My back is no better. Laid flat on my back all night as this is the only comfortable position I could find.

That pie is really good and should be low in calories. I know it is low in fat. It is quick and simple to make. The longest part is baking the pie crust.

Have to go get a mammogram done this morning , come home and get the pie, then it is off to the college for the end of the semester cookout.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Roses17 - I would love to try your recipe for Strawberry Pie. I love strawberries! How is your back doing today?

Kim - wonderful to get some real sleep, isn't it. I am really sleepy now because I went to sleep sans sleeping pill for awhile. I sleep, but it is in no way restful or restorative. It's like I say I am going to take it, then I'm in bed and sleep is actually coming, so I decide not to take it. Can't do that tonight.

Larissa - So happy your Medicaid kicked in! I know you are relieved. Takes the stress off, doesn't it?

Lucinda - Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! What gift did you give her? The weather is cool and cloudy here. Was sprinkling for a little bit. The weekend will be nice though, so I am looking forward to that.

Outside of work, I put cooked a little if you call putting meat in a oven-roasting bag and putting it in the oven cooking, LOL. I hope I make it to see Law and Order: SVU tonight. That and Scandal are my favorite shows.

I was looking for a May thread but I guess nobody's started one yet.

May is a good month so far. I got to see my psych and he agreed to lower my Risperdal and quit the Trazadone completely. I'm doing good on the Haldol, so I don't need the Risperdal. If I can get off the Risperdal, I might be able to lower my Congentin. I just want to be on as few meds as possible. Even the people in the hospital commented on how much meds I take. I can take a ton of stuff and still not sleep. The only thing that really helps with that is klonopin. But I got to see him and get my meds for free since my Medicare kicked in! Yay! I even volunteered a bit while I was waiting to get my pills. I saved at least $120 today on pills and visit alone. Tomorrow I get to see my therapist and she's going to be free as well! I get 15 psych visits and 20 therapist visits for the year. I can deal with that.

Went to town this morning to run some errands. had to have a few things at the grocery store as I am making a strawberry pie for a cookout tomorrow. If you would like to do this I will post the recipe.Strawberry Pie

1 quart fresh strawberries
1/4 cup of Splenda to coat strawberries
1 pastry shell for 9 inch pie, baked
1 package (8 oz) reduced fat cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup vanilla flavored light nonfat yogurt
1/4 cup Splenda
1 tablespoon lemon juice

1. Prick pie crust with a fork and put it in a 400 degree oven for 14 minutes
2. Cap the strawberries, slice, and coat with 1/4 cup of Splenda
3. Mix together cream cheese, vanilla yogurt, 1/4 cup Splenda, and lemon juice. Beat until smooth.
4. Put strawberries into the pie shell and put mixture on top.
5. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

Larissa glad you went to work at the clinic and made it through your day and getting home before the storm hit.

ISee glad your meeting went well and they are going to help with the disability forms and application. What I learned is you need to keep records of everything and copy all the forms and papers you send in. Good luck getting started!

Lottie we don't have much avaliable in my area either for jobs. Good luck with your search! It's so nice of you to help the center make a raised bed for flowers to enjoy!

I over slept this morning have allot I need to get done before 3:00pm when I meet the school bus for the grandkids. Also was suposse to go birthday shopping for a present for my Granddaughter's party tomorrow. My Daughter canceled so we are suppose to go tomorrow before the party to get the gift. I may have to try it on my own and I have know idea what to buy her she has so may toys and stuffed animals plus barbie dolls. I need to get my hard copy for med. and get the 3 meds. that are waiting for me plus make copies of papers I have to send in for finacial help with the dentist. They are closing the pay by incomb clinic in my town and now I have to go 1hr out of town one way to get my teeth worked on and it's more expensive. I don't want to go toothless so I will go as long as I can. The day is 84* and sunny so I should be out walking right now instead of sitting here on my butt. Take care and have a good day. Lucinda

I am still looking for a job. They are out there, you just have to search for them. Have to go to Walmart this morning to get some stuff to make a raised bed for the Kinston Senior Center. My back is so sore that I don't know that I am going to be able to get down there to put the thing together. I will try though as they are looking to me to do it.

Hello, everyone! Sorry I've been away for a bit. Haven't been that focused lately.

I went to my first NAMI support group last week. It was nice to be around people face to face with the same issues as me. One of the facilitators offered to help me with getting medicaid and disability, and after some thought decided to take her up on that offer. Everyone here knows I've bounced back and forth on the disability thing, wanting to use that as a last resort. I'm going to try for it. I really think it would help a lot at this point. I've been at this work thing trying to work up to working full-time and working like 'normal' people, and it hasn't gotten me anywhere. What I can do work wise doesn't add up to making a living.

Parent's marriage issues are still a big stressor. It is exhausting. I'm glad I'm going out of town to visit my sister this weekend. A change of scenery is needed.

I just finished my workout, so no I can try to relax a little bit. Hope everyone is doing ok...

I went in to work today and they were glad to have me back. I'm supposed to go in a bit earlier tomorrow and pass flyers and fax. I got lucky.. it started pouring around 3:30 and I walked to work without my umbrella. So at 4, when it was time for me to go, it wasn't raining too hard but I still took the bus home. When I was walking from the bus to my door it didn't rain at all! I had also worn my nice boots so my feet didn't even get wet. I don't know how the weather was after I got home since I took a little nap. I did hear some thunder for a while when I was eating dinner, but that's about it. I'm just glad I got to go home when I did.

Kim thanks for the advice I am hoping it was gastritus that caused the flair up. I do think it had to do with what I ate, almost imediately had a reaction. I'm glad you were able to get outside a couple of times today.

Larissa I'm glad you made it home from your Mom's ok. I drink the orginal unsweetened almond milk . They don't have the chocolate variety in almond milk where I shop or I would buy it. Good for you eating only a small helping of birthday cake and having a good time. I celebrate with you when your insurance starts it helps in allot of ways.

Our weather is 66* and it says it's suppose to be sunny but it's not right now should be good for walks with Toruk right now. I don't have to sit with the Grandkids for the 3rd day in a row and kind of feeling at a lose. I might go over ans visit with my Mom for a while this afternoon to catch up with her and have some people interaction. I need to get up to the library to check out books so I have something to do. I have lots of things around here that need doing but don't have the energy to do them. I'm thinking it has to do with my diet not enough protein or foods to provide energy. I'm afraid to eat right now and stick with what has been ok and not caused a flair up. Kim I would have to speak with my GP about refering me to a Nutrionilst so insurance would pay for it or most of it. Well the day is half over so I had better get moving or do something worth while. Everyone have a good afternoon and take care. Lucinda

I get to see my doctors this week! Yay! I don't know how much my copay is going to be, but at least as of the 1st I get health insurance. I will have to ask Geo to borrow some money in case I have a copay and to get a pedicure. I need a pedicure badly.

Kim, I'm sorry about the small town drama... I don't really know how that is because I've always lived in a big city. *hugs*

I know about stomach roulette as well as medication roulette. Fast food, when eaten every couple of days or more is key to a bad stomach. I can tell you that from experience. Sometimes milk hurts, so I got myself some chocolate almond milk. I don't know about vanilla or other flavors, but I like the dark chocolate one. I don't like plain soy milk and I haven't tried the other flavors of soy milk.

I'm home safe from my mom's.... it was a long train ride and when I got home I went straight to bed and slept good. Today was Geo's dad's birthday, so we went to Outback and I ate okay.. the worst thing I had was potato soup. I should have gotten veggies as a side, but I got mashed potatoes instead. I know I'm going to gain a bit more tomorrow, but at least a small victory was that I didn't have a lot of cake and no ice cream. I had about a square inch of cake and gave the rest to Geo. I just wanted a taste. I had a bout of depression when I got home, but a bath worked pretty well to get rid of it. Now it's just about bed time, and I'm going to talk to someone until I get tired.

*chuckle* thanks Lucinda .. i'm guessing you read the DYKT topic

i've been outside a few extra times today to just enjoy the weather and low humidity in all it's glory. i'm finally starting to feel less drowsy but it sure is a struggle. def not any of the top 800 ways i thought i'd be spending my day.

picked up meds from the pharmacy... saw the new shrink Friday ... not sure how i feel about her or the appt .. very cold and clinical and exposed feeling ... anyways ... she ordered geodon is some super low dose the pharmacy doesn't carry and it'll be in on Monday .. and trileptal that i've never heard of. i did manage to tell the doc that i won't be starting either until after vacation b/c i'm not playing med roulette on or before an awesome vacation.

side note to carol ... you were or are having hormone issues problems meds whatever right? that might be playing a significant part in the water weight gain edema issues .. or allergy to a pain med or something. there's something that when my dad takes it makes his knees to toes swell up something awful with water retention. i think mom finally eventually convinced him to not take it.

lucinda ... have your docs mentioned having you work with a nutritionist about your foods?? i've learned a lot on here from brute force reading everything .. but not everyone has time or patience for all that. and it's often a wait and see and guessing game. when i first started my testing for the stomach issues i finally figured out that if i ate a bob evans dinner roll that within a half hour i was doubled into fetal position in pain but they said i had no gall stones etc no reason for bleeding etc ... i'll spare ya the 20 years of details ...

Kim I hope things settle down for you and you have a better day.

Lottie I agree with you that gardening does help with stress and it's great being out doors!

Carol Ann I take latuda and haven't had the edema in my legs or feet. May be it has to do with to little salt in take for your system. When I was having problems with edema it wasn not enough protein in my system. Good luck figuring it out.

Still trying to figure out if the last attack was gatritus or IBS. I still can't eat just anything I want and may be the stress I have on certain days contributes to it. Still feel weak and no energy and it's been 3 wks since my surgery. I have tryed to increase my walking according to the weather so it helps a little. Now I have Fridays free no sitting have 2 days off in a row! The weather is 63* and cloudy I should be out taking advantadage of it instead of on the coumputer. Everyone have a great day and take care. Lucinda

Good morning! Have had a couple days off and have been enjoying the time NOT working.

Did some digging in the garden and more kindergarten crafting out in the back yard. LoL on FB, I made a new "check-in" for myself called "Carol's Back Yarden of Eden" (though I placed the marker about a couple miles away so no one can actually see where I live).

Nothing maj going on these days. Only issue lately is water retention in my feet and lower legs. Been going on since I started taking the latuda but the p-doc says it's not a side effect. Seems strange, though even keeping sodium to a minimum and drinking 12-14/8oz cups of water a day doesn't seem to help. Still happy with the lamictal/latuda combo. See the p-doc next week and think he's going to bump the lamictal....going to ask again about the edema.

The county is doing road resurfacing in MY cul de sac I have lots of machinery noise, reverse beeping, men talking and stinky exhaust messing with my little spot in paradise. grrrrr...

When I am overwhelmed, I garden. That is the best therapy I have ever seen. If you are upset, just shoving that shovel into the ground is the best "medicine" I have ever seen. It is also a great activity to just get some "me" time.

hi all. i ranted over on the mood thread.

i actually don't like summer weather.. not around here anyways. too hot. too humid. too many buzzy stingy bringers-of-death flying and crawling around. perfect to me is below 75 temp and below 50% humidity and maybe a light breeze.

anyways .. more (but different) frustrations today. got to let it go and keep on keeping on .. but man am i ever tired of dealing with other people's incompetence and ignorance.

i agree with you Lucinda .. sometimes the best and easiest way to avoid drama and stress is to be by yourself. i get bored though and start to crave social interaction but usually at the risk of drama.

Mailyn good luck with your lamictal hope it works for you.

Kim hang in there the good summer weather is coming soon and always affects the mood.

Rose glad your talks went well. I love to garden and have done container gardening the last 2 yrs at the apartment complex I live in.

Larissa glad it's going well and your enjoying your time with your Mom. The older you get the more you appreciate time with your Mom. I drink almond milk and love the taste!

We have great weather today it's 56* and sunny! I should be outside right now enjoying it instead of on the competer. Had my glall bladder out to get rid of all of those "attacks" once and for all. Unfortunatly I had another one and it's probably gastritus or IBS. Just have to wait it out. Still not the perkeist but have to go sit tonight with the grandkids. We will see if the stress causes another flare up. Seems I have to almost refrain from all contact with people to stay safe from stress which is hard to do since I live in an apartment complex. Well take care everyone and have a good day. Lucinda

I slept in super late today and I need to get stuff done, but I'm procrastinating instead. I hate getting out of this bed because it's an air mattress on the floor. My knees are legs are complaining. I leave tomorrow and I know I'm going to miss my mom. I'm just happy I got to be here to surprise her for her birthday. I know she appreciated it.

Good morning everyone. I have no plans for today. May just do a little shopping later on. They are setting out watermelons today and tomorrow. I told Momma not to try to even plan my day. Sometimes you need a day to yourself.

Lottie, I'm glad your talks went well. I can't have a garden since the apartment complex doesn't allow them, but I would love to have a little herb garden. Sadly, there is no window in the kitchen and I don't want to put it in one of the bedrooms.

Kim, good for you for looking on the bright side!

Today has been a good day.. Just spent some time helping my mom with an application. It was hard, but we got it done. I hope she gets approved. It would help her a lot. Other than that, we have to go to the store later today, and I plan on getting more almond milk for my coffee and for the train ride home.

My talk went well this morning at Pink Hill. We talked about square foot gardening and container gardening. came home, ate lunch, then went to town to get my medicine and some catfood. This afternoon, I may do a little laundry and some dishes.

Lottie, glad your appointments went well. Good luck with the talks.
Lucinda, our weather has switched from sun to rain today too. That should be nice to have more time for you.
Larissa, the strawberry festival sounds like fun. Glad the almond milk is affordable and working for you.
I am feeling a bit off today. Not sure if it is just one of those days, the rainy weather or the Lamictal. I took my third dose this morning so it could be kicking in. I guess time will tell, but I was enjoying the energy and happiness of my mood lately.

All of my appointments have gone great so far. Have weight watchers tonight and I think I may have gained a little. Tomorrow I give a talk to the seniors in Pink Hill on Square Foot Gardening and Container Gardening. Thank goodness those 2 topics link together very nicely.

Lottie good luck at all your appointments today. Hope they all turn out to your benefit.

Larissa your bound to gain alittle weight on vacation just keep everything in moderation an you should be fine. Glad you had a nice time at the festavile.

Kim sometimes things don't work out like you had hoped i'm sorry for your disappointment. Sounds like you have a relaxing day ahead of you.

Our weather today is rainy and cold compaired to the last 2 days of beautiful sunny warm weather. I still have to take Toruk outside regardless of the weather guess not long walks today. My Daughter's schedule is changing so starting next week I only have to sit 4 days a week! that will be nice now that it's getting nicer outside. I'm not going to garden this year so will have extra time on my hands. Should be able to keep up with house cleaning, SP and reading this summer plus take walks with Toruk. Depends on how I feel this summer but might see about walking with my Mom on her long walks. Everyone have a good day and take care. Lucinda

I will do my best to meet and surpass my goal. Never stop learning or trying to achieve success. Never give up keep plugging away. If it is to be it's up to me. .

I made it to the strawberry festival yesterday and had a good time. I spent about an hour and a half walking with my mom and her husband. I ate food there (Pad Thai and strawberry shortcake)- but who goes to a strawberry festival and doesn't eat strawberries? I did gain a bit of weight back that I lost. I'm letting go with my eating, but I should be back on track tomorrow. We had tacos for dinner tonight, and they were so yummy. I had 4 of them (they were smallish tacos) plus some beans. I've been drinking chocolate almond milk with my coffee since I've been having problems with lactose and it seems to be doing me good. It's so yummy and I can drink it straight out of the carton. I got a quart of it at Walmart for $2.50 (I think- but it wasn't expensive).

hi all. it's been a good day. nothing spectacular. had DBT and then got my haircut. my usual girl was working but she seems so lifeless these days. bums me out. at least my hair came out ok. got some cheap but healthy stuff at the grocery store. bought a magazine. and gave myself a pedicure after dinner. i don't think my toes were ready for it since they bled a little bit. oopsies. thankfully they don't hurt. the weather is super nice.. i should go walk but i'm using too many excuses. and i'm a bit disappointed boy i met sat night hadn't returned my text/call.

Rose you are so lucky to live in the warmer part of the country and have flowers and produce already!

Kim your vacation sounds great you are lucky to be able to travel and have a travel partner. Enjoy yourself and waiting to hear about your vacation.

Larissa good for you sticking to good eating practice! I know it's hard when you are some where else. Sounds like you are able to get your rest and get up ok.

I surived sitting alnight with my Granddaughter but go no sleep. There was one of the worst thunder lightening storms and my Toruk keep growling and barkng at each thunder! When my Daughter and Grandson got back wenthome and took a 2 hr nap. That helped me make it through the night sitting again. I still have a slight;twinge in my side from the surgery but it is s mych better. Tried breadd chicken wings and that is a no go. Still can't eat greasy foods it might be IBS like my GP said. I don't know but should nail it on the head soon. The weather is sunn after days of rain and the temp is 49*. I should be out walking Toruk today on a long walk o we both get our exercise. Have a good day and take care. Lucinda

I'm here.... I'm just not online all the time when my mom is home. I don't know what we are going to do on Monday (her actual bday) but we can find something. tomorrow if it's not raining again we are going to try and go to the Strawberry Festival. I love strawberries, so it should be fun. Today it's cold here... it's 21 degrees colder today than it was yesterday. Our high is 59. I know some people would be so happy to have that kind of weather, but it's been in the 80's in Miami and Jacksonville (where I'm at now)

you all are quiet. i'm not a fan of quiet :(

i'm heading to Logan to walk my dad's dog and get my hair cut again. i stupidly told her to not cut down/shave the back/bottom and it's a gamble I won't make again. i'd rather live with the razor burn stubble than this hairy messy growth.

i've been collecting ideas for topics and stuff for here ... I'll try to sprinkle in some new stuff later tonight.

I'm glad to know Courtney is safe. I didn't think it would be a problem with her, since she lives a ways from Boston. Still, it's good to have confirmation that she's okay. I've been eating okay since I got to my mom's... the worst I had was some McDonald's. Tomorrow I get to see Ruthie again! I've been helping my mom around the house.. I did some laundry and washed the dishes. I'm just happy to be here. I don't know what we are going to do for her actual birthday, which is Monday.. I have to see.

Courtney answered my message Tuesday ... i thought i posted it .. but my brain isn't good at remembering stuff like that ... she said that they were all OK and they're about 45 min away from Boston. She sent that a little after 6p and said it was still pretty scary and chaotic.

I made it to my mom's safely. I'm exhausted from the long travel day, so I haven't been on lately.

As for Courtney and the Boston thing, she doesn't live anywhere near Boston, so she should be okay. I haven't heard from her in a while either, but I think she had back surgery and is recovering from that.

no i didn't get it. explanation is in the post i made at noon on this thread.

the brush works super well on my dad's dog .. a large-sized short-haired labrador hound .. pulls TONS of hair off that would otherwise just shed or create hot spots

the brush i got for my small long-haired cat will arrive in a couple of days. i'm hoping it works just as well. i've been pulling the hair off her by hand but it's annoying to her and me especially with hair floating everywhere.

mom and i are going on vacation together. off US soil for basically the first time. we are going to Puerto Rico for 4 nights. may 5-9. i have to research food spots and activities. i'll share tons of pics when i get back i'm sure. we are going to tour the bacardi distillery and have a guided tour of all the photo ops spots in Old San Juan. going to sign up for an all over driving foodie tour as well. and i'm hoping to get an affordable bioluminescent bay kayak thing. haven't decided on the rainforest hike yet or not. otherwise just gonna relax. no passport needed since it's a US territory. and they speak English as well as Spanish and use US currency. no special cell phone stuff either .. just like here in the mainland.

Kim did you just get s tattoe? You will have to post a picture of it. The brush sounds great it must get all the winter undercoat when you brush your dog. Count down has started for vacation where your going sounds great! Cant wait to hear all about it.

My Daughter and Grandson went to Chicago for the day and overnight so I get Hayden overnight. I'm alittle worried that I won't be able to get up in time to get her to school Thursday. The plan was she would get a bath at her house and I'd take care of Amelia ( their dog) then go to my place to sleep. Well Hayden doesn't want to do that so I think I am going to go home and get my overnight bag and Toruk and go back to her house. It will be less trouble then hauling all her stuff over to my place. So we will see how it turns out. Take care and have a good afternoon. Lucinda

Furminator: info on the product: www.furminator.com

i go to MyPoints and click on the PetCareRX link to shop and that earns me points for free gift cards. They offer coupons and percentage discounts and free shipping sometimes. my referral link is goo.gl/HSAua

I bought mine on PetCareRX b/c they're cheaper than in stores and quick shipping.

can also buy them online from Amazon which i know SP offers a special link to click through and earns SP rebates. I'm sure you can buy them in stores but they're probably marked up a whole lot more.

i'm bummed but trying to brush it off and not worry about it. the guy to do my tattoo didn't call or text or respond on FB at all yesterday or today so far. he came over mon night and we discussed and he was doing some work in Columbus yesterday and would be back in this area early evening. well my phone was screwing up and not maintaining signal or something (so I later found out)... but FB told me he saw the FB message at 6:49p and at 9:01p and he didn't respond to either. mom (dramatically) is thinking the worst that he died in an accident or something. i told her that was inappropriate. i doubt that he'd be checking FB and reading messages if he were in an accident. and he has an iPhone that i think was passcoded so unless someone stole his phone and is checking stuff on his behalf .. he saw the messages but hasn't bothered to respond or tell me he doesn't want to do the work and make cash. just goes to show that first impressions aren't always right. i'm a pretty understanding person but silence is deafening. so i spent all day in anticipation and then anxious and then irritated and angry and def disappointed. but today is a new day. i can always get someone else to do it later in the year and use this cash for rum drinks on the beach in San Juan in 20 days.

had planned on taking it easy today with tattoo recovery ... guess i can find stuff to do now ... even despite the dreary rainy humid outdoors. it's not actively raining anymore so many i'll just go explore this podunk town some more.

you have the internet, right? check out cnn or yahoo or your local news or basically any website or blog. there were bombings at the end of the Boston marathon yesterday. there are some ppl on this team in that area. also please discuss or share thoughts in the link i provided yesterday the "ask the team for help" topic.

i'm doing well today. went to Dad's and walked the dog then brushed a pound or two of hair off him with a furminator. those brushes are expensive but whew.. once you realize how easy it is to use and clean and how efficient it is .. totally worth it!! i just ordered one for my cat.

i've made some shredded chicken stuff for burritos. and i've cleaned the shelf in my closet. going to try on some clothes that have been lurking in there. and soon (i hope) the guy to do my tattoo will be here. i finally figured out what to get. i'll put up pictures of course.

I'm getting ready for bed soon (yes, at 3pm) because I want to be asleep by 5pm. I have to wake up at 5am, so I want to get my 12 hours of sleep. Plus, I know I'm not going to be sleeping well, so I want to give my body as much time to rest as I can. I can't wait to see the look on my mom's face. I'm going to record it on my phone's camera. I'm so excited I'm surprised I'm not going hypomanic. Anyway, I'm off now to finish packing and getting ready. I will let y'all know when I'm there and safe.

Woke up at 4:00am with another headache. This is the second day in a row. I thought they were sinuses before but now I think they are migraines. I do have a history of them.

Have to go see my kidney doctor this morning. Then this afternoon I have class. Hope it rains so that we won't do much. I know that it is wrong to think that way, but I really don't feel good.

Well, everyone have a great day.

An adult human head weighs approximately between 8 and 12 pounds. so it's basically a bowling ball precariously balanced on a stick (aka the spine).

i've mentioned my IBS stuff being better since i started eating avocados almost daily. well those are about out of season now and so i went in search of other foods... i'm going to up my intake of ground flaxseed (super cheap in the whole food bins at the store. just ground for a few seconds in a basic coffee grinder. i think my was $6 from sears.)

here's a list of more stuff www.helpforibs.com/diet/fiber
1.asp
and it explains how soluble fiber is more helpful to IBS and constipation than insoluble fiber foods. there are links to their explanations and examples of both kinds of fiber.

am going to go watch some mindless tv in the form of MTV movie awards. i hear Magic Mike is up for a few awards and there are spoofs.

Twelve pound bowling ball head? Speak for yourself missy....LoL! Just kidding.

Had a rough night, too. Friday evening I went to bed at 7pm and slept until 1am on Saturday...then didn't get back to sleep until 6am Sunday morning and even that was for about 4 hours. I don't feel hypo-manic or seem to have any of the signs of it other than not sleeping for 30 hours.

It's a good day to be lazy around the house and mess around on SP... cloudy with a light rain suits me just fine today.

Mulling around leaving the island in June to head to Houston to see family and go to my 30th class reunion. More about family than the reunion. Plane tickets aren't cheap, travel time + layovers are anywhere from 11-16 hours depending on how I book it. That's a LOT of travel time! Will have to figure out how to cover the business end of things as well, which will be nerve wracking and stressful.

Guess that's about all today. Hope you are all having a good one.

i used to have migraines all the time .. debilitating ones ... since i've been eating healthier .. and losing weight .. and doing regular stretching exercises and finally seeing a great chiropractor .. they've all but disappeared

there's lot of stretching stuff you can do ... i'm sure there are videos and guides here on SP ... lateral flexion stuff ... i can't really describe it all in terms you have to look up .... but there's side to side and front to back and deep diagonal stretching ... that stretch all the way down middle back ... all those muscles in neck and back are what supports your 12 pound bowling ball head. if they're tight and sore you'll get headaches and migraines...

all the blurry vision and nausea and earache stuff goes along with it .. and back and shoulder pains ... etc... it's all connected and it all matters

I slept like crap last night. I was going to try waking up at 10am, but when my alarm went off I knew that I was just going to go back to sleep, so I silenced it and went to sleep until 12:30 or so. I'm going to try going to bed by 8pm tonight so I can wake up at 9am tomorrow. I woke up with a migraine and it's still in the background. I did take a nap trying to get the migraine to go away and that didn't work.

Kim, enjoy your vacation!

i guess my spark anniversary was back on april 3

yesterday i had a great walk and bleached my hair. day before that vacuumed the whole place with carpet fresh stuff. today i was annoyed that Walmart's stock said they had a roller i could pick up but then when they went to get the item they were out of stock. at least that saved me from driving up there. i've just finished dusting/cleaning and laundry. am still irritated. the weather outside is gorgeous. maybe i should just go sit. i don't like doing nothing though. i will color my hair soon. and plan vacation stuff. life is good enough :-)

Kim thank you for the information on copy and paste. I'm taking Cymbalta, Minipress (for sleep) Halodol and latuda. This is the best cocktail for me and keeps me stable. The Latuda was a God send it made me feel normal. Hi everyone hope you are well and have a good day. Lucinda

One, it's different for everyone. I know that my meds are more for my schizo than for my bipolar. I'm on Celexa and Depakote for the bp, and Risperdal and Haldol for schizo. Throw in 300mg of Trazadone for sleep (which does nothing for me) and that's my meds. Despite my meds, every year around winter I get depressed and don't come out until March. Pretty much as soon as I come out of the winter funk, the schizo acts up and I end up inpatient. I then go with light schizo for a while until it peaks again in summer. Around Sept/Oct I do okay and feel normal, just to be hit with the depression again in Dec. I would suggest going to a website called Daily Strength (www.dailystrength.org) and you can write a journal daily and track your mood. After a while, you can look back on past months (or years) to see your patterns. I've been doing that for about 3 years now. It's helped a lot. *hugs* I hope this helps!

not everyone is medicated and not everyone needs them and some that do need them aren't getting them .. and as already mentioned every medication works different on every person ...

i think we have a thread around here somewhere .. probably in health resources forum .. that ppl talk about their dx and meds and stuff

i was dx bp back in 2001 i think it was ... constant stream of meds and lifestyle changes ... fast forward to present .. i've been off psych meds since nov 2011 ... 2012 was pure h3ll for many reasons ... i'm just now finding a psych that maybe doesn't suck as bad as the others i've been to around here... geography and available talent pool have a lot to do with treatment!!!

uhm,... there's no easy answer to any of those questions ... basically work with your doc and keep them updated about what is happening and what is going on .. if they're worth their salt they'll be receptive and listening and caring ... there will be med tweaks if something isn't going well or gets side effects or whatever.. usually it's a hurry up and wait and see how it goes kind of game

best advice keep a journal of medA and side effects and day to day and maybe hour to hour or whatever of how you're feeling .. so you can figure out if certain daily activities or lack of sun or annoying partner or the cat ignored you or you got a flat tire sets off a rage (mania) or crying jag (possible depression)

... a lot of the pain we feel are just thoughts ... and we can choose happiness ... there's no timeline and def don't compare what you feel or go through to what others feel or go through

DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) combined with CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy done with a good counselor) are beneficial to me

Ok so still feeling pretty *bleh* today. Nausea, dizziness etc.
thanks for the link. More interesting reading.
As I deal with this withdrawal I was wondering what most people do for bipolar treatment. I guess at this point not being depressed after so long, and dealing with withdrawal I'm curious. Is everyone on meds? In therapy? Do the meds get changed as you move from normal to depressed to (hypo)manic? This wasn't really discussed with the doctor yet. He just prescribed getting of the cymbalta and going on Lamictal.
If I'm keeping myself in control while hypomanic and tracking my mood and other symptoms, do I need meds right now? I know "Danger Will Robinson, Danger". Just very curious and wanting be carefully about unnecessary drugs. Want to be a more proactive partner in my treatment.
