its beautiful there, I've never been but have seen some pics, and it is also a more relaxed place, I think they still do not have shopping on Sundays but I could be wrong on that one !

OK off to swat !!!!!

I'm glad you checked in, Betsy. I know you must be crazy busy, but I'm glad to hear that dh won't take chances with his eyes. It would be best to find out about the insurance situation soon--before it's too late.

I never left home yesterday, but put a few things away in the kitchen, gave the floor a quick once-over and baked a ton of zucchini bread. I found a recipe that has applesauce in it to reduce the amount of oil used. I made a quadruple batch of that and used all my mini loaf pans. Then I made another big batch and used some overripe bananas instead of the applesauce, and made 3 large loaves and some more minis. The second batch was too wet and took a long time to bake through, so I added more flour to the third big batch. Yes--I made that much zucchini bread!

Ben had spent the night with the cousins (Pablo and Christian) near us and was helping to split the last of the firewood in our driveway when his dad (Adam) came to pick him up. I sent them home with 2 big loaves and 4 minis, and then did the same with the other boys, so got rid of about half of my baking. The rest was put into freezer bags and removed from my sight and smell! The boys mowed through a couple of mini loaves that I had cut for them to taste, but I think I ate a mini loaf all by myself--so it's best that they are now in the freezer! I was also able to send the laundry home with Adam and a box of jam and pickles from last year. Slowly but surely, I'm getting the older stuff off my shelves.

Today, we're going out to the ranch and will check the pears, pick what we can, and maybe start doing some cleaning in the cabin. I'm not looking forward to doing that, but it's not going to do itself and it doesn't appear that anyone else is going to do it. I need to send a message to the owner who occupied it and let him know that I'm ready to move him out so I can use it. We have lots of fruit getting ripe out there and it might be easier to just do some of the canning there rather than haul boxes of fruit back to the log house.

Cathy, it's good of you to watch Michael's dogs while he's away. I know you aren't a dog person. I'm glad Howard is doing his PT faithfully. I don't understand why the doctor wouldn't remove that cyst and I'd have given him an earful after all of that. You called to make SURE it could be done and received assurances that it would be. I don't know whether to think it was RUDE of them or merely unprofessional to treat you like you have nothing better to do than drive around all day in the heat with a man in a wheelchair! Hopefully the cyst isn't too painful for him. It does seem as though it would've been best to get it taken care of while he's already on antibiotics for the wound, but with his diabetes complicating things, maybe not.

Lindie, you did get a lot done yesterday! Good for you--and I doubt that you lollygag around very much. If you were here, you could help me with all this canning and we'd have fun chatting and laughing--don't you think? Things like that are usually more fun when you have someone to chatter with. Did I mention that the fishing boats are bringing in albacore now? It looks like we might be canning tuna again soon. Jenny is out and Jennifer says she wants to try canning some (she's learning), so that is going to have to be squeezed into the schedule somewhere. DS1 still has some from our last batch and won't be joining this time, and Sarah doesn't like fish at all, so DS2's family won't take part. I'd send you home with a box of relish whatever else you might like from my pantry.

Anne, did Tom get his credit card mess straightened out? Did he get reimbursed or will he lose that money? I don't understand what the TAP thing is that Lindie was talking about. Is it the chip on the cards? I only have one credit card, but have 3 debit cards that I seldom use anymore. I don't understand the mindset of thieves. Is it the challenge of the hunt or do they simply feel that they are entitled to take whatever they can get away with? Why do people think they have a right to things they haven't worked for--things that OTHER people have worked for?

Cathy, good idea to get the salad and veggie mixes for cool dinners while you're having your heat wave. We do that here, too. We'll often just have a sandwich or salad for dinner when it's hot because we don't grill like you do. Last night I cooked up some pasta and opened a jar of the spaghetti sauce with meat that I canned last summer. It was just right and we'll probably have it again for lunch today.

Bon voyage, Dianne and family! Have a wonderful time!

Anne, were you able to get both things while out shopping? Sure hope so. Do you think J will eat stuff out of the instapot but not the crockpot? Tell us how you like it. My sister got one and she loved it ---at least at first---have no idea if she kept using it but imagine that she did--I sure hope she took it with her to Oregon.
Terri, hope you got the pears and then headed home to work on all your other projects. Did you make the zucchini bread and freeze it? Hope the guys enjoy using the camper instead of a hotel room---but I would prefer the hotel with an indoor toilet and shower---LOL
Dianne, sounds like you enjoyed the day---I would have liked the aquarium myself---I wish I could go more often to the one in Baltimore. Have you ever been to that one? I haven't been in years but enjoyed it the couple of times I have gone. But I just don't want to fight Baltimore traffic and parking. Enjoy that cruise!
Lindie, you got a lot done. I hope I can get a bit more done here at home today.
Betsy, remind Dh of the insurance issue so he doesn't try to hem and haw his way out of the surgery---LOL Honestly, insurance can be such a pain. I am thankful that we have better insurance than you and they are covering dh's home care right now.
Boy, my morning was so busy---fed the dogs, took my friend to the doctor and to a couple of errands---getting someone in and out who needs a wheelchair is a task. Couldn't figure out how to totally close the wheelchair but it has these nice handles that fold down and my back of my car easy held it with the down---and it was light enough to not be too difficult to put in and out. Then stopped my car dealer to set up appointment for them to check out the check engine light---that is today---then home to fix lunch for us. Pt came about 1:30---and he is sore but at least trying as he did some later even though he was already sore. Got hold of my work buddy and we went to feed the dogs and spend time with them. Then he went with me to Acme to get some specials there---also got some cut up watermelon for dh, local peaches, and these tiny candy grapes that I am looking forward to trying. I got coleslaw mix, baby carrots, and broccoli for a dollar a bag for meals since ti is going to be so hot this week. I did get the peaches cut up last night. The front of my legs hurt last night from getting that wheelchair up some ramp areas and in and out of the car.
Need to eat something and get to those dogs again this morning. I hate this rushing around in the morning. But I guess I better get used to it again---LOL

I can't keep up! I am glad the meeting of Lindie and Dianne went well and was happy to see the posted picture.

As far as Landon goes, as soon as he hurt a child, parents were given notice and I hired another person to be sure everyone stayed safe. As far as DH goes, he will listen to the orders of the doctor. He knows he needs the surgery at some point but reports he is feeling better so he may put it off but only with the blessing of the retina specialist. His appointment is tomorrow and he will not go to school like he did today after his pre surgery physical. I tried to get him to change it to after the appointment tomorrow but he wouldn't do it. My fear is if he doesn't have the surgery within 30 days, our insurance won't pay for it.

Timers on the pork chops and corn on the cob are about to go off so I must scoot. I will TRY to be back later.

Good morning Friends, its been a busy morning already - 2 loads of laundry done - I started at 6 am and finished, put it all away, and then attacked the dishes in the kitchen, and that is all done now too !

Dianne, I am so glad you and your family enjoyed the Aquarium, and I did pass on your thanks to my sister as she had texted me and asked how it went, and I also asked her about the lighter muzzle area on the Otters and they do lighten as they age out - she said it was likely Tanu or Katmai and I thought you would like to know - I just also remember there are live cams on the aquarium internet site and they can be watched there too ! Enjoy the cruise and will look forward to hearing about your adventure !

Cathy, it is much cooler here and rain by wednesday which we need so I won't complain about that - I will find inside things to do that have been waiting for a rainy day LOL - I am not crazy about the noise at the casinos but the food is ok sometimes !

Anne yes these places are costly, I doubt I would go if my sister did not work there, and now they have the online cams you can watch too - glad you had a nice dinner out and a good time, we need that from time to time. Don't work too hard today eh !!

Terri, I love relish - on hot dogs and burgers - that helps make the taste - and onion and mustard as well ! You are so busy, I bet you barely have time to breath and I just lollygag around all day long but I have no properties to tend to, or gardens, or canning - never learnt that art - was never interested eihter .. did you figure out how to do the zucchini? Mine has been in the fridge, I am thinking tomorrow spagetti sause and hamberger in that too - to night is fahitas ... if I get it right LOL Hope Steve can get the step mojo back and getter done so that he can truely move on - and good the boys are there to help too ! Have a good day and try to pace yourself

Betsy, hope today is going well for you and for DH !

Morning! Yes, we had a great time with Lindie yesterday!! My family was thrilled to get to see the aquarium--it would have been pricey so we likely would not have done that without Lindie's generosity. My Dads got some cool photos and Lindie and I talked a mile a minute!! After we parted ways, we got personal size pizza at a place called Blaze Pizza. Then to sleep by 9:00!

Today DD3 and I walked to a Nexus office. She has a card to speed her crossing into Canada but needs to get her Iris scanned. Would have been an hour to wait so she'll try at the airport next week. We leave at 11 for the cruise!

Glad people are doing ok. Sorry it is so hot, Cathy. Ann, glad you didn't lose any more--I don't like gambling either. Betsy, I do worry about your DH. Landon will do fine or not--you have done all you possibly could. Terri, the doll relish sounds interesting. Just the cukes and spices? Lindie, seeing you and Vancouver and buses makes me understand your posts much better! Thanks again!!!

Waiting to get my shower....we did about 3 miles this am. More to come!!

Is it Monday already?

I'm all caught up with the garden stuff for the moment. Steve didn't bring home any pears from the ranch last evening, so I might have to go out and get them myself. I'll send some kids up the trees. This fall, we'll have to prune most of those ancient trees back to make them shorter because we don't have a ladder to get a lot of the fruit. I put my dehydrated fruit into gallon-sized freezer bags and freeze them so they don't get bugs, Anne. If I had one of those vacuum seal things, I could keep them on the shelf--so maybe I need to put that on my Christmas list? I liked the one they had at Costco a few years ago because it would vacuum seal canning jars and that would be great for things like that. I have one more bag of dried pears in the freezer, so guess I'd better bring it out and let the kids have it. I didn't do any pears last year because we were in the canyon all season, so these are from 2017.

It's cool this morning, so I'm thinking about popping some cookies into the oven to bake. I can freeze them and then Steve will have them for his lunches when he goes back to work (probably next week). I haven't frozen the shredded zucchini yet, so could make some mini loaves of zucchini bread too. I swept my kitchen floor, but didn't mop it yet. It needs a good scrubbing!

It would've been best if Steve had remembered how many logs he'd need and gotten them all at once. The grandboys (Pablo and Ben) have been helping him peel the bark off of them, so that hasn't been difficult. It's a job the boys enjoy doing--sort of a novelty to them. I am REALLY hoping to see these steps done before he goes back to work because all progress will stop then. If he'd have had ALL his logs, he could've been working on the basement wall while the cement cured on the other project. He's not great at multi-tasking in a way that efficiently works on more than one project. He's more like a butterfly that wanders from one thing to another. He always ends up getting a lot done with all his puttering, but doesn't like being pushed to work on something he's not currently interested in. I totally get that!

I just got a message from Sarah that they won't be going to the 4-H council meeting tonight, so I won't be babysitting after all. That opens up more options for me but now what should I do? LOL!

SIL bought a used 5th wheel trailer to "live" in while on this big job that's coming up. Steve and he will stay in it at a campground because the job is 2+ hours from here and they won't be commuting. It will be quiet around here and I don't think Steve is going to like being away from home, but having this trailer will be a lot better than renting a motel room. The two of them get along very well and SIL loves to cook. He said he'd cook if Pop will buy the groceries, so that's probably how it will go. The trailer is parked here, near the shop and the two of them are going through it to make sure everything works before they take it to the campground. There will be hookups for them, but they're testing everything here to be sure it works with propane and electricity.

Gs Pablo has been splitting our pile of firewood with his dad's hydraulic wood splitter and that's been a huge blessing. We hadn't planned on being here to burn much firewood this winter, but now it looks as though we may be. I'm glad we brought home all that wood from Adam's rental when they were moving!

Time to get some breakfast made and get my day started. I'm still not sure which direction I'll go. I guess I'd better make a list...

Hi all!
Cathy, I agree...hurry up and throw your money away! J gets ticked at me for this attitude about casinos, but I think in all the years he has gone to casinos I don't think he has ever had a big enough hit to get a tax form. Yes, at least we got out of the house, lol!

Betsy, good luck with Landon today! I wonder if his parents told him that he would be going to a new place. I sure hope the new place can handle him. Continued prayers for DH's eye!

Lindie, thanks for the picture and the update! I love aquariums, but they are costly! Thanks for updating me about those flies...bleeechhh! Good luck getting them under control!

Terri, yay for a new relish! I hope everyone enjoys it! How do you package up the fruit after you dehydrate it? Sorry Steve forgot about the log needed, though it may be easier for him to do them separately...for the bringing back home. It is not good for the leader of the committee to leave everyone hanging! I think I would bring that up at the meeting!

We met my cousins for dinner last night. It was a nice spending time together, but the ac wasn't working so it got pretty hot in the corner we were sitting at. The service was slow, too. One way that was a good thing since we were able to chew the fat without feeling like we were being pushed out, but we really would have liked the bill sooner because we all were getting uncomfortable with the heat. It only cost us $40/couple! Pretty good deal...J had Chioppino and I had Steak Tips & Sausage. My cousins had Chicken Parmigiana. No room for dessert either!

It is very humid, so our heat index is nasty! I hope the ac's in the church are working well! Time to get ready! I need to shop after Mass. I want to find a cord for some Crucifixes and I need to pick up an Insta-pot at Kohls. Boths stores are in the same mall! Yay! I'm usually not that lucky.

Have a good Monday!

Anne

Anne, glad you found something to do and good that you told J no to more money at the casino. I just don't understand the draw that those places have. I'd rather not waste my money there. But at least you got out of the house.
Betsy, if he is still having these issues, think of how much worse it would be if it was during the school day when he couldn't rest them---he needs that surgery. And it does sound like you might have lost some of the others if Landon was allowed to stay. No matter how much I liked the caregiver, if there was a problem child attacking my child I would remove them so I am surprised the others have stayed this long with him. Glad you enjoyed your pizza and gelato. HOpe you got some of the housework done so you won't feel overwhelmed this week.
Lindie, thanks for the picture and so glad you got to meet up with Dianne, Her hair is a lot shorter than when we met up with her---LOL Sounds like a fun day and I would love to have your temps down here. Today is going to be a scorcher and I have to be out in it.
Terri, hope everyone likes the new relish. I don't care for relish because it is sweet myself so I understand why the others don't care that much for it either. Bummer that Steve forgot he needed another log for the basement wall. Hope he made more progress on it yesterday and that he gets that finished by the time the steps are ready for more work.
Someone asked about the dogs---they have a doggy door to go in and out so that wouldn't have been the issue. And they do have a big water supply thing but they would have been very hungry. But he has them both on a restrictive diet. Twix really needs the diet and Gunner has kidney issues so has to have his weight controlled. Just too much energy for me! Gunner hurt me yesterday just trying to get attention so I didn't stay long last night. Plus I remembered on the way there that we had a guest speaker at church last night that I wanted to hear so I headed home to feed Dh and then change for the service. The speaker was from South Africa and had a very good message plus talked a bit about his ministry there. His ministry feeds 7000 children daily--a lot of them are Muslim----only Christian groups feed the children not any Muslim group---not surprising----and by feeding them they get them to attend school, otherwise they would not come. Unemployment there is over 50% and now there is reverse discrimination---they can't hire a white person if a black person applies for the job. It has a communist type government now and they are getting ready to take away property rights of the people. How scary is that? We are so lucky to live here in the US and Canada.
Taking my friend with the broken leg to a doctor appointment today--have to be there at 8 and have to feed the dogs first so I need to get dressed and moving now. Really wish I could stay inside!

How wonderful, Lindie! I've met Dianne's dh and DD2, but not the other two girls yet. I'm glad that you all made the effort to connect while they are there.

Have a wonderful time, Dianne--and happy anniversary.

I canned 24 pints of dill relish this morning and I sure hope it tastes good. The family isn't fond of sweet relish, so this was a try at something different. I'm glad it wasn't quite as hot today, but also glad my camp stove is set up on the back porch in the shade so that I didn't have to have the canner in the house.

Betsy, it's telling that your other parents are relieved that Landon is leaving. No one wants to worry about their child being harmed, even accidentally.

Steve went back out to the ranch to cut another log today. Not for the front steps, but for the basement wall. He was kicking himself for not remembering that he needed it while he was cutting the other one. He had to pour another pier for the front steps and now has to wait for it to cure for a few more days, so I suggested that he work on that basement wall. That's when he remembered that he needs another log post.

I have been asked to watch the 7 kids tomorrow if the 4-H parents go to a council meeting tomorrow evening, but Sarah just called to say that the woman over her has not been able to confirm a time and place for the meeting. They are desperately wanting some new blood on the council, so it would be in their best interest to make the meetings easy to attend. I may go out to the ranch, one way or the other, to pick pears tomorrow. They are about ready to pick and will ripen afterwards. I'll put up my folding tables in the living room and spread them out. I'll have to get the dehydrators out going then.

Meanwhile, my kitchen is a tiny bit better for all the clutter, but still needs to be cleaned. Maybe I'll do that tonight, just to get the top layer off.

Good Evening Friends, had a wonderful afternoon with Dianne and her family at the Vancouver Aquarium. I got the biggest bear hug from Dianne, loved it !! We saw butterflies, slothes, bats, fish, walruses, otters and a dolphin, but I think they would agree with me that the best was Hope, the African Penguin !! Now I am home having dinner and resting feet and back LOL

Anne, the flies are not fruit flies, they are baby flies that will get bigger - there are still a few buzzing around and some have been caught on the sticky paper - some were steamed and removed. Right now one baby one keeps buzzing my computer screen and I keep missing LOL Hope you had a good day and visit with family - my daughter only takes 5 dollar bills to the casino with her and when they run out, she runs out LOL that is the lowest denomination of money we have in paper, the other is coin.

Betsy, glad you enjoyed some time with the family, I hope DH"s eye situation is resolved quickly and I know it is bitter sweet sorrow for you to let Landon go, but you have your other lovelies to think of too. Have a good night and a good day tomorrow too.

Cathy, thanks for that correction, I should have known you would not go to California LOL well not this year maybe next year by train or something ! How is DH doing, how are you doing, and how are all the fur babes doing?

Terri, I hope all is well in your neck of the woods ! Keep the heat, its nice and cool here, under 75F lol It was a great day weather wise, cool and cloudy in the morning but the sun came out while we were at the aquarium.

I am really really happy I was able to get tickets for the aquarium through my sister and I was really really really happy to meet Dianne and her family. I will look forward to updates from Dianne on her trip, and wish her a wonderful anniversary !

Anne, my house still has a long way to go but I did get some things accomplished yesterday between the farmers market, exchanging Nellie's lunch bag and the pizza/gelato place.
DH has inservice at school every day but the 30th on that week IF he doesn't have surgery. He knows the college students will be gone so he could be useful to the park and make a little extra money. I don't think one day is worth it but he's attracted to that place like a fly to honey! DD1 starts her inservice this week so I won't be able to go to the local eye appointment. You're right, obtaining a REAL ID is much easier with a passport, we all did it easily here. DH has always wanted to go to PEI, too bad we couldn't all meet there.
What does Victoria do at the police station? I don't mind birds outside the window but inside, I might have a heart attack! DD1 is worse than I am so when a party arrived at the outdoor seating area last night with their uncaged green bird, it was tense. The bird was well behaved and stayed at their table but we didn't know if it would fly at us at any moment. DD1 insisted we eat our gelato inside and I had no problem with that.

Lindie, things are going on a day to day and sometimes hour to hour basis due to DH's eye. He wanted to go to a movie this afternoon but wound up with a headache and eye pain so he's sleeping on the couch in hopes that will help. The blurriness has improved a great deal so at least that's positive. I don't want to disturb him or make him feel like he has to help me work ( he would) so I am just finding quiet things to do around the house. I got an RFID credit card case before we went to Europe and I love it. Have fun with Dianne and don't forget to tell us all about it.

Cathy, do you think there may be another family wedding in your future? Don't worry, I will not change my mind on Landon. Baby Cooper's mother has been informed he won't be here and she is relieved. It breaks my heart to see Nellie afraid every time he is near her so that will end in five days.Great deal on Dh's prescription at CVS! I am going to have to start scouting out deals like that for DD2 because she is on two eye drop prescriptions and we just learned that one of them is $60 monthly!

Terri, I got laundry and dishes done yesterday plus a ton of paper work. The pizza and gelato were delcious. We had the girls favorite, Margherita and DH's favorite, cheese and sausage. Most of us had blackberry rose gelato for dessert and it was incredible. I got the tiniest cup I could and mixed it with vanilla gelato, mmm. emoticon Great score on the jars, tools and hardware!

Dianne, enjoy your fortieth anniversary trip! We look forward to hearing all about it.

Betsy

Hi all!
Dianne glad you all arrived safe and sound! Have fun visiting with Lindie! Enjoy your trip!

Terri, guess it was a monkey see, monkey do at that yard sale! Glad you saw the jars first! Good deals found there!

Lindie, boo to those bugs not being attracted to the sticky stuff! I used a cup of apple cider vinegar cover with plastic wrap that I put some toothpick sized holes in to get rid of the fruit flies...it took a couple of days, but worked! Enjoy your visit with Dianne and family!

Cathy, those poor pups would have been very hungry if you got it about them, never mind the mess that would have been there! Glad Michael texted you! How is Howard doing? Was he as perturbed as you were about postponing the surgery?

Betsy, did you get your house in order? Did you enjoy your dinner & gelato last night?

My cousins expected rain today, so they came home from the campground. We will meet them today for dinner at a local Italian restaurant. Since our Sunday plans got changed and the weather was iffy yesterday, we went to the MGM casino in Springfield, MA. Glad I went, but do not intend on returning. With all the casinos closer to us it is not worth the trip. I lost $20 and I lost his money then tried to get me to spend more of mine. No way, Jose! It did rain and then cleared up while we were there, but it poured right as we got home...great timing! Laundry is now the agenda for today.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Anne

Anne, we called 2x and asked---and asked 3 different doctors---but he chose not to do it---so maddening. HOpe you found something fun to do and have a great time this weekend.
Dianne, hope you got off soon after posting and that the rest of the trip has no delays.
Terri, glad you had already loaded up a lot of the jars before the other women noticed. Woohoo to scoring some good deals on yard work equipment---sure you will need it all at the new place. Nice that you ran into those friends and were able to have lunch with them. Did you get any canning done after you got off or just ran the new jars thru the dishwasher?
Lindie, I am going to Disney World---Disney Land is in California near Terri--LOL Enjoy your meet up with Dianne and hope that it is a nice cool day for that, too.
I thought I had to tend to Michael's dogs next weekend but it is this weekend--good thing he texted me about where the directions were for their care. They were happy to see me. I have to tend them thru Wednesday morning. He took Ashlie up to New York to see her step grandmother or someone like that---not really sure---so it must be serious if he is meeting all her family---LOL

Good Evening Friends, a lovely cooler day today, great for walking - enjoyed going out, not so sweaty for me but I also do not walk fast just enough for me ! Batteling those little flies - Gene and I have a sticky strip up, will they go near it NO lol so we will try other things.

Dianne glad you made it to Chicago - I know yesterday there were lots and lots of delays across the country - hope you get into Vancouver and to your hotel so you can get some rest before 1 am my time ! See you tomorrow and I do not expect you to be full of energy !

Cathy, I am sorry to hear the surgery was cancelled because of the infection, why did someone not suggest you talk to the surgion, or was it the anesthesiologist who decided it could not be done ? I hope that the infection clears up and no more delays on things. Will DH be ok for Disneyland ?

Anne, what did you wind up doing ? Good that you asked for the boss to take over the shift !

Terri, how goes the canning and the garden ?

Betsy, hope you had a good day today, how are things ?

I am tired and still need to get 1500 steps in so I best get moving !

We are in Chicago. We were delayed due to storms here in the Midwest. I am in vacation mode. My credit card gets us into the United Club so free booze. The cruise won't be free!! Enjoying my sparkling wine. Sat next to a young man from Holland going to Alabama for a year of foreign exchange. Warned him he was going to have culture shock. I would, too. Nice young man.

I will do my best to check in. One Dd is in Vancouver, the second on her way. We get in late.

Dianne, you can check through Lindie after your meet-up and then we'll know how the first leg of your journey has gone. I'm glad you're all packed and ready.

I went to a yard sale this morning that was advertising canning jars and equipment because I'm running short on wide-mouth quarts. The lady had lots of jars for $3 a dozen, so I bought all she had that didn't get scooped up by other women. No one was looking at the jars until I started pulling them off the shelf and making a pile for myself. I guess they figured they'd better grab some before I took them all--and I would have! I will use them all.

They were selling all kinds of yard/garden tools and other tools and hardware. The woman's husband passed away a couple of years ago and she's finally ready to let go of things. You could tell that she wanted everything gone because the prices were very low. I spent $300 for about $1500 in value! We ran into some old friends there and decided to go to lunch and catch up on things, so that was fun. We don't get out with friends that much lately.

Time for me to get back to work. My kitchen is a disaster and it's not going to get any better with me sitting here at the computer.

Betsy, Lindie, Cathy, Anne and all--have a great weekend!

Morning! We are packed and ready to go--just need to finish dealing with fridge and food. I am now excited and not as nervous! LOL

DD2 is starting to relax. Her boss knows how to deal with the critters--at least sort of. They will get food--they may need a refresher on training but DD2 will deal. Her performance review was "you are great! accept the leader that you are" so that was pretty good.

I am going to get off here--and likely won't be back till after the trip although I will try to at least pop on and see that all is well.

We will get a photo together, Lindie!

Hi all!
Cathy, I actually was surprised when you said the doctor would do the day surgery, but the fact that Howard is on antibiotics made some sense about being able to do the day surgery. I would have been very unhappy and possibly made a stink about it since the surgeon said he could do it and then changed his mind...grrrrr! Lol to needing cash money! I prefer to carry less cash so that I won't spend as easily, lol!

Betsy, I hope things work out that you can go with your dh to his eye doctor appointment. Why does dh think he will work on the 30th? I'm sure you have some mixed emotions about Landon's last week. I hope it all goes well. Yay to having Aidan helping! Good luck getting your house in order again! Enjoy your pizza and gelato!

Lindie, glad you had some relaxation time after a busy day. Good idea that Gene get the larger size, too, so that he can move while having his vest under it. If he didn't get it and decided later he should have one, it probably wouldn't be available. $40 seems like a decent price for the jackets. I was thinking about getting an RFID safe wallet, but using aluminum foil around my wallet sounds like a cheaper way to keep my credit card and debit card safe. I hope you have a great time with Dianne and her family!

Terri, that was pretty crumby of the retiring 4-H leader to not do their job well before retiring. Glad your gs was able to sell the pig and not have to take it home. I wonder if the agricultural school plans to be at the fair in order to assist in those kind of situations. Yay to getting to the store before it closed and finding a great meat sale! I don't know how Tom's card got used. I got the story second hand through Julian. Glad your accounts were okay!

Dianne, I am sure DD2 is looking forward to getting away from work right now. I hope she doesn't worry too much about the care of the animals while she is away. Glad DD3 was able to only have to get 2 tires; they are so expensive! Hope you were able to pack everything you need for the trip and the baggage was under the weight requirement prior to paying extra weight fees! Enjoy your trip!

We are going to get our passport photos and send in our applications. J keeps reminding me that we should have done this years ago...well, I do wish we did it 2 years ago when I started to do it, but since we do not travel out of the country I couldn't justify the cost. However, with Rich and Ann talking up Prince Edward Island and J's desire to go to Nova Scotia I do see the possibility of a trip up to these areas of Canada some day. Also, it will make it very easy to get my REAL ID license in February, so that's a plus.

Yesterday my boss asked if I wanted her to work my afternoon shift today so I could head to NH earlier. I told her it wasn't necessary because we weren't going up til Sunday. However, when I had to deal with a couple of stupid things at the station last evening I texted her and asked if she was still willing to. She said yes. So, yay! I don't have to work today. But we can't take off til we pick up my car which is at the station for an oil change and 30k maintenance. I hope it is finished around the time we get done dealing with the passport stuff. I have to figure out where we will go for the day and possibly the night, then get ready for the day!

Have a good Saturday!

Anne

Dianne, I always take too much---one reason why I don't want to travel by plane. Hope the animals survive the trip while she is gone. Can't the boss tell off the one not pitching in? I am glad she got to take off since she is the only one there. Hopefully the newbies will have gps tracking available for their vehicles. Does your dd2 get paid mileage now that they don't provide them a place to live and have to travel to the schools? Hope you enjoy the trip and have lots of fun meeting up with Lindie and seeing all the sites along the way to Alaska and back.
Terri, sorry he needed another log but you know he have to do it right or he would not be satisfied. Building that many steps is not easy---that's why he put it off. And I don't see where the new place will have less to do---I think you all will have a lot more to do to make the new place liveable and it seems like that place has endless projects---LOL Do any of the kids say that they don't want to do that anymore? Or any of them aging out? Our county fair is this weekend but it will be too hot to go and wouldn't want to leave dh that long yet.
Lindie, enjoy your meet up with Dianne. Have you seen those Arctic hats where you soak them in water and they keep you cool for a while?
Betsy, so glad you have had some help. Hope Landon behaves for his last week---but don't change your mind. Hope you enjoyed the pizza and gelato place. Hope you can go to dh's appointment and don't let him get away with saying everything is okay---I have had to correct Dh's replys several times this week when dealing with medical people. I don't know if it is his memory or just a man thing---but I can tell when he has more pain that he admits to.
Anne, guess you had a busy Friday.
Well, we went all the way to get the surgery and then the surgeon decided he didn't want to do the surgery while he has that infection---so he has an appointment in another month---grrrrr---we called 2x to ask this very question and they said it would be okay. His regular doctor said it was probably better to have it while he was on the antibiotic. Oh, well, at least I had them make the appointment late enough that I could just take off about an hour on that day to take him.
I need to go to the bank today----need some cash money. I do miss getting a check to take in ---I really don't like direct deposit all that much---LOL---I know---old-fashioned.
Have a nice Saturday.
