I remember after surgery for a long time I would feel pain at different times. It has subsided but I am almost 5 years out. When I asked about it the nurse said it was perfectly normal. So I did not worry about it. We are all so very different. Check in with your healthcare people. They know you and can help you best. Prayer with you on your journey.

I am two year survivor of BC! I had a double mastectomy. I feel sore lumps
near my incision as well. I try not to be two worried about it. I used to get
these when it was near my period. But I had a complete hysterectomy
in 1987. I go to see my oncologist every 6 months now. But my blood
showed a few months ago, that my cancer margins were up. Now, I go
for blood work every 3 months. I go to see her next month. Somehow,
as time has gone by, it seems to worry me a little more than it did in
the first two years. I know that I can get the same hormone cancer back
in 5 different places in my body. I met a woman, who has experience all
of them. But she told me her brain cancer was the worst!

"I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth."

I did experience some pain. I can't say if it was related to the cancer though. Periodically I would get these pains in my breast. That was before I was diagnosed though.

Be sure to mention it when you go for your next treatment BEFORE you have it done, so the area can be checked. It's probably nothing, but it won't hurt to point it out....

Today in radiation I had the first of my last four treatments which they said are called "boosts." It was definitley shorter. They said it treats a much smaller area. Just the area where the tumor was. It could be my run away imagination but when it first started the radiation I would almost swear that I felt a painful sensation in my breast rigt where my incision is. Has anyone else experienced that? It wasn't excruciating and I only felt it right at first. Wondering if I will feel it on the next three as well. Just curious.

Same here too, after surgery, during and after radiation. Still have "twinges" of pain now and then but nothing too bad...

Same here. During & after radiation treatments, I had some breast pain. It's been a over a year since I had my last radiation treatment & I no longer have that pain.

Keep smiling!!

Me too. No pain from the cancer. Just after surgery and after radiation treatments. The treatments aren't painful but tenderness, pressure, sensitivity, and shooting stabbing kind of pains, intermittently during the course of radiation. I am having radiation treatments now. Only 4 left to go!

Not before diagnosis. After surgery and radiation, yes, but not before, other than the usual monthly tenderness.
