Oh, believe me, I know. When I first was doing that (my vet also told me 1/4 c. total) which looked like nothing!!! But my babies were fat, and I knew that wasn't good. I got Pooka, my lazy girl down in 3-4 wks. to where she should be by cutting back on food and also made her walk SLOWLY on the treadmill. Vet was sooo impressed! LOL. She was overweight by more than a pound. That's alot on a 4+ lb dog. emoticon

The vet has instructed us to give Magic 1/8th of a cup twice a day, but I sometimes worry that is not enough food for her. All of our pets have free reign of all the fresh water that they want.

Each dog gets a different amount and even one gets different food! She has allergies. But for the main part, once a day, a bit over one quarter cup. Snuggles gets 1/2 c., sometimes a bit more. I watch their weights very carefully. Don't want them too skinny but overweight is hard on their hearts so I really "eagle-eye" it. :) Water at all times for them when they want it ofcourse. Vets always say they are perfect weights. :)

THAT'S FUNNY, PIP'S COLLECTION POINT IS YOUR BED.

I HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD CAT WHOSE NAME IS TULSA. WE HAVE HAD HER SINCE SHE WAS ABOUT 5 WEEKS OLD. WHEN SHE WAS A KITTEN SHE WOULD ACTUALLY SLEEP ON MY HEAD. THEN WHEN SHE GOT SO LONG THAT SHE KEPT FALLING OFF, SHE STARTED SLEEPING WRAPPED AROUND MY NECK...WHICH SHE CONTINUED TILL THIS PAST YEAR. NOW SHE EITHER SLEEPY UNDER THE COVER UP BY MY HEAD (OFTEN I WILL WRAP MY HAND AROUND HER AND GO TO SLEEP FEELING HER PURR) OR SHE WILL SLEEP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY PILLOW AS CLOSE TO MY HEAD AS SHE CAN GET. IF I LAY DOWN FOR A NAP DURING THE DAY (I AM A SIDE SLEEPER), SHE GETS ON MY HIP AND SLEEPS THERE. 95% OF THE TIME, WHEN I AM AT MY COMPUTER SHE IS SITTING RIGHT BESIDE MY MONITOR WATCHING ME. SOMETIMES SHE WILL CRAWL UPON MY SHOULDER WHILE I AM ON MY COMPUTER, LAY DOWN AND GO TO SLEEP. I DO NOT SEE HOW IN THE WORLD THAT SHE CAN EVEN GET COMFORTABLE IN THAT POSITION, MUCH LESS ACTUALLY SLEEP, BUT SHE DOES.

HAY CAROL, HOW MUCH DOG FOOD DO YOU FEED YOUR CHI'S EACH DAY? AND HOW MANY TIMES A DAY?

HUGS,
STARR

yes, Our Snuggles does the circle thing too in bed, sometimes we have to say "enough". She always sleeps with her nose tucked into her tail too. Like a fox.

For Pip, the collection point is our bed. We end up sleeping with several if we don't remove them.

I LOVE HOW OUR CHI & OUR RAT TERRIER WILL GET ON A PILLOW OR BLANKET AND BUNCH IT UP, WHILE THEY KEEP TURNING CIRCLES. BUNCH, BUNCH, BUNCH, WITH THEIR FEET, TURN CIRCLES, BUNCH TURN CIRCLES......THEY DO THIS FOR SO LONG THAT IT MAKES me DIZZY....THEN THEY FINALLY LAY DOWN. SOMETIMES THEY DO IT FOR SO LONG THAT WE ASK THEM IF THEY ARE TRYING TO DIG TO CHINA.

OUR BLACK LAB/MIX LIKES TO TAKE all OF THE DOG TOYS OUT OF THE BUCKET THEY ARE KEPT IN AND PUT IN THE BACK OF MY CLOSET BEHIND ALL THE CLOTHES. WHEN I DISCOVER THAT THE DOG TOY BASKET IS EMPTY AND NONE ARE ON THE FLOOR, I KNOW WHERE TO FIND THEM.

Oh, both those stories made me chuckle - and "rang a bell" with me too! LOL.

My little smooth coat guy Pip also tries to take his toys out with him (I stop him - most of the time!) He carries them everywhere- we often are sleeping with one or 2 toys as well as chi babies! He also thinks ALL toys are HIS. emoticon emoticon He is my little man too.

My Widget is very funny when we give her a chewy treat. She often never does eat it - she tries to "sneak" off and she hunts and hunts for a place to hide it. We have to watch surreptiously (OK, I am NOT sure how to spell that word!) or she will go and get it if she thinks we saw where she put it. And she'll put it somewhere, back off, look, opps, nope I can see it, so back she goes and gets it to move it somewhere else. Eventually she must go blind because she'll decide it's hidden! LOL. It's really funny when she "buries" it with her nose, push, push at imaginary dirt, back off, look, nope still there, push, push some more until she decides it's "buried". LOL. They do such funny, quirky things.

Awww, that made me smile....I can just picture it. emoticon

My short haired Chi Peanut carries his toys with him outside sometimes. He will trot out the door with a toy in his mouth, lay it on the deck....go down the steps to potty, then come back up, pick up his toy and go back inside. He is my little man!

emoticon emoticon I wanted to tell you all that I had a funny moment the day after Easter. Oldest DD hid all the real & plastic eggs for everyone else to go "hunt". We thought that all had been found and accounted for at the end of the hunt, but somehow one of the plastic ones (filled with peanut & chocolate M & M's) got in the back yard. When I let my dogs out for their last potty trip before going to bed, Teeny (my Rat Terrier) came back in with a plastic purple egg in her mouth. She hi-tailed it to my bedroom and up on my bed with her "treasure". She made me smile emoticon as she was laying there on the end of my bed guarding her treasure. I took the M & M's out of it so that she would not get them and get sick. And as of today, 9 days later, she is still guarding her precious little treasure. If any of the other dogs or cats get around that egg, she gently picks it up in her mouth and moves it to another place where she thinks it will be safe. She is so cute.

Does anybody else have a cute/funny store about any of their fur-babies? emoticon emoticon

Hugs to you all,
~~Starr~~
