I remind myself of how it felt to be bedridden and unable to even turn over and all the weeks I spent in rehab. Then I remind myself that I am the only person who can do the exercise and eat properly. It is my responsibility and the two things I can do for my health that are totally in my control.

It has helped tremendously having a trainer to supervise my exercise program. Just knowing that she can look in the computer and see if I have been slacking keeps me exercising when I really don't feel like it.

I too find strength in myself - the old "if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger". At this point, I'm feeling like at least 50% kevlar. Every obstacle faced, every issue dealt with, helps hone decision-making and problem-solving skills - in essence stabilizing psychological and emotional core. I use SP trackers to help keep me accountable and some team forums to vent and connect with others in the same boat.

In all honesty, it's myself. I've always been a survivor and after wallowing for awhile (short), I pick myself up and go on. My mantra has always been "this too shall pass" and it always does. Not as quickly as I'd like sometimes, but it does pass.

Who or what inspires you to keep going, even when the going gets hard?
The women I meet through my job and this team who face the challenges of surgery, treatment & emotions of breast cancer. I realize that though being healthy is my struggle, I can do it given how you all enjoy life.

How do you stay self disciplined?
By reviewing my *SPARK RESTART* plan that I put in place on May 1st.

What features on Spark People help you the most to keep healthy and active?
Nutrition tracking and blogging

Do you read others blogs to support them and inspire yourself, if not, please give it a try!
I do read others' blogs, both to support them & to get ideas. They always help me realize I'm not alone in the struggle to be healthy.

I read lots of SP blogs & look at before/after photos nearly every day. Yes, some days are really, really hard, but I feel so much better that it's all been worth it. I have a ways go to, but I'm already well over half-way. I'll just keep plugging along.

Keep smiling!!
