WOW...major slip-up...been away from SparkPeople for months and it shows...I've gained almost 20 pounds!. I'M BACK!! Since my re-start a week ago I have lost 3 pounds...heading in the right direction again. Today was a GREAT day!! My morning fasting blood sugar was 112 and just now I tested for my after dinner reading...95!!! I haven't had a reading below 100 in almost a year! Feeling pretty terrific right about now. I controlled my portions and watched my carb intake. HUGE mood booster!!

I did great for Thanksgiving...one plate of food and only one slice of apple pie!! I am watching what I eat closely till Christmas. We will be spending a week with our kids and grandkids and I know we will have tons of food and temptations. For whatever the reason...we always go out for Sonics ice cream during Christmas vacation.

I have had an OK day. Headaches again, which are no reflection on my progress but have me feeling pretty crummy. I plan on cleaning a lot tonight. Got 30/30 on an immunology quiz despite only reading one of the two chapters. I call that a good day.

Major slip-up: I have spent the last few months battling myself. The winter holidays this year have me very depressed and I stopped utilizing SP. I am back and ready to re-commit to my weight loss journey. I am going to post daily, track foods and blood sugars daily, and get in my water and some kind of exercise daily. Doing this with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corners is going to be tough...but...I am determined to get through these two tough holidays...with everyones help!!

I am doing great today, so far!! My blood sugar is back down to a good range, 129. Much, much better than the near 200 it was when I had my episode earlier this week. I went out yesterday and bought all kinds of good foods and snacks to help me stay on my Dr.s new diet plan for me. I'm ready to get back on track...and, stay there!! emoticon

Sometimes on the weekend I'll get the take-n-bake pizza for dinner. Then on Monday I eat leftovers all day long...maybe I should try throwing it in the freezer after dinner sun. That's one of my trigger foods.

Doing good today. Had a McDonalds sausage cheese McMuffin with ice water. Lunch will be some fruits & veggies with cheese and supper will be a nice super salad with mandarin oranges. Snacks will be some salt-free chips and salsa and cheese. Feeling much better today after my near diabetic coma experience. Getting back on track and staying there!!

when discarding meds try throwing them in with used coffee grounds and/or used cat litter .. this disguises the smell and keeps animals and people digging through trash from using the discarded pills

Feeling much better today. Had a bed leg cramp yesterday..still a little sore today..but able to move around so will be able to get into town tomorrow and get my errands done. I'm eating on track today and getting in plenty of water.

*hugs Klassy* Just hang in there... don't beat yourself up over a binge, just make it so you don't do it again. If you can keep from buying it in the store, it's a lot harder to get it into your stomach lol. Fight the disability claim... get a lawyer like I said in the other thread.

What a difference a night makes! The last 24 hours has proven to be nothing but downer after downer. First one of our daughters we thought was getting out of a very bad marriage..is now considering giving it another chance. Then, I went to the SS office and was denied twice in 5 minutes. And, finally...our son is not going to get any news on his scholarship appeal till the end of this fall semester...not the three weeks we were told. My mood was so bad when I went to the grocery store...I bought bad foods...and have just eaten 1/2 quart of Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip ice cream! The good news is...my son is making great grades so far in college and my cat Feather sensed my poor mood and has spent the day snuggling with and next to me.

My most major slip up lately is not eating according to my doctor recommendations and not taking my vitamins and supplements. I feel much better when I eat right and exercise, but I find it soooo hard to get moving. It's a side effect of my meds. I am making excuses for myself because I feel guilty.

Just for today, I am going to get things cleaned up a little bit, and try to follow my meal plan.

Doing good so far today. Getting lots of house chores done while listening to a football game..waiting for this evening when the Dallas Cowboys play the Giants. Gonna be a fun game in our house as hubby and I are rivals with this game!! LOL Eating real well. I have Creamy Italian Turkey brewing in the slow cooker for supper...yummy!!

focusing on the positives and letting the negatives not slide by but not irritate me like they used to

am eating an almost nutritious lunch ... i need to find better noodles than Ramen b/c of fat and sodium content but i like the quickness they cook in the microwave. i didn't use the flavor packet and added tri-bean blend, a sardine, fat free feta, reduced fat alfredo, spices, seasonings, tablespoon each lite ranch dressing and southwest dressing, and some teaspoon ground flaxseed = protein and fiber woot (and actually tasty and quick)

I used to be on a low carb diet, so pork rinds were my dipppers of choice for salsa and such. Now that I'm on a regular diet, I don't find them as appealing as I used to. I still like them, but I can eat them in limited quantities, when before I would eat a big bag a day.

Larissa....I used to love pork skins, too!! Now, with my high blood pressure I have to watch my sodium intake and have had to drop them. I found an unsalted tortilla chip that has taken their place. emoticon

My day started at 8am...a few hours earlier than normal for me. But, it was payday and I had to get things done to be back home in time for the dish TV tech to be here for the installation. I did not eat breakfast...which is a normal thing for me...but, I also did not eat a good lunch..barely anything at all. Then hubby took me out for dinner and I ate a sensible meal, slowly (I normally finish before hubs..but he beat me this time) Now we are home with new TV and I'm not in the mood to munch.......A Good Day!!

I made a big gooog-up!

I didn't eat all day, and when I did, I decided I deserved a treat, after not having gotten any fast food for so long. So what did I do? I got a grande size carne asada burrito with cheese and ate it with hot salsa at 7pm. It's now 8:30 and I am SO sick. I forgot my sytem got USED TO low fat living. Now I am so sick and queasy, I am never going to make this mistake again. I was going to bring Mom her clean clothes I just washed, but I had to call and cancel, I just feel too gross.

Margie, just do the best you can. I sleep late too, so I can sympathize. I normally wake up around noon-1 pm. I just schedule my life around that. I go to volunteer at 3, so it gives me time to wake up, take a shower, enjoy my breakfast and all that. Just start with one little thing you do at the same time daily and work your way up from there. *hugs*

I still am having a hard time with getting up and eating in the morning. I didn't get up until one, and here it is almost five and I haven't eaten yet either. I feel like it's ten in the morning.

I have all these grand ideas about how to get on a schedule, but they never come to fruition.

Started out doing ok...then as the day worn on I started munching on all the wrong things. I was hot...not air circulation due to ceiling fan motor freezing up. New fan was installed earlier and now I'm feeling much better...but, a little guilty due to the wrong foods I ate. I will start fresh tomorrow with a nice cool house!!

Hi all,
I am on what seems to be an oatmeal diet. Yesterday didn't eat at all. Last night ate oatmeal at 1 am and at nine. Haven't eaten since, and I am not hungry, honestly. I know this isn't good and I need to be doing better. I am having roasted chicken and corn on cob and steamed fresh spinach for sup, with sliced strawberries and yogurt for dessert. Then for my late evening snack I will ahve---oatmeal.

Hello All!! Sorry I've been absent these past three days. We had our son home from college and I've been having a wonderful time with him. I ate reasonably well while he was here..lost a pound even! He is packing the van so I can take him to his friends house so they can head back to college...and...I am not sad about it this time!! We had a nice long discussion about his career path and his college plans to get there and it makes me feel really proud to be his Mom.
