Not a bad day of bowling at all! 173-120-150. Plus I won $3. DH made a difficult spare that garnered him $15. We got our $16 back, with $2 extra. No complaints!

No after-effects from bowling last Monday! So, tomorrow will be another opportunity to get better!
The league dinner was last Tuesday. DH and I ended up with $100 each. The team was 18th out of 20. We put the $200 in an envelope and it will feed our Senior Fun fund. League bowling is just not our cup of tea.
I think I will get a new ball/bag/shoes later on in the summer if I find I won't have back issues again. Since the back issue was caused by a specific incident not related to bowling, I think I'll be OK. I want to be careful to get the best ball for my skills. My dear hubby has had great results from his new ball and the pro taking the time to be sure it was right for him.
Summer has come top my part of NC... hot and humid weather is here! UGH! LOL!
Have a great week!

Well, we went to the Senior Fun league yesterday. The beginning of another 12 weeks. The attendance has dropped dramatically. So we joined up with some new people, and they are excellent, competitive bowlers. Competitive in a good sense...this couple try their best, and work to help you be your best. Both of them bowl in tournaments, but only bowl in one official league at a time. The other couple are decent bowlers, too, but more like DH and I with lower averages. A good mix. I think we will settle in here well. My goal is to make all twelve weeks. Not required, but I want to get back into the old Monday routine of bowling each week for the fun of it.
109-136-119. Nothing outstanding, but for not touching a bowling ball for 6 weeks, I feel good about it.
I hope everyone is doing well!

Back is much better... not working has helped. Cat, I am going to have to tell my client I can no longer do her hair. It will be hard, as coming to the salon is her only outing other than doctors. Only time she gets her hair shampooed. I feel bad, but it isn't fair to other clients nor good for my health. I'm praying for discernment as to gentlest way to tell her...
Bowling is on back burner for awhile. But I'm not giving it up! I won't finish the league. The banquet is May 12. We will probably be in last place because of me. DH doesn't mind, but I am sorry for the guy who joined us. We won't do league bowing again. Too many variables. We will do our weekly Monday Senior Fun Bowling when we can. Only $8 each, and it IS fun! That's what it is all about, especially when you aren't a high average bowler.
To add insult to injury, our 7 yo laptop essentially died last week. Have new all-in one HP for the desk. HUGE monitor I can see w/out glasses! LOL! Once I am used to it, I'll try to post more.
Hope everybody has had a decent Spring...looking forward to Summer!

Oh, I wish I had finished my season on a cheery note. I couldn't bowl at all last Wed. I can't remember the scores but they were in the 130's and 140's. Disaster.
I plan on driving 45 miles each way to bowl no tap every other week. I need a break from my hometown lanes and the people I bowl with all the time. Nothing wrong with them, just need something different.
Have a good summer everyone.

Finished the season on a positive note: 198, 185, and a 191 for a 574 series. Head to head won 3 out of 4, and that matches team scores as well!

Definitely not going to pick up my ball until June at the earliest, but I do want to get some practice in over the summer. I need to work on rotation and speed.

I know I posted after Patrick's last post and made comments on his games, but it is not there.
Oh well.
CC, sorry you are having back issues. As you need it to do your work is a double bad. Sounds like you will have to stop doing whatever it is with that patient. Just stay away from opioids.
Last week I bowled 175,177,141 for a 493. Not sure what happened in that third game. We won two of the three games and total pins.
Only two more weeks left this season. emoticon

Patrick, take care of your back/neck issues! I have had a rough month... even the chiropractor doesn't know exactly what is going on. Had series of x-rays this past week. PCP doesn't have a clear understanding, either. We think I damaged my lower back muscles working with a disabled client. An adjustment helped, then working with her again brought the same pain. After every adjustment, things were better. I've adjusted my plan of attack with the client, and it has helped. What both doctors say is that I am 62, and I have over inflamed my muscles. It will take anti-inflamitories and total rest for a full week to hopefully get the back into shape. No word yet on what x-rays show... Of course this means no bowling for a bit. I am resting every opportunity I can. I won't be able to stop in my tracks until April 20. Having an adjustment that morning and bed/recliner rest from then on until April 27. See RA doctor next week. I'm sure he'll have an opinion. At least the pain is getting less! But I can sure tell I am not as resilient as I was!

last evening: 167, 173, and a 171 for a 511 series. Back was actually feeling good. Other than a turkey in game 1, just could not string any strikes together. Speed seems to be OK. Not sure if it is me not putting enough rotation on the ball or has my ball absorbed so much oil that it is "dead". I'm off next week, and after the only one more week to the season, so it is an issue I will deal with during the summer. I'm debating bowling in a summer league just to keep working on my game. I haven't done a summer league in like 14 years.

Team wise we did pretty good. Blown out in game 1, but came back nicely in games 2 and 3.

Your scores don't sound so bad to me, Patrick, but I guess it's all relative......
Yesterday my team won all the games and I had a decent outing again. 515 series with 161,186,168. We had to spot the opposing team 154 pins per game and when we bowl them they usually bowl above their averages but we were fortunate yesterday they didn't.
My back is still giving me problems as well but it is making me slow down and modify my form, which apparently is not a bad thing.
Where's Lou?

Sunday's tournament scores: Started with a nice 215, then the roof kind of fell in with a 171 and a 160 for a 546 series. Way too many splits in games 2 and 3!

Last night's scores: 171, 185, and a 170 for a 526 series. Less splits but outside of a 3 bagger to start game 2, just not enough strikes. Good news is team wise we swept our opponents! So I can live with that!

Been battling neck and back issues, so I am sure this is not helping. Saw the chiropractor this morning so hopefully today's adjustment will move things along in a positive direction. May need another visit next week...we shall see.

We had similar disappointing outing, Patrick. I rolled 171 then 190 and lost it in the third game with a 145. My team did will all against the best bowlers of the league so all was not lost!

Started out ok last evenings -- 202 -- but that was pretty much it. 149 and 176 for a 527 series. Team wise we got swept! Just sooner forget about last evening.

I am bowling in a free tournament on Sunday. Our establishment sponsors it for league bowlers. It had been AGES since I bowled in a tournament. Expectations properly set...I view it as a chance to get some much needed practice in.

Good rolling, Patrick.
I have had two decent weeks in a row now and hope to continue to do well. We only have four weeks before our roll off so there really isn't much time to 'improve'. That ship has sailed.

Much better league results last evening: 202, 193, and a 228 for a 623 series! Second "six" of the season! Here's hoping i can build on those results nest week!

Team wise we won 3 out of 4 and I swept my opponent in the head to head. A nice welcome back from Jamaica!

Tough night, Patrick, but not bad series.
My team lost all on Wed against a team we took all from the last time we bowled them.
My team is still in 5th position, where we have languished for weeks since working down from first.
I started out slow as well with a 148 then rolled a nice 195 and came in with 151 for the last game.

OK so no repeat of a 600 series this week. When game one is a 141, makes for a pretty tough climb. But at least I improved in games 2 and 3 -- 174 and 206 - for a 526 series. I was especially happy with game 3. Was locked in a tight duel with in my head to head competition, got a strike in the 9th to set me up just 10 pins behind, then followed up with strikes in the 10th and 11th and a 9 count in the 12th to beat my opponent by 6 pins! That felt good!

Team-wise, we only won game 3. Nearly got series but came up short by 14 pins. But it was a fun night. There is only one team we don't enjoy bowling against, and that was last week! Everyone else is there to have fun and have some good laughs!

I appreciate the compliment Cat. I'm always on the lookout for interesting sites or fun things that may be educational or entertaining for our teammates.

Happy to see your good comeback the last two games. emoticon ! Doesn't it seem that so often when we spot a lot of handicap the other team bowls way over their averages? Gets frustrating but have to say congratulations to them and move on.

How about Patrick finally cracking that 600 barrier? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon And a grandchild, also. Whoot whoot!

Last evening's results: 201, 198, and a 234 for a 633 series! First "six" of the season! FINALLY!

I started out in game 1 using my heavier ball and promptly had splits in frames 1 and 2! So much for the heavy ball. From there, everything was smooth sailing with my lighter ball! Game 3 should have even been better, but as the lanes reminded me, they are ultimately in charge, as I had a pocket 7-10 split in the 10th!

Team-wise, we lost games 1 and 2, stomped them in game 3 and nearly won series. My head to head was the same except I DID win series!

It does seem we get a bit banged up.
Yes, I saw the tips, Lou, and I thank you for that - and everything you do for this team.
Yesterday I started out slow again with a 135 then hit 185 and 177 for a 497 series. My team, however, lost all games. This is another of those teams we have that you have to spot them 78 pins per game then they bowl their heads off and it is nearly impossible to beat them.
Oh well.
Have a good week.
Sorry you were under the weather and had to miss bowling, Patrick.

Good comeback Cat. Did you see the tip I added about the certified coaching program the United States Bowling Congress has? It's under Bowling Tips.

Nice 599 practice Patrick. Maybe that's what you need, to get a few games under your belt sometime before league.

Hoping your pains lessen this week. emoticon

This week started out disappointing with a 141 (9 below avg) but both second and third games were 176 so I ended with a 493 series. My team lost two games but won the third and total pins, breaking our two week losing streak of 1-3.
A guy that used to be on my team stopped by and told me I was releasing my thumb too late so I worked on that and that is when my games improved.

Patrick, good luck with your hip. Besides my wrist being problematic my hip has also been painful, so much so I almost called 911 in the middle of the night last week. So, I feel your pain, as they say!.

Good luck this week everyone.

The mini slump continues: 180, 145, and 181 for a 506 series. Multiple issues, especially in game 2, but even game 3 was not great...104 after five, fell off in 2nd half. Not helping is a hip flexor (at least that is what I think it is -- orthopedic Doc will officially diagnose next Thursday 2/8). Oh and no practice!

I did happen to beat my opponent in game 1, tied in game 2, and won series (lost game 3). Two weeks in a row with a tie.

AH, I get it, Lou. Thanks. You might very well be right about this and I should talk to the certified instructor first.

If the pro you are going to see was on tour, she or he does not roll a straight ball, either. My suggestion was not that watching the higher average bowlers in your center would provide you insights, and you do not need to find a straight ball bowler to give you help, but rather it was to save you time, gas, and mileage.

Most high average bowlers -- 200+ -- have the knowledge to offer positive insight into setup position, ball placement, timing, release, targeting, etc., whether or not a bowler's delivery is the same as theirs. And many of them have bowled pro tournaments. Their names just may not be well known

But the choice is yours. Merely trying to help.

Since I am still in a slump I have not checked in. Not really a good plan. Our team went from 1st to 4th in 3 weeks!
Sorry to hear your back is flaring up again, Lou. I found wearing a heat pad under my wrist brace while bowling (getting it on there at least a half hour before start) helps reduce the pain to almost nothing while bowling. I hope that works for your back as well.
We actually have a certified instructor at our lanes but my problem with watching others or getting instruction from others is I am a straight bowler, most others are not.
I am willing to drive the 50 miles to consult with an actual pro (used to be on the circuit) to see if he can help me.
Everyone try and have a good week this week.

Sorry, doc, but had to bowl. Glad I did. How fortunes change, at least for one week. Still fighting severe back pain and also for whatever reason lightheadedness usually at the end of game 2/start of game 3 the past few weeks. Falling apart, maybe? emoticon

Anyway, team started the night 1-15, but won 7 of 8. With some bumps in the road, had 173-214-206 = 593, including ending game 2 with 4-in-a-row then starting game 3 with 3-in-a-row when the dizziness hit.

A 160 pin turnaround from last week and almost a throwing a shutout at the other team (our other two doubles partners didn't win their point). Take that any night, right? emoticon

Boy, oh, boy, if league scores and my back pain week before last were bad, last week's were horrible. emoticon

Years ago Alka Seltzer ran commercials for its antacid tablets you'd drop in water where the tablets would dissolve. The words to the commercial were, "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is."

To paraphrase for my scores last Wednesday, "Chop, chop, miss, miss, oh what a disbelief it was."

Game 1: 158 -- Chopped a bucket, missed a 10 and a 7, but did make a 3/6/7 split!
Game 2: 154 -- Chopped 1/3/9, missed 5-pin in 10th, missed 4/6/7/10 split.
Game 3: 121 -- Missed 4/7/6/9/10 split, 4/6/7 split, 7 pin, 7-10 split.

Series: 433. Dropped average 2 pins for total of 3 in last 2 weeks. emoticon

Team won 1 of 8 and is 1-15, in last place after 2 weeks of 2nd half. emoticon Must recover some ground tonight!

Last Friday, back doctor officially told me no more bowling until next month's follow-up appointment. emoticon BUT, I'll try again tonight with prescribed pain pills in me and heat patches on me emoticon and hope for better scores and team wins. emoticon

Wow, a lot of news to catch up on. emoticon

Patrick, my team is off to a horrible start in the 2nd half. After two weeks in last place with a
1-15 record. More on that in my next post about last week. But, 243, a terrific start! What happened the next two games? Still picking up your 10-pins? Your average should be going up, right? Keep up the good effort! emoticon

Leah, having a newer bowling ball can indeed make a huge difference, as your hubby found out. Sometimes older balls work okay but more often they wear out and do not match up well with today's lane surfaces and oil patterns. Good for him. emoticon

As for the suggestion you increase the weight of your ball, as long as your new ball is fitted and drilled properly you shouldn't notice the extra weight after a short adjustment time and the extra weight should help you carry some extra pins. Good luck. Let us know how that goes for you and keep us updated on your husband's progress, too. (Curious minds want to know. emoticon )

Cat, it sounds as if there is not a pro shop with a knowledgeable operator where you bowl. If so, before making that long drive, consider asking the center's manager who the better bowlers are who bowl there and when they bowl. Then, if you can, stop by and watch them bowl and see how they conduct themselves.

If you notice one of them that has a nice personality you think you would feel comfortable approaching, introduce yourself and ask if they might consider meeting with you or if they could watch you in your league and offer tips. Offer to pay for their instruction or to buy them a drink. They may not even charge anything. Bowlers are so approachable, and most of the higher average ones are willing to help a fellow bowler if they can. Plus, you make a new friend. emoticon

Please keep us updated how things go, whichever way you decide.

CC, sounds like you and DH have hit your stride. Glad a new ball gave your DH a pick up.
Patrick, Lou, you seem to be bowling pretty good, consistent.
I on the other hand had a very good last week but this week it was a bust. I couldn't hit my average if it tickled me. In fact, no one on my team bowled well and we only won one game busting us into second place.
I need to travel some 50 miles to a real pro and get advice. We have a city tournament coming up in three weeks and I would like to perform better than league for that.

My scores the past two weeks were decent. Lost all points on the 9th, my scores were 129-139-115. This Tuesday we garnered 2 points. Had an absolute blast with the other team. They are about equal with us and we lost by only a few pins all the way around. I had131-111-152.
After we finished, DH went to see about having his ball cleaned or refinished. I told him to just get a new ball. They do not make anything like the one he has been doing so well with. So the pro shop guy watched him bowl with the old ball, and suggested a new ball. After I gagged over the $$, we purchased it. Went to lunch. I have never seen a ball work miracles, but from the first toss DH never looked back! We bowled two games to see what would happen. Both games were in the 180's. I have faith in our pro... DH was stunned that a ball could make that much difference. Hey! I was stunned, too! I don't know the name of the ball, and am too lazy to go see what it is! LOL! He got a new Brunswick bad and new shoes, too. Happy Valentine's Day..
I had my ball cleaned and polished. I saw a difference, too. 152 and 159. I am comfortable with my Karma. The pro watched me, too, and said I needed to go to a 12 pound ball. That is why I am the "9" queen... So once I recover from DH's shocking purchase, I will be getting a new ball, too. Seeing improvement is believing... DH had bowled three games, and had such great scores being tired, I wonder what next Tuesday holds? A good evaluation makes a difference, too.
So we are making progress...

Started out last evening with a BANG! 243!! But then settled back into mediocrity with a pair of 173's for a 589 series. Still looking for that first "six" of the season, but at least I have been above average for 3 straight weeks. I somehow need to figure out how to get some practice in during the week.

Team-wise, we got a total of 10 points, almost all of those in game 1. Solidly mired in last place!

Nice going Cat and Patrick!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Last Wednesday was dismal, a combination of bad back pain and a flood of oil on the lanes as the lane guy tried a heavier pattern he said. I hurt so much I didn't think to go to the car and get my most hooking ball. Lots of light hits and trouble making left side spares as the balls crossed the oil in the middle of the lane.

No one on our team hit average any of our games and the team was shut out all 8 points.

I managed 16 first ball nine counts but had trouble getting the balls the finish strong enough for strikes.

168-156-164 = 488.

We'll be prepared tomorrow night if he experiments again.

Hi all.
Not carpal tunnel. The therapist doesn't know what it is and suggests I go to an orthopedist.
I have a brace and put a heating pad under it on the wrist before and during bowling. So far, better.
Today I rolled 193,171,147 for a 511 series. I felt good bowling for a change.

Lou, my evening last week pretty much looked like yours last week: 213, 159, and a 216 for a 588. Had a good night of 10 pin conversions too -- 3 out of 4!

Team had a rough night -- we keep bowling hot teams! Only 4 out of 35 points!

Maybe a "six" for me next week? Getting closer...

How is your wrist, Cat? Is it carpal tunnel? I've used different wrist gloves over the years but never thought of putting on a heat pad first. Guess it is possible to teach this old dog a new trick. emoticon Hope it feels better soon.
**************************************
So, let 'er rip worked, huh Patrick? Have to try something else if what we're doing isn't working. emoticon And what a emoticon night of points!
**************************************
And Leah, glad you and hubby gave league bowling a try. It's good competition. If the fall/spring season is too long for you, how about thinking of a summer league next summer? They're usually only about 12 weeks.
**************************************
Last Wednesday was position round to end our 1st half. We were in 9th but only won 3 of 8 points against the 10th place team. My partner and I won our doubles point and our captain and I won our singles points for our 3.

Another week of good 1st and 3rd games with a slump in the middle. May need to eat something earlier, not sure.

Game 1: 216 -- Frame 1 split then clean
Game 2: 157 -- Missed two 10s, chopped 7 off 4, missed 3/6/10/7 split, made 4-5 split
Game 3: 207 -- Had 9th frame gutter then 8 count, otherwise clean.

580 series.

It's been a rough couple weeks at the lanes. We have had issues with the secretary not recording results and lane assignments correctly and I had to spend too much time trying and succeeding in getting results. Success! Now all is calmed down and we can concentrate on bowling and having fun. And, thanks to Lou for his help when I asked for it.
Yesterday we bowled a team of new bowlers and had to spot them 143 pins per game. They won the first game by 4 pins and I bowled 2 pins under my average. But, we came back and beat them the next two games and total pins.
We ended the first half in second place by 1.5 games and after two weeks are in first place.
Oh, yesterday I rolled 148, 153, 162.

Last evening's scores: 179, 157, and a 240 for a 576 series. I was so angry after game 2 that I decided to just cut loose and start cranking the ball (with more speed and more rotation) and you can see the result! I need to bring that attitude starting with game 1! My speed was a tad above 14 mph and got MUCH better results. On the down side the 10 pin was no friend of mind last night -- only converted one all night! On my head-to-head competition, won games 1, 3 and series!

Team wise we did much better too! 26 out of 35 points, won all 3 games + series.

Well, we had dropped from 10th place to 16th... but we garnered 6 points today! My games were decent, for me. 153-155-123 I will not complain. The other team is very good. Very close games. We won total pins by12 pins...
Time for me to buckle down and work on my SPage...

emoticon Happy New Year! emoticon We are frozen here in North Carolina! LOL!
Heading out to Older But Better league. Seems my team can do no better than 10th position. But that's in the middle, and we are not top notch bowlers like some people are. DH and I only bowl on the Tuesday mornings, so it isn't enough to be better than we are. And that is OK. We've decided to go back to our Monday Senior Fun group when the league is finished in April. We were never in it for the money, just wanted to give league bowling a try... Fun, but not worth the cost nor commitment.
Trying to regroup and be more SP aware. It's all a mind game, and the doctor should have never told me I didn't need to lose any more weight! Maintaining is harder than losing! LOL!
I pray we all have a good year!
I can relate, Cat! I've been tracking my food much closer in the past weeks, and I am trying to be more on SP. The past year was more difficult than others, and now I am seeing light again at the end of the tunnel. God is good!
Time to get to the lanes!

Hi all and a belated Merry Christmas.
I have been absent from this team due to a poor attitude!!
My bowling has been more down than up and my wrist has been hurting so I had to retreat.
I am seeing an occupational therapist for the wrist and hope to make some headway there.
Yesterday I wrapped a heat pad around the wrist then a new wrist brace over that. No pain during or after play and none today so that's good.
And, I bowled a 150,190,159 for a 499.

Last evening's scores: 170, 204 and a 171 for a 545 series. Positives: 5 out of 6 on 10 pin conversions. Seemed as if found my strike spot during practice but except for game 2 never was able to put more than two in a row all night. Split with my opponent -- I won games 1 and 2, he won game 3 and series. Team-wise a tough night - lost all 4 and I think we may have gotten 6 points overall. Solidly in last place. You know it is not a good night when my 545 series was the highest one on the team!

Wow, emoticon finish, Patrick, with the two clean games. emoticon

Last Wednesday was similar to the week before, two good games with a poor middle one.

Game 1: 193 -- two missed spares
Game 2: 150 -- finished with four splits
Game 3: 190 -- 10th frame missed 10-pin = 533.

Team won 4.5, lost 3.5, stayed in 9th place for position round to end the half when we pick up again on Jan. 3.

Last evening's scores: 162, 227, and a 195 for a 585 series. I did not get to the lanes in time for practice so I kind of figured game 1 was not going to be great since I had not picked up my in two weeks. Game 2 was much more satisfying with more strikes. Game 3 less strikes but like game 2 it was "clean"! 5 out of 6 conversions of the 10 pin! AWESOME!

Team-wise not so good. Only 7 points for the night, 6 of them in game 2. We're firmly in last place! emoticon But it is all about fun and fellowship, at least for me!

Last Wednesday I was the only team member to actually bowl. The others prebowled. We took 6 of 8 points from 1st place team.

Forgot to take pain medicines and cramps from the injury at Family Dollar the week before kicked in bad in game 2.

180-151-199 = 530.

We bowl tomorrow night but not the 27th.

Had 3 consistent games last Wednesday. All could have been in the 200s, except for open frames.

197-198-192 = 587. Team went 4-4 on points.

One teammate has prebowled, another has to work tonight and will prebowl this afternoon and the other has known him longer than he has known me so is likely to prebowl with him. I have a plumber fixing a leak under my kitchen sink and probably won't be done in time for me to meet them so it looks as if I will be bowling the other team by myself tonight. At least should get out early.

Had too many household priorities yesterday, so we were both absent from bowling. Who knows what happened? So, we will catch up next week.

Tough to win, Patrick, when your opponent shoots scores like that. Last week I was the only one on my team to lose my singles game point but the bowler who beat me had the pair's high game of 268. Yeah, tough to beat, but a nice finish to your series.

Last Wednesday I remembered a lesson that should not have taken me a game to recall and one I will discuss in the Tips section. It potentially cost me another 200 game.

Game 1: 160 -- started missed spare, split, missed spare
Game 2: 215 -- 7-10 split in frame 1
Game 3: 204 -- one split = 579, raised average another pin -- 11 pins in six weeks.

Team won 3 of 8 points and is 14th place of 32 teams.

Our Tuesday only garnered us 1 point, as we split the last game. My scores were lousy!
110-97-106. No one on either team had their usual scores, and no one met their average. So I wasn't alone in my misery...

Tuesday league scores: 175, 171 and finished with a wonderful 233 for a 579 series. The thing I am learning with this lighter ball: Stay aggressive! Push the speed. Good things happen when I keep my speed in the 13.5 - 14.0 mph range. I also started throwing my cross lane 6 and / or 10 pins with my normal grip and not trying to throw a straight ball. For the most part it worked last night. Thankfully I was able to try it out in my 2 practice games.

Head to head, I got swamped! My opponent had a 737 series. 'nuf said!

Team-wise, we tied game 2 and won game 3.

Always next week, but I am encouraged with my personal progress!

Wednesday this week opened games 1 and 3 by missing a 10-pin and missed a 6-7-10 split in game 1 but was clean in game 2 and the rest of the way in the other games.

First time in a long while was this consistent: 218-204-203 = 625. Raised average another 2 pins for 10 pins in 5 weeks.

Team was 5.5 -2.5.

Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Spark bowlers. Have a great and safe day.
Yesterday I bowled ok. It was a bye week for us and we won all our games, two just barely.
I wound up 2 pins under my avg and it was a struggle all the way.
My good friend beat my high game by two pins for the ytd which was a highlight of the day.
Now, on to enjoy the day.

Good practice, Patrick, and a better start this week. But what a crazy leave 2-4-5-7-8? I'm having a hard time visualizing how that happened, and then to leave the 8? Wow. That's a supportive wow. Yes, the dreaded enemy 10-pin.

Ah, well, nothing much we can do about those. Always could have been better, agreed, still five decent games overall, a 194 average for league night, and you won 2 1/2 points from your guy. Sorry to hear about your teammate's hospitalization. Happy he's back. As I wrote Leah, winning something is so much better than losing them all. On to better things next week.

League tonight. You set a high target score for me to beat. emoticon

Tuesday's results: Two practice games -- 225 and a 192. League play: 189, 193, and an even 200 for a 582 series. But it could have been much better! In game 3 I had a 182 after 8 but then came up with a lame throw in the 9th, leaving a 2-4-5-7-8 and leaving the 8 pin on my spare attempt. In the 10th, better throw but my mortal enemy, the 10 pin stood and of course I missed it!

emoticon

Head to head, I won games 1 and 3, my opponent won game 2 and we tied for series!

Team wise, we only won game 3. The slump continues. Our anchor bowler is struggling, but he was in the hospital just a few weeks back with a life threatening condition so I'm just happy he's here!

Not bad, though, for missing a week, Leah, and winning a game makes a huge difference over getting shut out.

Hope you get to practice. Choose one or two things to work on and don't worry about the scores, only about those areas you are practicing on and you should do okay.

Let us know how you do.

emoticon Everybody has done pretty well! We are able to throw that bowling ball and get about, so we are blessed! emoticon
I didn't get to bowl last week, as I worked on Tuesday. My absent scores last week were better than today's... sigh! 97-124-113=334. Not up to par. Just didn't step up to the plate today.
We won one game. So not a total loss as was last week. Somehow we are in 8th place, so it's not awful. 24 more weeks.
I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. Our lanes are open 4-9, I think Thanksgiving Day. I may go practice a bit.
Going to work on redesigning my SparkPage in the next few weeks. I need a fresh perspective again...Where did 2017 go??

Love that attitude, Cat. Brought out the best in you that 2nd game, didn't it? Now we have to get you faster out of the gate in game 1. Good going on the wins.

Good week last Wed. Team won 7 of 8 and moved from 18th of 32 teams to 12th. Had only 1 missed spare, a 2-4-5-8 bucket game 1 that I completely missed to the left, and a split each game, one a 7-10 in the 10th in game 1.

187-208-206 = 601. Raised average another 2 pins, 8 in last 4 weeks as team has moved from 24th to 11th.

Rolling hard plastic ball straight for 10-pin and 6-10 has worked wonders.
