I have not heard this. My Mom & my maternal Grandmother & one of my sisters have large breasts (my grandma -- DD). Mine are not that big. I wear a 36 B or C depending on the bra. My paternal grandmother had smaller breasts like me. She (paternal grandmother) & I both had breast cancer.

Keep smiling!!

When I have spoken to the technicians and nurses when I receive my mamograms and breast imaging, they seem to feel that size has nothing to do with whether you get breast cancer or not. They see all sizes with cancer. From what I have seen the jury is out on size affecting whether you get cancer or not.

Not sure on this except that it may be harder to detect BC with a mammogram. The best person to ask would be your OB GYN.

Well, it is clear that obesity is linked to breast cancer - do an online search - http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/he

I have never heard anything about size of breasts being related - and of course, some men also gget BC...

However, some studies MIGHT show a link
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/05
/breast-cancer-risk-breast-size-study_
n_1652292.html

It may be related to estrogen
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/health

ra-size.html

or it may be related to density
http://news.yahoo.com/identified-between

And this from Susan G Komen:
Breast size

Study findings on a potential link between breast size and breast cancer have been mixed. Some studies have found larger breast size increases risk, while others have found no link between breast size and risk [405-410].

Two studies have found breast size increases risk among lean women, but not among heavy women [407,409]. In contrast, one small study found women with smaller breasts may have a higher risk of breast cancer due to tissue density patterns that are more common in smaller breasts [410].

More research is needed to learn whether or not breast size is linked to breast cancer risk.

All the women in my family are large chested and my mom always feared that large breasts were more prone to breast cancer.

Has anyone else heard this or know of any information stating this is a myth?

Thanks
