That is great news Faith!

My name is Shari; I have been a Sparker since July 2006, I am now in hospice care for metastatic breast cancer, but I'm not letting cancer stop me from Sparking!

Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

That's great Faith!

I totally understand not going on the meds. I've thought about dropping them in the past too, but the one I'm on rght now doesn't seem to bother me. I too am very low for reoccurance. With all of the changes going on with cancer, it wouldn't surprise me if they ended up discontinueing prescribing these meds. for people at such a low risk especially with all of the side effects you can have with them.

Faith, wonderful news on your low risk of recurrence. Woohoo!

You will inspire other women to get checked. I know that for sure since I work for breast cancer foundation on their Hope Bus (which is really an RV). It is amazing how many women don't have mammograms. Once they chat with our survivor volunteers, it affects them enough to get them done. Woohoo twice!

I don't think I wrote about any of these things but I thought it would be interesting to share.

I did stop taking my Exsemestane (post cancer med) since there were so many side effects and my risk for recurrence is so low. I went to my scheduled appointment with my onchologist and he said that we had a deal and that if the side effects were bad I could stop it and not try any others due to my risk being so low. So he was totally ok with me stopping. He said my labs were good and come back in 3 months, no more labs needed. Yay.

The other thing I am not sure if I shared here or not. I work at a hosptial with a breast center where they do mammograms, ultra sound biopsies, etc . They want to do marketing for the mammograms and were looking for someone to interview and take pictures. I was recommended. So they came and interviewed me and let me tell my story which I think is pretty cool. Took pictures of me and said that this will go out into the community for marketing. Also will be in our employee magazine that comes out regularly. I think that is really pretty exciting.

Just wanted to share.
