I'm pretty sure any doctor would just advise against drinking while taking any medication. Though I'll admit, I've had a few over the years that the doctors have very specifically warned against drinking with. I think a lot has to do with moderation and how the medications react with your system to begin with.

Alcohol is dangerous because of interaction with meds. A lot of meds cause you to feel tired and alcohol just add on and it's easy to od

Yes, drinking is a "no-no", but I also think it has to do with the meds you are on and what you are drinking and any other conditions you have. It is best to ask your doctor. I am allowed a small glass of red wine on occasion and I keep it to that. For my birthday and maybe once or twice when we cruise. You really can mess yourself up with alcohol as well as chocolate...they are both "sugars"..,that's for diabetics...

I don't drink anymore, since having had a drinking problem when my kids were little. I stopped cold turkey when they begged me to quit. I did use alcohol as a form of self medication when I was drinking. Deb

I have the HP split, and most of the time it behaves well. Of course then there are the days it demands some time off too. Temperamental, I guess.

I don't think I drink enough any more to notice how it impacts my moods. Since having the kids I stick to only 1 or 2 on occasion.

Consumers Report doesn't even list Toshiba, but I spoke with an IT guy about computers and he said they are a superior product...
I have an HP that I was able to upgrade to 10 and it is working well and I hope to have it for a while...
some HP's don't list well...but right now I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Oh no for the computer troubles!

I had my psychiatrist appointment this morning, and he was pleased to hear that I'm doing well. I won't need to actually see him for another year. Next therapy appointment is all set up for the first week in the new year.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Diane. I hope it gets fixed soon! If it makes you feel any better, it's similarly hot in my house. It's been between 30 - 40 outside, but my grandfather keeps cranking the heat up inside. We have the radiators turned off in the kids' and our bedrooms, but it's still too hot. It might be fine for him sitting around doing next to nothing, but I've been doing my housework only half dressed trying not to overheat.

Geo and I are roasting... the air is broken and it's 85 in here. I called the maintenance people and asked them if they had the part we needed and they said yes. The guy comes and says he doesn't have the part and that he will fix it tomorrow. We have been hearing that since Saturday and it's really frustrating. We have the windows open but that does nothing. I hope they fix it tomorrow before Geo and I really get upset.

My scale told me 178.8 but it likes to lie so I moved it and it said 181.6 then I moved it three more times, and one time where it said I was 181.6...they all said 178.8 so I'm taking that one...LOL!
I have to get off the devices today and do something...anything...

*hugs* Great job on the weight loss! My doctor challenged me to lose 12 pounds in 3 months but I gained instead :( I seriously need to cut out fast food. Geo had the Arby's ad and was thinking about going and if he had decided to go I would have just stayed home. I don't need that MSG and salt-laden crap when I'm recovering from a migraine.

I still have my cough left over from the flu that I had a couple of weeks ago.

I went to the doctor yesterday for a check up. It was a good visit and my doctor was happy that I had lost 10 pounds since my last visit. I was happy, too!

I went to the endocrinologist and my blood work was very good. I even went down 2 tenths on my A1c which is great...
I don't know why my airway is inflamed, but the steroids help... And the scale has been good to me...

The batteries in my scale died last month. And since the beginning of the school year for Xena I've forgotten to weigh in on Sundays like I usually do anyway. My routines haven't managed to establish themselves yet. Monday - Saturday I do alright, but my Sundays are a mess.

I want to say it's change of season causing your breathing issues. I've been feeling similarly lately.

All of a sudden I have asthma or something like it. Hard to go to the gym or do just about anything...
I would try a dollar general store or look on Pinterest for ideas... It doesn't cost a lot to make ornaments.
Your weight varies throughout the day. Once in the morning is enough...

My stepdad in LA has all of our old Christmas stuff in boxes in storage. I would love to have it, but it's not practical to ship or put on a plane. So I just have a little electric tree that we sometimes use. The lights don't work, but we could put stuff on it if we wanted.

I have been fighting my addiction to the scale. I used to check my weight 3-4 times a day and so I decided that was too often, so now I'm only going to use my scale once on Sunday morning. It hard... I put the scale in the closet so it's not as tempting, but I do see that hole where the scale used to be. I don't know how long I will keep doing it.. it seems like a good habit.

I also am very proud of myself. Two days in a row I did a mile in under 20 minutes! I haven't been that good since high school! Then again, in high school I was running 11 minute mile average for a 5k on hills. Today I had a migraine for most of the day so I didn't go walking, but I can't wait until I can get out there again.

That's really cool! A Chanukah Candle app!
So far my tree is still looking good and the ornaments are still in excellent condition. My husband bought me the Precious Moments ornaments for several years...I made dough art ornaments...the garland and lights are still good... So I haven't needed to spend a penny. Now if I could get my strength up!

I almost forgot about the app on my husband's computer that allows us to light the Chanukah candles each night. At least I don't have to worry about my cat getting burned when he jumps on the counter.

We've had our tree and other decorations for years now. Bought the tree with a JCP gift card back in 2007/2008 after Christmas when everything was marked down. It's starting to look a little beat up... well, has been looking a bit beat up since 2011 when Xena knocked it over. But it's got "personality".

We celebrate both Chanukah and Christmas, but I think that I'm only going to get a present for my niece. I think everyone else is going to get a card. It's been a rough year for us. Grateful to have a roof over our heads and food to eat.

I don't even worry about gifts for anyone but the kids. And we'll probably have them make little crafts as gifts for everyone else. As for me and the hubs. We don't feel the need to exchange. More often than not if I ask for something throughout the year he'll give it the denotation of being a Christmas, birthday, or anniversary present. Speaking of which, I don't think I "used up" any of those this year.

I have already sent out packages and none of it was wrapped. Figured the parents could decide when they wanted to give them to their children. Easier to get them done before the post office is unbearable. It is already getting bad!!

I don't know what I am going to do for Christmas... Geo got his present today (a video game) and he's playing it now. I don't know what I am getting but I like to open my gifts on Christmas day. Both of us are athiests so it's not a big deal.

My grandkids(the older ones) helped me finish up. I have a village with a train(that sometimes runs)...my tree is artificial, but it has lasted over 35 yrs and some of the glass ornaments are from when I first got married 49 yrs ago...I also made dough art ornaments...so it's a mishmosh of everything...pictures on Facebook...if you can't see them let me know. I feel like that's a little early for Chanukah. I'm so used to it landing the week of my birthday. Though I suppose I don't give it too much attention. I do know a Chanukah song from high school chorus though. That same song, every year for 4 years... you'd think they'd alternate with a different one every other year. I still wind up singing "How Many Nights?" this time of year. Not the worst ear worm in the world, but people look at you funny when you randomly start singing it.

Chanukah starts at sundown on Sunday, but my decorations are in a hutch and there's a big chair in front of it with a TV stand in front of it, so no decorations. Maybe I might do some baking later. I was hoping to help my sister-in-law decorate her house for Christmas, but since she has growing kittens, she's not getting a tree this year. I am going to a Chanukah party on Saturday and a Chanukah play next Friday night.

Happy December everyone! I apologize for the thread title not being entirely P.C., but I think it's cute, so I hope you'll excuse me.

So far I have our Christmas tree up, but no decorations on it. And if the kids don't learn how to clean up after themselves, I don't guarantee that Santa's going to visit. Too much stress for me to keep up with everything.
