I don't do New Year's resolutions - change is initiated whenever you decide you're ready, hoist up your big girl panties and do it. I do have a few ongoing issues that I'm working on (steroid/med bloat and weight gain) and I joined a SP challenge group dealing with the same things for support and accountability. I'm also weaning myself off the scale as a measure and am trying to focus more on nsvs.

I do like to start fresh at the beginning of the year. I have made a list of goals, doing fairly well on all of them. I have had trouble keeping my night eating habit under control, I got a lot of stress at home and trying hard to change my nightly routine. I may start blogging again to help me on my way.

Good Luck to all of you! emoticon

Hopes, plans, dreams, goals . . . call them anything but resolutions! I guess it's the reputation that resolutions are made to be broken that keeps me from wanting to make them. But in all honesty, I do have some things I want to accomplish, and am working toward. As far as when I start, it's just another day on the calendar!

I don't make resolutions either; if I need to change something, I start right away, I don't wait for a new year to start.

I still start out each year though, with hopes that it will be better than the last year. I'm working on the same goals that I have been working on for the past few years.

With stage IV cancer, I will always be on some type of treatment, so that makes life a bit unpredictable. I just finished up almost 4 years of IV chemo, and getting ready to change to an oral treatment instead, so right now is a little bit of scary time for me.

My name is Shari; I have been a Sparker since July 2006, I am now in hospice care for metastatic breast cancer, but I'm not letting cancer stop me from Sparking!

I did not make "resolutions" but created my 2014 Spark Plan that has small goals for me to achieve, and on which I can build if I achieve them.

I'm slowly taking the steps to achieve them and have joined the Winter 2014 5% Challenge to stay on track.

My obstacle remains the same - crazy work hours. This week, three 13 hour days. Makes it hard to find time to exercise, so am trying 10 mins at a time, and also to feel like cooking when I get home. Have to fight the urge to stop & get something already prepared.

Did you make a New Year's resolution this year, or did you just make some goals, small steps which can get you on the right track? How is it going? have you faced any obstacles?
