I have one TV which is on almost constantly now but I don't watch it. I live alone and like to have the background noise. The only things I really watch are the news sometimes and Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. I do DVR all of the sewing shows on PBS and watch some of the cooking shows at America's Test Kitchen which is a favorite. Mostly I just read.

I just went back to cable after several years of using a Roku and Netflix. The only reason I did was that they offered a bundle which included cable, phone and internet for just a few dollars more than I was paying for internet alone. Even with the cable I still rather watch the Roku because I really like the Acorn TV channel with the British mysteries. And now, they have shows from Canada, Australia and Ireland sometimes. That way I get to see things that were never shown in the States. I have even watched a couple of Agatha Christie mysteries from France this week with the subtitles. I cannot understand why they took the Marple/Poirot mysteries, deleted the main characters and substituted a French inspector in their places.

One day at a time; one pound at a time.

I have 2 TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, though the living room TV is not working right now. I'm not really missing watching TV in the living room right now anyway, because that room is so cold at night.

I often have the TV on just for background noise, but I usually spend just 1-3 hours in the evening actively watching. During commercials, I often read.

We have one tv upstairs and one down, both with satellite. We watch the news and weather, and like singing shows like the Sing-Off (a capella). We also love John Stewart, Rachel Maddow, and Jimmy Fallon. I read or knit while the tv is on. Downstairs, I like to watch quilting shows while I walk on the treadmill.

I have one TV at home, in the living room, and subscribe to a local cable channel that services only the 3 towns in my county. I record most shows and watch them in the evenings, and watch GMA every evening. My "can't miss" show is NCIS, new & rerun favorite episodes. I think it's the right balance, though when my stress or depression levels are high, I will watch more than usual. What helps keep the balance is that I don't like reality shows, and today's comedies are crueler than in my day (or so it seems to me).

During the week, we watch about an hour per night. On the weekend, we watch a bit more. I get a lot of steps in while watching our favorite shows. I think it's a good balance. We have 2 TVs & we have cable. The food network is my favorite channel. I've gotten some awesome, easy & healthy recipes & some great tips from there.

Keep smiling!!

How many hours do you watch tv per day, week? Do you watch too much, or is it just the right balance? How many TV's do you have in your home, are they all used regularly? Do you have cable, satellite or just antenna?
