That's fantastic! I'm close to making mine as well. I'm not sure if I'll make the 50,000 words today, but barring any emergencies, I should be able to finish by tomorrow.

Go Us!!!!

I'm not so good with chat rooms, but I like forums.

I'm less than 200 words away from my NaNo goal of 10k. So close!

I enjoy GYWO. Like most things, you get what you put into it. If you just want accountability, where you check in, you can do that. If you want to meet people, see what others are doing, there are chat rooms as well (as far as I could tell - I'm terrible with those kinds of things). If you need help focusing for half an hour, there are Word Wars scheduled different hours and different days. It's pretty awesome.

I usually just go to the romance forum. I'll have to explore more.

GYWO sounds fun!

I'm glad you're getting better!

And your kids will ALWAYS need you, even when they think they don't! emoticon

I don't know if you use the NaNoWriMo site, but they now have multiple ways you can track your project (they've added by hours I know), and I think you can also create your own personal goals. You might want to check it out if you haven't already, see if it's of any use to you.

I also do GYWO every year (Get Your Words Out), where you create a word count or time count for the year (the time count can be something like writing 120 days in a year). You check in every month with your revised total. It's on the honor system, like NaNoWriMo, and you're never required to show your work. They also have what they call "Word Wars", which are just online get togethers at specified times to write hard for thirty minutes. It's fun and casual and a good way to get support from other members. It's also free. You might want to check it out, see if it's something you might like to do for 2019.

Thanks. Still coughing, but the fatigue isn't as much of an issue anymore.

My youngest (of two) is 15, so they don't need me anymore.

It's definitely a challenge. Part of my problem was that the original story I'd planned on writing wasn't quite ready, and it was like trying to shoehorn my 7 1/2" foot into a size 6 shoe. Ain't gonna work. However, I did have another story that was ready and waiting patiently for me to realize that it was the one I needed to do. Since I figured that part out, I've been doing okay. My sister and the kids know that in November, MommaSee is a little more reclusive than usual. emoticon

But keep writing! That's what matters, and that's what means you're also a success. And feel better!!!

yeah, I know there's no way I'll make 50k. At this point, I'll be happy with 15. I was siiiiick all week and that did nothing for my word count.

Eight days in, and my expected completion date based on my current daily word count is January 15th. emoticon HOWEVER, I'm off today and am writing my tuchus off, so hopefully I'll move it up to sometime in December. I'm certain I can get back on track - the start of the month is always difficult, because a niece and a nephew have birthdays, and my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary is on the first.

What I like about NaNo is that there's a goal, but you win just by putting in the effort and doing your best - or at least that's the way I think of it. I'm fighting with my current story, so I'll lay that aside too and let it brew while I prepare for a new story for NaNo as well.

I will. it seems to be my tradition to stop my current WIP and start a new one for NaNo (but then go back to the old one after NaNo). I did one for Camp, so I'll do taht one again. However, the 50k words just isn't possible for me.

I'm mulling over writing an original fic that's been tickling the back of my neck. If I commit now, I can do some adequate prep. Is anyone else thinking about writing something in November?
