I agree - but it goes beyond just losing fear, it also reflects the strength and spirit of perseverance we gain when we refuse to let cancer either define or limit us. At this stage it takes a whole lot to phase us - we are survivors....we are champions.

I messed up my knee - bad. The good news is that I don't have to have surgery and have an 8 week long rather painful daily regime of physical therapy but I'm walking almost normally now.

Funny thing - I had a bit of a psychotic break over an MRI guided biopsy. It's almost funny now, I have ADHD and they gave me diazepam to calm me down. It had the opposite effect so just imagine being super jacked up and also terrified about what the results were going to be and having to lie perfectly still for about an hour.

it sent me to therapy - literally therapy because I just couldn't deal and I didn't even know why

Anyway flash forward two years, all the cancer stuff is over and because I was feeling great I went hiking, biking, swimming, running, and twisted my knee.

so I had an MRI - it was nothing. I didn't even have to put on the gown. The technician thought I had gone to sleep. I had my eyes closed because there was air blowing in my eyes.

My doctor told me that when she called to get the results he said that I was the most chill patient he's ever had. She was concerned that I was going to have another episode. I said meh unless it's knee cancer I was fine.

After everything that we go through - we do lose a lot of fear
