My go to exercise is walking, mostly when shopping. I was confined to my recliner for over 4 weeks and when I tried walking, I was too weak. i am just now getting back into the swing by doing a lot of cleaning out and throwing away, just a little every couple days. When we go south in the fall, I have access to 2 pools and will be doing water walking and maybe water exercises if I can get up and going at 8A. Mornings are physically difficult for me but there are times I have too.

Starr, anyone who thinks that way isn't good enough for you. And they'll NEVER know what they are missing. I just don't like feeling "unprivate". Very weird, I love people one on one, I don't like "people" in general. I much prefer animals.

emoticon Starr for doing today's Question. It is nice to have a break.

My go to exercise is walking because it is the easiest thing to do and about the only thing I can do. For strength I do hand weights and Spark Exercises. I've just started doing some of the easier Spark Videos

I DO ENJOY water aerobics, but getting there and paying for it are problems currently.

I loved bike riding and volleyball. But, can not do at this weight. WHO knows someday?

Quit smoking 09/09/05

Originally when I joined SP, I lived out in the country and had some farm animals (goats, chickens, ducks, geese) as well as my pets. I discovered that as I took care of the farm animals, it wasn't any different from taking care of my pets. There is the periodic lugging in of hefty bags of feed, and there is the daily feedings, watering, brushing, etc. And as for cleaning up after them, there really isn't much difference either. So now that I do not have the farm animals, I do have the pets and continue with the daily things of caring for them.

The main difference is that I no longer have an enclosed yard to let the dogs out to do their business, so now I walk them for that purpose. When they are just sniffing and staying still, I walk in place. I do have to keep them safe from the pit bull next door that snapped at Cielito so he is now afraid of any dogs he doesn't know, plus it attacked Caspian. Fortunately it didn't get a good grip! And I do have to hold on tight to their leashes when they want to chase something like a cat or a deer or in Cielito's case, a car.

I do various gardening chores, and sometimes I mow the lawn. Every evening I do some strength exercises shortly before taking the dogs out the last time.

CAROL, I SURE DO UNDERSTAND YOU NOT FEELING COMFORTABLE WHEN YOU WALK OUT IN PUBLIC. I FEEL THE SAME WAY, BEING "WATCHED". I ALWAYS FEEL THAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING; "WHAT IS SHE DOING EXERCISING? SHE IS SO FAT THAT SHE WILL NEVER LOOSE WEIGHT. SHE IS SO UGLY, WHY IS SHE EVEN TRYING?" I FEEL THAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT ME (OR AT LEAST THINKING THEM) AND LAUGHING AT ME.

Goooood Morning Starr. :)

I am a very bad girl. I try but lately without anyone joining a challenge (I MUST go find a challenge somewhere, but the one that works for me I'm not sure I can find) I seem to fall apart quickly. I do like the treadmill, but can only do that for so long because of my knee. I am hoping when we move I will be able to go walking. I used to walk daily out in the country. I just hate walking on the town streets. I feel "watched" and it's not pretty or enjoyable at all for me.

ASIDE FROM BEING ON THE GO EVERYDAY AND HARDLY EVER GETTING TO DO MUCH RESTING, I DO NOT REALLY DO ANY EXERCISE.

I GUESS THAT ALL THIS I DO EVERYDAY COULD BE CALLED EXERCISE, BUT IT'S NOT FORMAL EXERCISE. EVEN WHEN I AM TRYING TO "REST" I'M GETTING CALLED BY DH OR DD SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THEY NEED THIS OR THAT. JUST SITTING AT MY COMPUTER FOR 20 MINUTES I GET CALLED 2 OR 3 TIMES. DH NEEDS TO GO PEE, DD NEEDS HELP WITH HER HAIR, DH NEEDS HIS BOOK PICKED UP OFF THE FLOOR THAT HE DROPPED, DH NEEDS A DRINK OF WATER.

ANYWAY, AT THE MOMENT I AM WORKING ON TRYING TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN/WILL STAY WITH DH WHILE I GO TO A WATER AEROBICS CLASS TWICE A WEEK. BECAUSE OF MY PHYSICAL HEALTH, WATER AEROBICS IS JUST ABOUT THE ONLY EXERCISE THAT I CANO DO.

I'D LOVE TO BE ABLE TO WALK & EVEN RUN LONG DISTANCES. BUT, I KNOW THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
