That sounds like it's going to be good news when you get the final report! A cyst is simply a fluid-filled sac within the breast tissue (like a water balloon). On ultrasound it looks black compared to the tissue around it, the borders are very smooth and it is round or oval-shaped. A complex cyst on ultrasound has cystic areas but also may appear to have areas in it that look more like the texture of the tissue around it. Still oval or round, and usually you can see smooth borders. However, sometimes a simple cyst, if it is deep in the breast tissue, or if the tissue around it is very dense, can look similar to a complex cyst. Either way, they are benign. The reason they biopsy complex cysts is just to make sure that the solid component of the cyst is not cancer. But it sounds like they are pretty certain it's not. So try to relax & expect a good report when you get the final result! They may still want to do an ultrasound every 6 months for a couple of years just to keep an eye on it and make certain that it's not changing at all. But that's not something for you to worry about, it's just a precaution. We'd rather be safe than sorry!

Hugs and prayers...
You have the strength to get through this. We are standing with you as you wait, and whatever the outcome, we will support you. Try not to worry needlessly.
You already have very good news. Remember that the person who did the test is not allowed to tell you whether it is cancer or not. It must be officially studied, so that they are sure they give you the right information.
If you pray, pray for peace in waiting, and for an ease in worrying.
Hugs
Caro

Well, my biopsy was today.

At first, they couldn't find the lump. I was talking to the woman who did my ultrasound and she said some women come in and you can tell it's cancer and mine wasn't like that. She said it was round in shape and looked more like a complex cyst to her.

I just don't know what to think and I am scared.

THanks for reading.
