Low carb is the only way for me. It makes a big difference in how I feel and my eating habits. It is like an addiction for me. Eating fruitcake (sweetened with xylitol and oatbran replacing most of the flour) and lentil soup for a couple of days made the cravings come back. So today I'm back to very low carb again and should feel better by tomorrow. It is really hard for me to lose weight but it sure is easy to gain it!

My resolution is to be consistent with my healthy eating and exercise.

Janet, I am also taking the carb control route.

I'm still thinking about goals for next year but in desperation, have already made diet changes to go low carb. That has stopped the cravings. I'm a carb addict and the more carbs I eat, the more I crave them and the situation was just getting worse. I've been very low carb (NO sugar or grains...yes, that means nothing with flour in it) for almost two weeks and it has really helped. I'm eating lots of meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheese, veggies and salad. The cravings have stopped and I'm able to resist goodies.

After the first of the year, I want to start on the P.A.C.E. exercise program. I have the book by Dr. Sears and it is a different theory using higher intensity exercise for shorter periods of time. I'm going to add that to my 3 times a week aerobic cleaning program (doing the floors in a 2,000 foot building; swinging an industrial mop was a pretty hard workout in the begining but is much easier now)

It is customary to take a look at the old year and decide what you want to do differently next year. Are you setting some new goals for 2012? Tell us what they are.
