Did you try asking a close friend or family member if they noticed anything? It could be, and I hope it is, just your sense of smell. If others do notice it, talk to your Dr about it, and see if there is another drug he can give you to either eliminate the smell, or a totally different med to help you. Please don't struggle thru this by yourself. First step, find out if it's just you, then move on to step two... Good luck....

Never experienced that side effect, but I don't think I had the same chemo. You could try dabbing perfume or scented lotion under your nose.

I was just going to ask the same thing. My cousin's sense of smell was on overdrive when she was in treatment, and she would complain about things none of the rest of us could smell. Talk to the Dr. and then ask a family member or a close friend if it's just you, or if they notice it too. Hoping it's just you..... Good luck.

Do other people smell it or just you? Just curious if it is actually just your srnse of smell that is doing that vs you actually stinking. The reason I ask is that my friend that gets chemo smells things that others don't smell.

Speak to your oncologist about this. Chances are they have something that can handle the side effects.

My "flavor of the month" right now in the chemo department is Doxel. I guess it's working okay, Im still here and the side effects are easier than my last. Won't know for sure until my next scan. The problem is, I stink. I stink BADLY. My urine and sweat smells. My clothes smell. My HOUSE smells. Everything smells like this drug. I go through terrible sweats that soak my clothes and furniture. Being at someone else's place when it happens is awful, because then THEIR house smells! I have to continuously wash my coats and seat covers in my truck. I have throws on all my furniture I have to wash at least once a week and my house still smells. When I have bouts of nausea the smell is unbearable to me.
Does anyone else have this "problem" and how do you deal with it? No amount of body wash, powder or perfume helps. I Febreze and Lysol my furniture and truck to distraction, and still they stink. I had an "episode" while sitting last night and spent the next 1 1/2 hrs trying to clean up the house I was sitting at. Yuk!!! Any ideas?
