my purses are usually small, wallet, keys, cell phone, meds if I am on the go. I keep a makeup bag in my car for touch ups. I have washed cloth purses before, wipe off others w/antibacterial wipes.

Sometimes...I carry either a medium sized purse, a tote or just a small wrist wallet. I am always trying to downsize what I need. Can't stand lugging tons of stuff with me!

I must confess, purses, not shoes are my weakness when shopping. I usually go for a med-large shoulder bag (have them in well over 2 dozen colors, patterns, styles, materials) and carry wallet (with credit/member cards - no checkbook), small make-up pouch, brush, pills (NSAIDs), band-aids, breath mints, phone, pens in 2 colors, hi-liter (for crossing off items on shopping lists), foldable shopping bag, at-a-glance planner, glasses, tissues, and note pad. Can also fit my kindle, passport, and small water bottle when necessary.

medium shoulder bag with multiple zippered pockets to carry wallet, money, credit/debit cards, IDs, cell phone, train/bus tickets, credit cards and museum membership cards, pocket calendar, comb, lip balm, nail clipper, Kleenex, & pens or pencils. That's about anything I need wherever I go. When I want to carry books or magazines or kindle or tablet or sudoko or crossword puzzles I carry an extra tote.

I guess mine is a medium; I have all the usual essentials in mine, and sometimes I carry my Kindle in it.

When I go for my chemo or Zometa infusions, instead of a purse I carry a tote bag with my water, lunch, my book or Kindle, and a few other things.

My purse carries my wallet, checkbook, pens, my inhaler, Chapstick, and a mirror. I recently got a new, bigger purse that can hold my Kindle.

I carry a medium bag daily but if I'm going someplace where I'm doing a lot of walking, I carry a really small cross-chest strap bag that I bought for $7 in Washington, DC.

The absolute necessities are a wallet - and I've weaned down to a small trifold wallet, Chapstick, reading glasses, a pen or two, individual pack of tissues, cell phone, keys (car, home & office), a second keychain with Hope Bus keys, and a small sized flash drive - just in case.

If I'm carrying my medium bag - usually for workdays - I add my wall charger for my cell phone and a cleaning cloth for phone & iPad. I used to carry books with me but I have the Kindle app on my phone so I will read from that if I'm in a waiting room.

Medium to large size for me. I need my wallet, sunglasses, and a book to read if I end up waiting somewhere. I might have a brick in there because it is so heavy.

I carry a bag big enough to hold books or movies to return to the library, my lunch, my cell phone charger, and a sock knitting project in it always.

When we have quilt class at the library, it also has needles, thimbles, pincushion, scissors, and fabric.

If I'm not going to work, I always have my wallet in my pocket.

Do you carry a purse, if so, what size, small, med., large, x-large??? What essentials are in there that you must have at all times? What could you remove that you don't really need? Have you ever cleaned your purse? I have seen studies that show they can be real germ carriers.
