Cheryl, This is awesome. My attitude is the same as yours--it's not necessarily how much or how long--just the fact that you are doing something on a regular basis. This is habit change for a lifetime, so we need to work within our comfort zone or get frustrated. Setting those small goals and meeting/exceeding them is positive high that makes us want to push a little harder. Congrats for getting that knowledge.

"Anyone can improve by 1%." I loved the 1% thing when I heard it. So often I need reminders that I don't have to make huge, grandiose changes that put me into a tail spin and end up crashing me into the ground for it to be change. Change can be doing one more jumping jack, walking one more minute, doing one more crunch instead of 5 more. I've been frustrated with my weight loss journey so far and I think it's due to the pre-conceived idea that I have to do a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes in order to call it exercise. I finally see that my current walk in the morning is better than not doing anything. I started out walking .85ths of a mile in just under 16 minutes. This past week I was walking the same distance in just over 14 minutes I was ecstatic! Yesterday I added to the distance and walked .94ths of a mile in just under 16 minutes. My goal is to get that down to around 14 minutes then I will go for the mile and get that under 15 and keep it going until I'm walking 2 miles in 30 minutes or under. I'm finding that taking tiny steps is keeping me motivated. I know I can do what I've already done so cutting time is the first step when I accomplish the time I want then I'll add the distance. I'm getting pumped now! This is the first time I've felt this positive in a long long time! I can do this!

Its hard to beat a person that never gives up.....and I intend to be that person!

Cheryl
