I've been wondering about that. I think I woudl ahve to replace most of the menu, but might give it a try if my life ever comes back to me!

Hi,
I was just reading your posts, I too was having trouble meeting the protein requirements. I then started using the menu plan, substituting the foods I can't eat because of the allergies. And I'm finally meeting the goals. You do have to eat all the things on the menu though.

If you have wheat allergies it might be real tough.

I know I don't check in often enough, but doing one team has been time consuming.

Wow! That was some protein-packing cheese!
I do beans and nuts, but have to watch nuts because they are so rich. Beans I LOVE, but have to watch so that I don't have an allergic reaction if I eat them too consistently. It's a fun life! ;)

I had chicken wings yesterday, plus soup with sausage and I've been eating wheatabix or oatmeal most days as well, which both have a few grams of fibre.

Today i will do better with protein because I am having lentils for lunch, but I tanked on the other areas--ate chocolate and drank pop cause I was feeling down. :( Gotta watch that comfort eating!

You are a good girl!
Monday I had a portion of ground beef, 2 eggs and some cheese. I'm very proud about the 2 eggs part!

Tuesday I et some cheese and sausage--probably equivalent to a 3 oz serving of meat when put together and lentils! A good serving of those. Oh, and some yogurt and milk, but...

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who struggles with getting the 60 grams of protein in. I think I've made it once or twice. I know that their theory is that if you are exercising a lot the protein is needed to help build muscle, but quite frankly I can't figure out how to get that much protein in without a protein supplement when we are only supposed to be eating a few 2-3 oz servings a day!
Ok, done ranting now.

Happy Women's Day! (March 8)
Yesterday I ate:
2 small portions homemade italian sausage (2 oz-ish)
some grated cheese (1 or 2 oz)

Don't forget that although direct proteins (legumes, meat, poultry and fish) are the best source of protein, you can also get a lot of protein from dairy (esp. skim) and whole grains.
