Walking up/down stairs is a good exercise Nellie. emoticon

Since oatmeal is suppose to be good for you, I have eaten it for breakfast 3 times this week. Put a bit of brown sugar & cinnamon in it, along with a few chopped walnuts.

Yesterday I did more walking then usual, as I went to DH's pain management doctor to pick up his script to take it to the pharmacy. And today will be even more walking, as I have to go to the Veteran's clinic to pick up DH's medication from there and wait for them to fill it. Usually, while I am waiting I will walk up/down the halls for a bit of exercise.

I have been reasonably active today climbing stairs several times and also carrying 3 boxes which are full of medical supplies. (I only do this once a month, since that is how often they are delivered.)

Since today is a federal holiday and I don't have to walk to the mailbox to get the mail, I did a project I have been putting off. During the gardening months I put my tomato plants in large pots so when the weather gets chilly I can put them in the garage to extend their bearing season. Last year I noticed one of the pots has a large crack in it. I've been planning to transfer the soil in that pot to a couple of other pots where the soil was somewhat low. So today I did it. First I removed the grass that had decided to grow in there and then picked it up and dumped it carefully into the other pots. I loosened the soil and I figure by the time I plant the little tomato plants in there, the soil will have settled a little. I do feel a sense of accomplishment since I did an activity I haven't done in a while, and now the pots are ready for the coming planting season.

Yes, I agree Starr. How is it easier to believe it just happened with a big bang than God created it? That seems more difficult to me to believe, but these people are overtaken by the devil unfortunately. I have a cousin like that. He wouldn't even go to his daughters recitals because they took place in a church. Devil-filled.

OK, back to our challenge. Not looking good for me today again. I will be trying to eat healthy tho. Maybe I can find that book and/or learn and do some meditation. I would like to do it "for real" to see what and how it's done.

When I see one of God's beautiful creations (one that man has not destroyed yet) I am in aha. And think so much beauty, so many viberant & beautiful colors. It is beyond my comprenhension why some folks say that all of the beauty of this wonderfully made world just happen to appear (all on it's own) one day. I want to know how God could NOT have made the world and all the awesome beauty He put on it? How can people say that there is no such thing as God? One day, they will find out. One day, they WILL find out.

I have had that experience also. I remember being in beautiful places and just being awed by God's creation. Of course, I am inspired to pray then also!

You know, Nellie, I hate to admit it but praying, tho it does feel good to talk to the Lord, just does not do the same thing for me as "getting out" of the place I'm in to a very special place. But these places I "visit" actually are like outdoor cathedrals for me and a form of fellowship with my Lord. Just different. A wordless one. When I was actually physically there I felt like I was in the Lord's cathedral. It still feels that way for me when I'm either there in my mind or out and about visiting the phenomenal creation He made. Like when I was in the Tetons and crying as I drove because the presence of the Lord was soooo strong. Just a different form of being with Him I guess. :)

I do have to say that the companionship of my dogs and cats is wonderful. When I became an empty nester after having 6 children, I wasn't the clingy mom always calling them and wanting them to do things for me. I had my pets. Occasionally I get in touch with my kids if it has been a while since they have contacted me.

For the exercises that are pictured as being done on the floor, I do them on my bed. I can get down and up, but way too many critters are interested in what I am doing on the floor. Besides the bed doesn't hurt my back like the floor does.

My best form of meditation is praying. I find that praying is very peaceful when I can ask God to help my friends and various situations.

I LOVE all animals. (Lord knows that we would take in every stray that comes around, if we could afford it). Right now we do have 2 stray cats that we feed each day and love on as much as they will let us. I'd like to take them to the vet (both males) and get them fixed so that the can't get lady kitties pregnant, but both of the are so wild that if they even THINK your going to pick them up they run away and won't come back for a day or two.

Anyway, off subject here.....sorry about that. My dogs & cats, I think, are what are keeping me from completly "loosing it", if you know what I mean. I would say that one of my biggest stressors is my 23 year old mentally disabled daughter. She has the mentallity of a 6 to 10 year old. And sometimes, I think, depending the situation maybe only that of a 2 or 3 year old. She is VERY hard to reason with, because of her mental age. But yet, sometimes she is smart enough to know when she is being "bribed or tried to get to do thing without throwing a fit in return for this or that". But her concept of time in not there at all. She or someone else could have done something2 or 3 months ago, or even a year ago, but she will insist that it was yesterday or last night. And you do NOT dare to tell her that she is going to respite care or something that he likes this afternoon or tomorrow.......because of her no concept of time, she does not understand that the thing she is wanting she's going to have to wait till the end of the day or till she goes to sleep and gets up again. She gets mad any time that anyone askes her to do anything, such as one of her chores, even if there is a reward behind it. I am in a constant battle with her over EVERYTHING. None of the typical reward systems work with her, she wants the reward but does not to do anything to earn it. When she does not get what she wants or is told to do something that she does not want to do (make her bed & straighten up her room, or something as simple as picking up some paper off the floor) she screams, rams her head into the wall & furniture and bites herself. On any given day she has bloody marks & scratches on her from self-destruction. This behavior causes high stress levels for me. I have had her to councelors.......with no help. The say that she can't understand. Although I know that she can understand to some extent, but simply thinks that she is not going to do what she does not want to do. She's also been on psychiatric medications...none of which has helped. I do a LOT of praying over this & her, but do not really get much relief.

OK, then let's focus on your "heaven". Mine is a garden, filled with warm sunshine, birds singing, butterflies flitting, lots and LOTS of flowers, trees, just filled with peace. The garden of Eden. Animals for petting and loving up, even lions. emoticon emoticon I could picture that and go there in my mind very happily.

Ah no! Not really!! Aside from marrying my DH & giving birth to my 3 children. a lot of bad/negative things happened before, during & after those events which are suppose to be the happiest moments in one's life. So I don't have many good memories. Sadily.

Starr, I don't know anything about it other than the tiny bit I've read. But I would think you could do it or adjust it to fit your needs. I have had experiences that I am thinking may be something like meditation. Don't really know. I began a book for artists (never did get it finished). It was on finding your creative self. Can't remember it's name, I'll see if I can find it. Think it was called "The Artists Way". I don't remember just what it had you do but for whatever the exercise was I walked on the treadmill and was picturing myself on the paths on our property where I used to live. I would walk them about 3x a day all spring, summer, and fall so I got so I know nearly every step and weed! I can still picture most of those paths as if I'm there. Well, I would walk the treadmill with my eyes closed and I was "there" in my mind. It was amazing. I've never felt anything like it. I've just started doing it again but I'm not quite as good at it. I need to find that book. Do you have anything special in your past you might like to "revisit"? I'll see what I can find for that book.

Hay Carol, Meditation is something that I could look into doing, as long as it does not require me getting down on the floor. I can't do that anymore. (it also gives me a headache when I am straining to get up off the floor...as well as making my knees & hips scream at me). If I get time today, I will google that. Thx for the suggestion.

Starr, I think for you that would help and I would consider it healthy for you certainly. Now maybe you could learn meditation. I've read that that is as good for your heart as exercise! You could do it maybe 10 or 15 min. if/when you find the time?

Well, I don't know if resting (something that I rarely do)is exactly healthy but I rested almost all day yesterday. My stress level was lower then it usually is too, well for most of the day anyway.

I think I can, I think I can~~~~so I'm in!!

I drank my usual 12+ glasses of water is various forms.
Got my deep tissue massage as well which works those muscles with stretching.
Tomorrow i am going to try to do a little more walking
