I'll start with BBQ since that's easy. I don't have a favorite BBQ since I don't eat meat nor do I have a grill.

John & I pack a picnic lunch when we go to a local vineyard to hear jazz. Ours is usually packed with a selection of nice cheeses, crackers, grapes, berries, watermelon, a chocolate or two, all drunk with white wine we purchase there.

My picnic basket would have sandwiches and fresh fruit (grapes, cherries are favorites), and probably a salad.

My favorite bbq is either ribs (if they aren't too fatty) or brisket. However, just about any meat tastes better grilled with bbq sauce!

My picnic basket usually has Japanese cucmber salad, tuna salad, and whatever the farmers market had that day. Although that may change. My husband has a friend at work that let us gleen from the family's garden this morning. We picked 8 pint bags if strawberries and 12 cups of rhubarb. I just finished canning some strawberry rhubarb jam. We barely put a dent in the overages they had. So I have a feeling that most of our picnic basket's are going to be much more closely related to the season. BBQ food: Steaks, grilled corn and grilled peaches.

I have to say it's a toss-up between BBQ chicken and pork spare ribs. Like either with a nice crisp salad full of veggies, perhaps a little shredded cheese, and of course, iced tea and fresh fruit. When the GKS and I do a "spur of the moment picnic" to the park or elsewhere, it usually means pb&j sandwiches and apples, something like that.

Went out for dinner today, and I had a nice salad, part of a baked sweet potato, and a 6 oz. portion of grilled salmon. Very tasty and I was stuffed. I was bad....had a roll, but they are so good there.....

My favorite BBQ is a regional chain based out of Charleston, SC, called Sticky Fingers. Meat that slides off the bone.

And just so there's no doubt, BBQ is PORK NOT BEEF. Anyone who thinks BBQ is beef is a heathen. emoticon

In my picnic basket, you might find - chicken sandwiches with lots of lettuce & tomato, apples, cheese, grapes & bottles of water.

Hmm. My favorite BBQ food -- burgers & dogs. Usually I can get my sister to split a burger with me because she & I won't eat a whole one.

Keep smiling!!
