I used to have a whole collection, but as I tend to cook by instinct (not to mention all the good ideas and techniques I've gotten from watching The Food Channel!), I finally decided to donate them all to my local library. I kept one or two very basic ones, just in case I forget how to roast a chicken. I have to admit, though, I just ordered one that specialized in nutrition for breast cancer patients.

I have lots of cookbooks. My two favorites are the SparkPeople cookbook & Hungry Girl to the Max. I do pull some recipes from SparkRecipes, too.

Keep smiling!!

I have a whole bookshelf full. The ones I use the most are old-- Women's Day Encyclopedia of cooking, Mennonite Cookbook, and a really good Vegan cookbook. I usually have a few recipes I like from each that I use.

I have several recipe books, but probably the one I've used the most is my Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. However, I don't use any of them much anymore.

Mostly I just "wing it" (sometimes my concoctions are winners, sometimes not so much! But I'd have to say the winners outnumber the losers!)

(I have a bad habit of just throwing stuff together & not writing down what I used, though, so if it turns out to be a winner it's not so easy to duplicate it the next time . . . gotta fix that!)

I have a couple of subscriptions - Taste of Home's Healthy Cooking (my favorite) and Cooking Lightly (haven't actually found a recipe I liked well enough to make from this one . . . may be time to cancel that subscription!)

I'm forever picking up other cooking magazines at the store, my husband picks on me because I have tons of recipe mags but I hardly ever make any of the recipes in them!

I do use Sparkpeople recipes, I've found a lot of great recipes here. However, I usually will do a makeover recipe (love that feature) because I can tell by looking at the ingredients listed that the nutritional information isn't correct on a lot of them. So by using the "makeover" feature I can enter the ingredients & amounts that I know I used, and the # of servings that I know my version made, and get accurate information. And I love that you just "add recipe to tracker" and boom, you're done! Plus you get 3 sparkpoints!

My strangest cookbook is a small magazine-sized one that includes great recipes for " chuck wagon" cooking- great chili, delicious stew, and the easiest chocolate dump cake with coffee and vinegar in the recipe. It's delicious!

What's weird about it? It was published and distributed many years ago by Marlboro- yep, THAT Marlboro- and I've never smoked and don't remember where it came from....

I also have quite a few, some that I've used for years and have favorite recipes in them (even if it is just one or two......) and some newer ones. Yes, I do have the Spark Recipe book, really like it, although it is more in my taste than some members of my family (not big fans of vegetables and such). But occasionally I will sneak some in and not tell them.....they usually do not realize that they are eating healthier!!

We have too many to count. I do not have the Spark Cookbook, but I have made several recipes from Sparkrecipes.com

I have a large bookcase full of cookbooks. Some I use a lot. Most I do not use. I have 2 editions of Joy Of Cooking. Those I use often and I look things up like a reference book. I also use my Fix it and Forget It book a lot.

Many of the books I have were my dad's cookbooks. I use them occasionally. Many I just do not use and I need to donate them somewhere. I would really like to get the SparkPeople cookbook but I think my husband would divorce me.

I have been using Spark Recipes extensively these days. There are wonderful ideas and recipes to try and be creative with. I love to cook. Recipes with all the nutritional information help me figure out what I need to do. We rarely go out so having this unending supply of ideas is great.

How many cookbooks do you have? Do you use them often? Do you have a favorite? Do you have the Spark People cook book? Do you make recipes you find on this website? emoticon
