Ahhhhh, the end is getting closer and closer. Everything is out of the cottage except the bed which will go tomorrow. Cleaner came today, floors are done as are the window sills. Bags are packed and in the trunk of the rent car and I'm staying the next 2 nights at a friends house. Plane takes off Tuesday night and I land on Wednesday to a special new life.

I shared what happened with my group, and they were hurt that I didn't call one of them to come help me. I'm new, but they are treating me great. I bring coffee and everyone is happy. But next time Lisa or Geo can't help me I know I can ask them. We went out to lunch and one of the women actually bought me lunch! I know I can count on them.

I tell ya, colonoscopies aren't fun, but to have it turn into a hernia and a trip to ER makes it all that much worse.....public transportation and a walk home? You have stamina, girl.

The car sold. Took it to a used car dealership and they gave me 1/2 of what I could have gotten in a private sale, but had no bites so it had to go. The "everything must go" yard sale was wearing & tiring but successful. I have a few odds and ends items which need to be taken care of, now it's just a countdown to Tuesday's flight to the mainland for a whole new life with my sweetie.

I had a colonoscopy yesterday and it caused a small hernia in my intestines. I was up at 5am, then went for the colonoscopy. Everything looked good, so they sent me home. I took a nap, and when I woke up I was in pain in my lower abdomen. I called the nurse and the doctor and they both told me to go to the ER, so off I went to the ER by myself. Geo was in a horrible mood and didn't want to even talk to me since he had to wait 3 hours for my colonoscopy. They diagnosed the hernia (small, no surgery needed) and a urinary tract infection. I need to take antibiotics for that. I didn't get home until 4:30 am... I took the bus to a close safe spot (the gym I go to, 24 hour fitness) and got a taxi home. I just woke up a couple of hours ago. I want to go to my support group tomorrow so I need to start packing my coffee bag. I'm still in pain, but I just have to grin and bear it.

Geo has his gastric sleeve surgery on the 31st and they put him on a special shake diet and can't eat any regular food... just shakes and water. I'm going on a shake diet too, and I'm having problems with my anorexia past. I don't want to eat more than 900 a day.. I know that's starvation mode and any weight I lose I will most likely gain back, but it is awesome to see the scale going down again.

My goodness! Been so busy packing and shipping to move, trying to get the car sold and everything else, it's been ages since posting.

Life is busy and stressful right now, but my mood remains good. Two weeks to go!

That's awesome, Carol! I'm so happy your hard work paid off.

As for me, I keep on sabotaging myself. Whenever I lose weight, I go out to eat fast food and gain it all back. Soon I won't have to worry.. Geo is going on a shake diet for 3 weeks prior to his gastric sleeve operation so I'm going to join him using protein shakes. I have talked to my doctor and pharmacist to make sure I can do it and stay healthy. It's going to be hell, but that's just the best thing to do for the both of us,

Thank goodness! After 3 days on the internet, endless phone calls and tears of frustration, I finally found affordable insurance! It's not the best but it does cover a lot of stuff with a minimal payment. Oh to have dental and vision, too!

*hugs* I'm sorry you are having so much problem with insurance. It sucks. Hopefully you can find something quick. I've been doing okay.. doing a lot and not really feel like writing because of my depression. I just have been walking my butt off and going to sleep. I also go to a support group on Saturday and that's going well. I like the people there.

Congrats on all the steps Diane! I've been hovering between 210 & 209. Sure do wish I could break into ONEderland by the end of the month when I move back to Texas.

Spent 3+ hours on the phone today trying to find decent insurance. I don't qualify for medicare because I'm not yet 65, don't qualify for medicaid because I'm not pregnant or taking care of a child (this is in the state of Texas). I do qualify for emergency SNAP/food stamps though. The only decent insurance I found is through CostCo and it's $300/month with a $6000 deductible. Not good. That would eat up all the money I've been able to save and then some.
My biggest concern is pharmacy meds. I've already taken myself off Abilify ($955.00/month) which means I can stop taking the propranolol which is pretty cheap and is for a side effect from the Abilify. But got a new 'script for high blood pressure and cholesterol. Loose two, gain two. What ever.
Trying not to get down about this, but it is SO frustrating.

Okay, I'm all pau complaining. Time to take a shower and brush teeth....a little basic self care for the day.

I've been doing a lot of walking... Friday I walked almost 13,700 steps (5.7 miles). I haven't been watching what I'm eating and got all the way up to 224 pounds... I'm back down to 222.4 today, so that's good. Just tired and ready for bed now.

So much positive change for me.Went to Mayo Clinic for chronic pain & they said "This is your life" narcotic pain meds, wheelchair or cane often, etc.

I said I wouldn't accept that so have been fashioning my own "treatment plan" which includes private yoga twice a week (mobility increased tremendously & stress decreased exponentially ); private trainer working on strength w/weights & interval training (yes, ME RUNNING UP HILLS!); took accelerated DBT course including mindfulness, of course.

Going to Am I Hungry? retreat in a few weeks for binge eating disorder (dxed quite a few years ago; anorexic in college! ). Just plan disordered eating.

Read book "Eat the Frog." Figure out your most important goal (me health--physically & mentally) & do what is necessary to meet that goal first thing every day. No matter what--exercise--don't leave it until you "have time."

Then have time of reading uplifting book & make progress on other goals, but not until I've taken care of my body & "bipolar" to the best of my ability that day.

Chores & "to do" lists no longer rule me. I rule me & my life as much as possible.

Reason I called psychiatric n.p. about not sleeping. Felt great--hypomanic--but what happens when the crash comes?

I've had some bad crashes & already done some binge spending while hypomanic these last couple weeks...
