There are probably at least 20 pair in my closet but that does not mean they are all wearable. I tend to hang onto shoes way past their expiration date. It is very difficult for me to find shoes that fit so I keep them as long as possible when they do fit comfortably.

I bought three new pair last month and swore I would get rid of my old ones but I haven't done it yet.

I don't worry abut brands much but I do have a couple pair of Nikes for walking and wearing with jeans. My balance is off since I became ill so I no longer wear high heels. I have one and two inch heels in navy, white, taupe and black for when I dress up (seldom happens anymore). I have several pairs of sandals but basically only wore two pair this summer. A couple of other flats. No flip flops as I can't stand that strap between my toes.

I one had a co-worker who had shoes to match every single outfit she owned and I always envied her. I asked her how she did it and she told me that whenever she bought an outfit, she cut a snip from the seam lining and carried it with her until she found shoes to match. She didn't wear the outfit until she had the shoes to go with it.

I tend to wear what's comfortable and handy when I get dressed. It doesn't always match.

Shoes aren't my thing. My feet are weird and it's hard to find shoes that are comfortable. So once I find some I wear them until they fall apart.

Right now I have:
~work shoes (Dansko clogs - I'd wear these everywhere except they're too expensive!! But one pair will last 1 1/2 - 2 years)
~walking shoes - Reeboks that I've had for about 5 years . . . need to replace but I hate the breaking in process!
~riding boots - got these in 2006
~a little pair of leather Eastland slip-ons that I've had for at least 15 years, I still wear them several times a week! They look pretty rough but they are so comfortable I just can't get rid of them! (one of my pups got ahold of them one time & chewed a corner of the tongue so that's really attractive!)
~a pair of leather sandals that I've had for almost 10 years

I have a few pair of pumps just in case I ever decide to dress up but being a "biker chick" that doesn't happen very often anymore!

Mea culpa - I have lots of shoes. With my two titanium knees, balance and center of gravity has changed, so anything on my feet HAS to be comfortable. My closet is heavy on Aerosole, Keen, Chaco, Ecco, Born, and Abeo. Actual shoes get worn very little - usually I go from sandals (most of the year here in the desert) to boots during cool months. I replace items as they get worn out, but otherwise, when I bring in one new pair, one old pair gets donated.

I have about a quarter of as many shoes as I did a year ago. Not counting my $2/pair flip flops (about 6 pairs of those), I have about 12 pairs of shoes. I've given many pairs to a local charity. My rule of thumb is that if they aren't absolutelty comfortable to wear, I don't keep them.

I don't really have a favorite pair...since I've culled out all the uncomfortable shoes....I pretty much love them all!

How many pairs of shoes would you say you have? if a lot estimate. What are your favorites that you find most comfortable, like for everyday? If you and your family have a lot of excess shoes, many areas have donations sites to send your shoes to countries where these shoes prevent injury/infection, etc, they provide life. Think about donating your extra shoes if possible! emoticon emoticon emoticon maybe you have already done this! emoticon
