I have had it, did not really like the taste in milk or water, but I would like to try the protein pudding recipe.

I used a protein powder when I was recovering from my mastectomy. I got it from GNC, it was their top line and pricey, but I have problems healing and adding the protein powder into my diet was a miracle worker for me.

Mixed with skim milk, Greek yogurt and berries-very yummy!

If you take anything for acid control (pepsid, tums etc.) It prevents the protein molecule from separating from your food and you can not absorb it. If you are healing you need about 2 times the normal amount of protein.

I get all the protein that I need from good food; have never used protein powders.

I lump protein powders with vitamin pills - I'd rather get the nutrients from real food but can see where it could be useful in certain circumstances.

I don't use it. There are cheaper ways to get protein into my diet.

No, I never have, but I may consider it in the future.

I am starting some new chemo drugs soon, and one of the most likely side effects can be mouth sores. If I end up with that problem, it will be a soft food diet for me for awhile, so I would consider adding protein powder to shakes and smoothies to up the nutrition.

For about 2 years I used a protein powder, but can't remember which one. I know it was not Shaklee. I bought it from my friend's husband who was selling it...and it is sad I can't remember because one of their local salespeople had opened a smoothie place two blocks from my apartment. I would see the name everyday. Duh.

Now I try to find high protein natural foods instead.

I've used a Shaklee one but had to stop because of its soy base (breast cancer). I mixed with milk and a banana at times to boost the nutrition.

Have you ever used protein powders? If so, what do you mix them with, water, milk, other foods? What type of protein powder's have you used, brand names, ingredient types? Spark people has some interesting recipes that use protein powder, like pudding, check them out if you want to find out more ways to incorporate this into your diet.
