At this point, the only real gifts I buy are for the grandkids - stocking stuffers for DH and the daughters. I used to bake and distribute to friends, neighbors, fitness class instructors, etc. but instead I now collect small clay pots over the year and distribute little pots of herbs started from my own garden. It's much healthier, easier on waistlines (mine and theirs), and decorating the pots is a fun activity to do with the grandkids when they're visiting.

My answer would have to be usually too much!! I am trying to get back to making gifts instead of buying them. I also give both my kids cash gifts for Christmas..they are both in school and need the money. They are such great kids and they rarely ever ask for extras... so I try to give them some extra for Christmas. They both are prepared for when I retire within a few years...they will get home canned food and wild game!!

We do have a budget but we also don't have that many people to buy for. I love just about everything about Christmas. I dislike the crowds. I love to get up early in the morning with my cup of coffee and sit and look at my tree....so peaceful and quiet...a great time to think about the true meaning of Christmas.

I only buy for hubby. I have lots of nieces & nephew, but we don't buy them Christmas gives (we don't have kids). So we buy them really nice b-day gifts throughout the year. We spend time with them at Christmas.

I do a lot of shopping online because I don't care much for shopping & I don't have to fight the crowds that way. We don't usually really set a budget since we're only buying for each other. But we usually don't spend more than about $500 total.

Keep smiling!!

I will spend money on baking supplies but not sure how much at this point since I am still choosing recipes. My family & I don't exchange gifts so other than a Yankee swap $20 gift for a survivors' group dinner & $20 to donate to our office team's buying toys for a survivor's children, that's it.

My favorite part is seeing my town all decorated for the holidays...So beautiful with all the lights down our main street, off which I'm lucky enough to live so can see them from my apartment. Second would be the music.

Don't like how crazy people get with shopping.

Honestly, I'm so involved with my chemo treatments right now that I haven't even thought of such things. Just trying to get the energy to get my Christmas cards out. It will be a quiet Christmas this year for us.

How much money will you spend on Christmas this year, do you have a budget? What is your favorite thing about December, shopping, the music, Christmas specials, etc? What do you dislike?
