I usually have one word goals for the year. It was going to be "simple" this year, but upon further reflection, I think it is going to be "peace". The better angels and inner demons have been waging war in my brain and I have been dealing with extended unemployment and severe back pain (I had surgery 12/28). So I need to re-establish the peace that has been so lacking within my soul, and within my life.

I don't do New Year's resolutions. Since 2009 I have set some specific goals for the year -
9 goals in '09, 10 goals in '10...etc.

This year I'm setting some more attainable/realistic goals and taking things on a much smaller mini-goal scale. Some are repeats because they worked so great and some are new.

After next week, I'll post a 13 goals in '13 goal blog and update it throughout the year as I have in the past....but I already have a good idea what most of them are already.

I've always been intimidated by the resolution part of the phrase new years' resolution. I guess I think of goal setting instead. So my goals are:
to have my weight down by my birthday (March 3)
to not overplan anything
to eat whole foods
exercize 5-6 days per week
sleep 8-9 hours per night

Imagonna.... Dance more (alone in my home to my favorite 70's music-for exercise)
Get to stay off my cholesterol and BP meds (seeing the Dr. in three months)
Maybe actually "listen" to my P-doc
...and...finally NOT hear WII Fit call me "obese" when I step on the board!

For 2013:
I will lose 15lbs by my birthday(May 29).
I will take my measurements each week on weigh-in day.
I will get in my 10000 steps at least 6 days a week!
I will celebrate in 10lb losses instead of just looking at the 35lbs I WILL lose this year!

In 2013 I want to lose 1-2lbs a week. 40lbs total!

I'm setting a goal of under 200 by May and under 180 by next year. To do this, I'm going to try and exercise 3 of my 4 days off, drink lots of water and freggies. I need to start making my own healthy lunches instead of eating in the cafeteria.

To be more consistent w/tracking my food and get in the habit of exercising...I'm not depressed anymore, thank goodness, so there are no more excuses!
Also to eat all my meals at the kitchen table and measure myself too every time I weigh in.

i've never bought into the new years resolution thing. i've also never ever been good with thinking of goals and committing to them.

the other day i shared a picture on my FB wall.. something to the effect of

2013 I expect you to be awesome!

i commented something like if 2013 is anything at all like or worse than 2012 i probably won't make it through. so yes 2013 I expect you to be awesome!

My New Year's Resolution is utilize the information in Rhonda Byrne's The Power to assist me in the following goals.
Achieve my goal weight of 150 lbs.
Exercise daily
Create a 6 month Prudent Reserve bank account
Travel to Canada for a conference in July
Create my dream job of Philanthropist
Travel to Ireland for my 50th Birthday in November or December of 2013.
Move into my Dream Home
Hold LOVE and GRATITUDE in my energy field at least 51% of everyday!

Well, it's the last weekend of 2012...That means 2013 is quickly approaching. It's time for the New Years celebrations to begin and with them always comes the infamous New Years resolutions! I thought it would be interesting if we came up with our resolutions. Each one is unique to yourself. It can be anything from saving money, to losing weight, to doing more exercise, to avoiding a hospitalization, to spending more time with your family...whatever your goal is for the New Year. We can check in with each other every week, few weeks, month or so, whenever u get a chance and just let us know how you're doing with your resolution(s).

My resolutions for 2013 are:

1. quit smoking
2. get down to 180 lbs.
3. save $500 dollars
4. travel to PA atleast once to see my daughter instead of waiting for them to come here.

So I have 4 resolutions to complete before 2014. I think I can do it. I'll keep checking in and let every one know. I don't THINK I can do it..I KNOW I can do it!
