Hi all!

Welcome Anthony!
We all have different types of bi-polar and have different meds.
I take wellbutrin, cymbalta, Lamictal, Latuda at night with a full meal. It got me off ambien, but I don't like the Latuda so far, too many side effects.
I've gained 10 pounds, up set about that.

We had two great granddaughters born this week, nice!

I had a tendon shot in my hip on monday, So now I just take a pain pill at nite, its hard to sleep.
My hunny doesn't have patients with me at times. I'm also legally deaf, I have a cochlear implant, so I'll be reading the captioning, he'll say something and I don't catch it all. Upsets me.

I'm 65, been on meds since I was 45. Both my sisters are really messed up tho.

Stay in touch!

Hi Anthony! I'm Diane :) I'm 34 and I was diagnosed bipolar at age 7 (or around there). This was before they put kids on medication, so the doctor didn't really do anything besides tell my stepmom to watch me. I forgot about that for a long time, and finally got help in college. I'm on Latuda, Neurontin, Prozac and Trazadone for my bipolar, paranoid schizophrenia, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I also have PTSD that I'm working through as well. I'm pretty stable on my meds, which is SUCH a relief! I spent years being chronically suicidal and in out and of the mental hospital. I'm on disability now (SSDI) because I can't work. I do want to go back to work eventually, but I don't see that happening anytime in the near future.

I added you as a friend! Feel free to add me back! *hugs*

Hi Anthony emoticon and emoticon to the Living with Bipolar Disorder Team !! It is a pleasure getting to know you. We are really happy that you have decided to join us. Make yourself right at home. I'm one of the ones who have had Bipolar 1 all my life, but it wasn't diagnosed correctly until I was in my 40's. It took me that long to figure out that I wasn't going to make it on my own. I had to have therapy and medication to help me manage. When I did admit that I needed help, it was a long struggle to find the right meds. I have been stable for many years now, with only a few slips having to do with personally challenging situations, like the death of my father. Most of us are on some sort of meds and we all understand Bipolar well. Just jump right in and join us on the March Chat thread and introduce yourself there too. We are always happy to see a new face and to have a new viewpoint. Please post often. I hope to see you on the threads, so that we can encourage you along the way. It is great to have you here !! Take care and God bless, Deb emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am 42. I have lived with the symptoms of mental illness since I was an early teen. Like many, I didn't get good help for a long time. it's pretty controlled now and I have mostly good days. Looking forward to interaction.
