I read his article. I was hoping to get inspired but, I guess I'm just too old.

When I was 69 I was all into exercising with my DVDs and going by the calories-in-calories out diet for years. That would work for me until I could not control my hunger, then I would put the weight right back on exercise or not.

Then one day, a younger friend came over while I was exercising and gave me a compliment. She said I can not believe that you can and are still exercise at your age. Well, that got me to thinking, why am I still killing myself exercising when I'm about to turn 70 and who cares anyway.

So, from that day to this I have not exercised and I am 73 now.

I said all of that to say this. I wish my friend had never complimented me. Because my thinking after that was ALL WRONG.

I have come to realize that it is important to keep exercising for my health. Not so much to look good but to stay agile, flexible, and have balance.

Well, I have found a way to lose weight and get healthier with my diet without exercise. I actually brought my A1C down from 8.0 to 5.0, improved my triglycerides, liver, electrolytes, kidney function, and got my thyroid is in control. Now I need the inspiration to get back into exercising. I want to take some long walks and maybe ride my bicycle. But, I just can not seem to make myself start again. I think a walking partner would help. Do any of y'all live in Bonham Texas and might want to walk?

Thanks for sharing that great article. I get it, what he's saying. Exercise keeps him fit but also keeps him from getting "hangry" when he balances exercise with food intake. And the expression he coined about keeping his body from going "Full Santa". Too funny! Thanks again!

Interesting article and I am a lot like him, in terms of not feeling the “buzz” (or whatever!! Haha and I say that a lot too. He is just a little younger than me.).

The link below doesn’t work with the “s” with the http... so hopefully It will work easier here:
