I look forward to trick or treating. We go in a hilly neighborhood, so it's a good workout. At least it makes up for some of the bingeing that may occur. Our own neighborhood is a a bit dangerous, so we go to my aunt's neighborhood. They give out the best selection of treats. We have to take multiple bags because they fill up so quick. It's easy when you wind up with a half dozen 20 oz drinks, and a whole lot of bags of chips and full size candy bars. They pass out hot dogs and hot chocolate to the trick or treaters as well.

This weekend was quite a bit of a binge weekend for me. We ate at Chickie & Pete's with my aunt and there was way more food than we needed. I had a buffalo chicken cheesesteak and then helped devour the rest of the food on the table, which included Chickie cutlets, Crabbyfries, and a pizza. Who would've possibly thought that that would be too much for a 3 year old, 5 year old, and my aunt to finish on their own.

Those are two great articles on binge eating and bipolar disorder. I didn't realize that so many bipolars have issues with binge eating. I binge sometimes on sweets, so Halloween is a biggie for me to deal with. Audreye is right, all the Halloween goodies look great and I am looking forward to seeing what Micah brings home in his bag. I will stay at home and hand out our Halloween candy to all the kids. I love the costumes that are out and about on Halloween. As the designated candy handerouter, I will have to keep my hands to myself and not partake of any goodies before I hand them out. So, yes binge eating will be a challenge for me, but I can get through the holiday without blowing it completely. Take care and God bless, Deb

We are going into the holiday season. I know it's definitely too early to think about Christmas, though I do keep seeing everyone on Facebook posting the countdown, but Halloween can be a dietary game changer for everyone. And it's approaching fast. Has anyone noticed how delightfully tempting Halloween themed treats look and sound. Mmmm.

Back to my point. The holiday season as we all know too well, offers too many opportunities to overeat. And with our waxing and waning moods, binge eating isn't uncommon.

So where do you fall? Can you resist the temptations and remain nutritionally stable? Or does binge eating disorder affect you as well?
