Hi I'm taking taxol and carboplatin. First week is both and the 2nd and third week is just taxol.
Then on to the next round. I will be done the 3rd week of March. if you lost your hair, how long did it take to grow back. I had absolutely no side affects till I got to the 4th round. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so I can deal with it.
Have a good day and thanks for your replies
Peggy

I have a friend who had that same swelling on chemo. There's a name for it that I don't remember. She was getting Taxol (for breast cancer) when it occured. She is fine not that the chemo is done. She had to wear support hose prescribed by her doc while it was going on.

I also had 5 months of chemo....similar to you. It's a long haul and takes a while to recover from, but it can be done! I'm a little over a year out from my last chemo and very close to being back to normal. Wishing you the best.....

I ended up going for a CT Scan on Thursday to rule out blood clot in lungs as I was having a real hard time breathing upon any exertion. They cancelled my chemo for the week because of the breathing. CT was negative, but it showed I could have an infection. Started taking med for congestion and woke up on Saturday with no symptions. Now my problem is my feet and ankles get swollen after I am up walking around, been sitting with feet on pillows, I did not have chemo this week because of all of this: I did read the swelling can happen because you dont have the steroids that you get when you have your chemo. I have had chemo every week since the beginning of November. It's been a long journey but I will be done on the 19th of March.

I also have asthma. I had a lot of shortness of breath during chemo, particularly while on AC at the end. I always thought it was from my red blood cell counts being down with each round of chemo. I would let your MO know at your next infusion or if it gets bad before then to give them a call.

I could barely climb a flight of stairs without having to sit down and rest at the the top of the flight of stairs the last few weeks of my chemo. Mine wasn't asthma either...just the chemo SE's from AC. I'm fine now....a year later!

Hello to Everyone,
among the tiredness, muscle aches, etc has anyone had a problem with breathing? I have asthma that is well controlled with inhalers and is fine unless i get a cold, but now into my 4th round of chemo the side effects are really coming out. If I did any strenuous moving i could feel my chest tighten and i would have to use my inhaler, even though its not my asthma. Any thoughts.
